        Marine fishes collected the inshore waters of the Kohung Peninsula, southern part of Chollanam-do from June to November in 1990 was studied. They were classified into 41 families and 93 species. The list of the collection including collected date, nember of specimen and Korean name was represented in this paper.

        Elementary science textbooks are the major instructional materials which contain sceientific objectives to be acquired by students. The purpose of this study is to analyze the development system, to evaluate the inquiry activity in current elementary science testbooks, and to make suggestions for the improvement of them. The questionnaires were administered to 116 subjects that participated in development of the 5th elementary science textbooks, and 86 of the subjects responded. Based on the data gathered and analyzed in this study, the major findings are as follows. First, regarding the analysis and evaluation of elementary science textbooks. 1. The instructional objectives in elementary science textbooks are analyzed. The proportions of comprehension objectives is 38%, scientific inquiry process objectives 21%, experimental skills objectives 7%, scientific attitudes and interests objectives 4%. 2. The science concepts in elementary science textbooks of the 3rd grade required the preconcrete operational level(82%) and of the 6rd grade required the postconcrete operational level (73%) by J. Piaget. 3. The inquiry activities in elementary science textbooks are emphasizing gathering and organizing results and evaluation, and hypothesizing and designing an experiment. Inquiry index of the elementary science textbooks is 76. This is significantly higher than 35∼50 of America and U.K. 4. The number of questions per class hour is mostly three, and most of them require the students to explain phenomena in nature or in experiment Second, regarding the development system of elementary science textbooks. 1. The budget for and the period of the development of elementary science textbook should be expanded. 2. For the improvement of elementary science textbooks, more abundant resources and time should be used for the basic study and the field trial of textbooks. 3. The elementary science textbook must include the affective objectives as well as the scientific knowledges and scientific inquiry skills. 4. It is not desirable to assign equal number of pages to the content of physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science. 5. Closer cooperation system is needed among the ministry of education, development research center and the field trial schools.

        중국에서 이식한 종어 (Leiocassis longirostris Gunther)의 외부 형태 및 초기생활사

        한국에서 절멸된 것으로 알려진 종어 (Leiocassis longifostris)를 국내에 복원하고, 양식대상종으로 개발하기 위하여 중국에서 도입하여 외부형태를 비교하고, 난발생 과정 및 부화자어의 형태를 연구하였다. 도입된 표본의 계수·계측형질을 국내와 중국에 알려진 문헌과 비교한 결과 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 중국에서 도입한 암수 한쌍의 성어에서 채란하였고, 습식법으로 수정하였다. 수정란의 크기는 2.01∼2.10 mm(n=10)이었으며, 알의 형태는 원반형이고, 난막은 무색투명하였으며, 강한 접착력이 있었다. 난황은 담황색이고 유구는 없었다. 수정 1시간 후에 배반이 완성되었고, 1시간 30분 후에 난할이 시작되었다. 수정란의 수온을 21.5∼23.0℃로 유지할 때 30∼50분 간격으로 이후 난할이 계속되었다. 수정 후 상실기는 6시간에 도달하였고, 낭배기는 20시간 20분 후에 완성되었다. 난황 표면에서 관찰되는 특이한 연동운동은 상실기에 시작되어 포배기 말기인 30% epiboly기까지 계속되었다. 수정 75시간 후에 부화에 이르렀고, 부화 직후 자어의 크기는 전장 5.91∼6.10 mm 이었다. 부화 3일 후에 입이 열리고, 수염과 부레가 완성되었으며, 전장 9.07 ∼9.37 mm까지 자랐다. 부화 15일후에는 모든 지느러미가 완성되어 후기자어기 상태이었고, 전장 14.80∼16.50 mm로 자랐으며, 부화 25일 후에는 체형, 체색 그리고 생활습성 등이 성체와 유사하고, 전장은 18.59∼22.35 mm까지 성장하였다. The Long-snout bullhead, Leiocassis longirostris, is an introduced fish from China which had become extinct in Korea. Its morphological characteristics and early life history was studied to obtain useful information required for restoration of the species and also for its utilization as an aquaculture fish. Measurements and counts of specimens introduced into Korea were included in the range of those taken from the known literature of Korea and China. Eggs were obtained by fertilization by wet method in the laboratory using one mature male and female adults of introduced L. longirostris. The fertilized eggs measured 2.01-2.10 ㎜ (n = 10) in diameter. The eggs were diskshaped and strongly adhesive, with colorless transparent membrane. The yolk was pale yellow in color with no oil globule. The blastodisc was formed in about 1 hour and cleavage started around 1 hour 30 minutes after fertilization. The cleavage intervals were about 30-50 minutes at 21.5-23℃. The morula stage was reached at 6 hours, and gastrulation was completed at 20 hours 20 min. after fertilization. Peristalsic movements of the yolk surface started at the morula stage and continued to the blastula stage (30% epiboly). Hatching occurred 75 hours after fertilization, and newly hatched larvae were 5.91-6.10 ㎜ (n = 10) in total length (TL). The mouth was open, and barbels and the air-bladder were completely formed 3 days after hatching, at 9.07-9.37 ㎜ TL. All the fin rays were completely formed and the larvae became a postlarva 15 days after hatching at 14.80-16.50 ㎜ in TL. Body shape, color pattern, and habitat behavior were similar to those in the adult at 25 days after hatching and a size of 18.59-22.35 ㎜ TL.

        개선된 사람 혈장중 세파클러 농도 정량법을 이용한 세파클러 캡슐의 생체이용률 측정

        After establishing improved HPLC analytical method ofcefaclor in human plasma samples, a bioavailability study of cefaclor capsules was conducted according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). The standard calibration curve using an HPLC with UV detector was constructed in a range of 0.0324--16 μg/m1. The 6% perchloric acid instead of 6% trichloroacetic acid was used to precipitate plasma protein. The HPLC chromatograms were precisely and accurately resolved when spiked with human plasma spiked with cefaclor and cephalexin (internal standard). Twenty healthy male Korean volunteers received two commercial cefaclor capsules, Neocef ' capsule (Jinyang Pharm. Co., Ltd) or Ceclor" capsule {Lilly Korea. Co., Ltd.) at the 250 mg cefaclor in a 2 x 2 crossover study. There was a one-week washout period between the doses. Plasma concentrations of cefaclor were monitored for 8 hours after oral drug administration. AUC, the area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to 8 hr (13 points), was calculated by the linear trapezoidal rule method. C,,,a" (maximum plasma drug concentration) and Tmax (time to reach Cma,) were compiled from the plasma concentration-time data. Analysis of variance was carried out using logarithmically transformed AUC, and Cmax. No significant sequence effect was found for all of the bioavailability parameters indicating that the cross-over design was properly performed. The 90% confidence intervals of the AUC, ratio and the Cmax ratio for Neocer/Ceclor" were 0.9049 S S < 1.0304 and 0.9776 5 S 1.226, respectively. These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of 0.80-1.25. Thus, our study demonstrated the bioequivalence of Neocef"/Ceclor" with respect to the extent of absorption.

      • 榮山江 中.上流의 淡水漁類

        1987년 9월 29일부터 10월 1일, 11월 11일, 13일에 榮山江 上流와 中流水界의 14個 地点에서 魚類相에 대한 基礎調査를 實施하였다. 本 調査에서 採集된 魚類는 總 9科 29屬 42種 7338個體로 그 가운데 Cyprinidae가 28種 (66.7%), Cobitidae가 4種이었으며, 本 調査地域에서 새로이 서식이 확인된 種은 Hypomesus olidus, Abottina springeri, Hemiculter eigenmanni, Rhodeus notatus, Cobitis taenia lutheri, Cobitis longicorpus, Pelteobagrus nitidus 等 7種이었으며 韓國特産種은 10種이었다. 以前의 報告와 종합해 볼 때 榮山江 水系의 어류는 총 67種이있고 특산종은 16종이었다. 本 調査地에서 優点魚類는 Rhodeus uyekii, Zacco platypus이었고, 稀少種은 Cobitis longicorpus, Abottina springeri, Rhodeus ocellatus, Pelteobagrus mitidus 等이었다. 다른 河川에 비해 연산강의 담수어류의 출현종수는 적었으며 대부분의 어류는 타 하천에서 널리 분포하는 種들이었다. The freshwater fish fauna was investigated from September to November, 1987 at the 14 stations in the upper and middle streams of Yongsan River. In this survey, 9 families, 29 genera and 42 species (totally, 7,338 individuals) were collected and identified. Among them, 28 species were Cyprinidae and 10 species were known as Korean endemic species. Hypomesus olidus, Abottina springeri, Hemiculter eigenmanni, Rhodeus notatus, Cobitis taenia lutheri, Cobitis longicorpus and pelteobagrus nitidus were observed in the present studied areas for the first time. Rhodeus uyekii and Zacco platypus were the dominant species in this area. Total number of species in this area were 67 species according to previous papers and collection by authors. Among them, 16 species were the Korean endemic species. These indicates that the freshwater fish fauna in Yongsan River is less abundant than other main rivers in Korea.

        The freshwater fish fauna was investigated from April, 1987 to August, 1988 in Watan chon, Pulgap chon, Ch'ong chon and Ch'onggye chon of Chol-lanamdo. The collected fish were 6 families, 19 genera, 22 species in Watan chon 9 families, 20 genera, 25 species in Pulgap chon, 7 families, 17 genera, 17 species in Ch'ong chon and 7 families, 13 genera, 15 species in Ch'onggye chon. It was remarkable point in the distributional study of freshwater fishes of Korea that two individuals of Cobitis koreensis were collected in Pulgap chon for the first time and the morphology of them was very similar to the Tongjin River population. This indicated that Pulgap chon was found to be the southern limit of distribution of C. koreensis koreensis. Growth rate and age composition were analyzed by total length of 6 species such as Squalidus gracilis majimae, Abbottina springeri, A. rivularis, Moroco oxycephalus, Cobitis lutheri and Zacco temmincki.

        한국산 농어목 망둑어아목 어류의 미토콘드리아 cytochrome b 유전자 염기서열 분석에 의한 분자계통

        본 연구는 국내 분포하는 어류의 계통간 유연관계를 알아보기 위한 기초자료로서 망둑어아목을 중심으로 농어목에 속하는 꺽지과, 동사리과, 망둑어과, 버들붕어과의 4과 12종의 미토콘드리아 cyt b 유전자의 염기서열 변이를 비교 분석하였다. 총 405 bp 크기의 염기서열중 종간 염기변이는 염기의 치환이 대부분이었다. 특히 유전자 유사도가 가장 가까웠던 동사리와 검정꾹저구의 경우, 염기 서열중 124번째 염기에서 T/A 치환에 의한 염기변이만이 관찰되었고, 파랑밀어와 무늬밀어의 경우는 총17개의 염기에서 변이가 관찰되었다. 분자계통도에서는 크게 5개의 cluster로 구분되어 대부분 동일 속내 종들끼리 cluster를 형성하였다. 특이하게도, 날망둑속 꾹저구는 독립된 진화의 방향을 나타내었고, 검정꾹저구와 무늬꾹저구는 각각 다른 속내 종들과 cluster를 형성하였다. To get basic data revealing the molecular phylogeny in Korean freshwater fishes, we analyzed mitochondrial cytochrome b(cyt b) genes from 12 species within 4 families (Centropomidae, Odontobutidae, Gobiidae, Belontiidae). Of 405 bp of cyt b gene, nucleotide substitutions of T/A occurred between species. Especially, interspecific variation in T/A between Odontobutis interrupta and Gymnogobius petschiliensis appeared on a single nucleotide at 124 position but 17 substitutions were observed between Rhinogobius sp. CO and R. sp. CO. We clustered the tested fishes into 5 groups through a molecular phylogenetic analysis in terms of the NJ method, indicating that each cluster represented each genus. However, Gymnogobius urotaenia had diverged independently, resulting in 2 species (G. opperiens, G. petschiliensis) clustered with another species in other genus.

      • 고군산군도 연안 어류상

        1989년부터 1993년까지 고군산군도의 어류상에 대하여 조사한 결과 12목 50과 81속 102종을 채집하였다. 조사 기간중에 많은 개체가 채집된 종은 밴댕이 Herengula zunasi, 멸치 Engraulis japonica, 민태 Jahnius grypotus, 흰베도라치 Pholis fangi, 꽃돛양태 Repomucenus ornatipinnis, 별망둑 Chasmichthys gulosus, 두줄망둑 Tridentiger trigonocephalus 과 참서대 Cyno-glossus joyneri 의 8종이었다. 채집된 12목 어류중에 농어목, 횟대목 그리고 가자미목의 3개 목에 포함된 어류가 약 74%로 대부분을 차지하였고, 과별로는 망둑어과가 12종으로 가장 많은 종이 출현하였다. 채집된 어류중에 흰베도라치 Pholis fangi, 꽃돛양태 Repomucenus ornatipinnis, 참돛양태 Repomucenus koreanus, 황점복 Takifugu flavidus, 황복 Takifugu obscurus 등 5종은 황해에만 출현하는 고유종들이다. 본 조사 지역에서 15개체가 채집된 Sebastes sp. 는 Sebastes hubbsi 그리고 Sebastes longispinnis와 유사하지만 등지느러미 기조수, 측선공수, 새파수와 체색에서 한국에 출현하는 Sebastes속 어류 어느 종과도 달라서 분류학적으로 주목되었다. During the investigation of fish fauna from the Kokunsan Islands off west coast of Korea from 1989 to 1993, authors confirmed 102 fish species belonging to 81 genera. 50 families and 12 orders. Of these the following 8 species were common : Herengila zunasi, Engraulis japonica, Johnius grypotus, Pholis fangi, Repomucenus ornatipinnis, Chasmichthys gulosus, Tridentiger trigonocephalus, and Cynoglossus joyneri. Of the twelve orders recognized herein, Perciformes, Scorpaenformes and Pleuronecti-formes include approximately 74% of the fish fauna in this area. The largest family is the Gobiidae representing 12 species. Pholis fangi, Repomucenus ornatipinnis, Repomucenus koreanus, Takifugu flavidus and Takifugu obscurus collected are endemic to the Yellow Sea. Fifteen specimens of an unknown Sebastes species was collected. This species resembles Sebastes hubbsi and Sebastes longispinnis, but the species differs from other sebastes species reported in Korea in the number of dorsal fin rays, lateral line pores, gill rakers and in color patterns of body sides.

      • 耽津江 水系의 漁類相 調査

        The freshwater fish fauna was investigated from May, 1988 to July, 1989 at eleven stations in Tamjingang. The collected fishes were 12 families, 28 genera, 36 species, 5,633 individuals, and among them 9 species were known as Korean endemic species and 29 species were primary freshwater fishes. In these studied area, Zacco platypus, Z. temmincki, Microphysogobio yaluensis, Rhodeus uyekii. Cobitis longicorpus, C. lutheri were collected abundantly but Pseudorasbora parva, Abbottina rivularis, Acheilognathus limbata, A. yamatsutae, Pseudobagrus fulvidraco, Liobagrus mediadiposalis were rare species.
