Heme oxygenase (HO-1) catalyzes heme to carbon monoxide (CO), biliverdin/bilirubin, and iron and is known to prevent the pathogenesis of several human diseases. We assessed the beneficial effect of heme degradation products on osteoclastogenesis induced by receptor activator of NF-κB ligand (RANKL). Treatment of RAW264.7 cells with CORM-2 (a CO donor) and bilirubin, but not with iron, decreased RANKLinduced osteoclastogenesis, with CORM-2 having a more potent anti-osteogenic effect. CORM-2 also inhibited RANKLinduced osteoclastogenesis and osteoclastic resorption activity in marrow-derived macrophages. Treatment with hemin, a HO-1 inducer, strongly inhibited RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis in wild-type macrophages, but was ineffective in HO-1<sup>+/- </sup>cells. CORM-2 reduced RANKL-induced NFATc1 expression by inhibiting IKK-dependent NF-κB activation and reactive oxygen species production. These results suggest that CO potently inhibits RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis by inhibiting redox-sensitive NF-κB-mediated NFATc1 expression. Our findings indicate that HO-1/CO can act as an antiresorption agent and reduce bone loss by blocking osteoclast differentiation. [BMB Reports 2017; 50(2): 103-108]

<P>Transfection with either hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) or heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) gene can induce neovascularization in ischemic tissues. Although expression of transfected HIF-1α gene occurs rapidly, the expressed HIF-1α protein degrades quickly, limiting its therapeutic efficacy. Meanwhile, expressed HO-1 protein does not rapidly undergo degradation, but gene expression occurs a couple of days after transfection, resulting in apoptosis and a delay in angiogenesis in ischemic tissues at the incipient period of HO-1 gene transfection. We hypothesize that combined delivery of HIF-1α and HO-1 gene will enhance antiapoptosis and neovascularization in ischemic tissue compared with HIF-1α or HO-1 single-gene therapy. To test this hypothesis, ischemic mouse hindlimbs were treated with HIF-1α and/or HO-1 gene therapy. The combined gene therapy proved superior to both single-gene therapies, resulting in rapid expression of HIF-1α gene and long-term maintenance of expressed HO-1 protein. The apoptosis in the ischemic region was significantly less, and angiogenic growth factor secretion and angiogenesis were greater in the combined gene therapy than in either of the single-gene therapies. Our results suggest that a combined gene therapy of HIF-1α and HO-1 enhances the transfection of both genes and improves angiogenesis compared with either single-gene therapy.</P>

Toxic hepatitis has been reported as a major cause of acute hepatitis, but its potential induction by herbal remedies and/or health foods is usually neglected. We experienced a case of toxic hepatitis associated with Polygoni multiflori, a Chinese herb commonly known as Ho-Shou-Wu. A 54-year-old woman consumed Ho-Shou-Wu for 1 month, after which she experienced fatigue and overall weakness. A diagnosis of toxic hepatitis was made based on her clinical history, the findings for viral markers and other laboratory data, and ultrasonography. Her condition improved considerably after she stopped taking Ho-Shou-Wu. However, she resumed taking Ho-Shou-Wu immediately after discharge from hospital, which aggravated her symptoms and liver function. She was immediately readmitted and stopped taking Ho-Shou-Wu. Her relapse into hepatitis immediate after resuming consumption of the herb is strongly indicative of the validity of Koch`s postulate in this case.

In this paper, we are concerned about from and isoglossline on Gimcheon place name. conclusion is as follows, 1. The roots of Gimcheon place name is Gamcheon which runs east and west total area in Gimcheon. Originally speaking, Gam(甘)- means God. Through cultural differenciation. The meaning of Gam- was changed into turtle gradually. Because of similarity on sound between two words. At length Gam- means center and that have two types, one is positive sereis the other is negative series. 2. Back part of place name is able to classify three categories. first is -ma, second is -mal, third is masil series. here -ma series are contration type of masil. 3. Isoglossline phenomenon is originated on -sil series and -gol series. The formere is distributioned Gyeongsangdo area, the latter Jeollado area. Bilingual district existing two dialect peculiarity are still now. Therefor Gimcheon is focus area over east and west in korea.

This paper aims at research cultural information of place name HAM(咸)-. Such study depends on cultural semiotics language because its sign reflects special society and cultural distinctive feature. Looking back on japan's regime. they emphasized korean language family as two different component consisting bujeo(夫餘) language oder and han(韓) language in order to rationalize their political selfishness. What is called, that is Imna(任那) japan regime which was located in haman(咸安) and gimhai(金海) district. Japan's Imna regime has remarkable problem that pro-japan scholar in korean had agreed their assertation which is called Imna's japan regeme. Of course their opinion may be a prejudice. In spite of mistake, that is very popular in the history of korean language field. Originally speaking, korean language concluded dialectical difference between bujeo and han language order in acient korean generation. That point is not important factor under such situation, our nation's scholar may be taken easily. Now, I could assert most important focus in this paper concerning on the distributions and meaning of place name "ham"-oder which contains turtle totem. The turtle totem can be based on theocracy in Garak dynasty located south coast line area. Same time we will investigate weak point about Imna's japan assumption. Conclusion is following ; 1. Grapheme of place-name 'han' is originated from 'gam(geom)' which means turtle as cultural semiotics. Its variants are geom, geoma, gama, gamai, geomi and so on. 2. Nowadays originative form of turtle (geobuk) is geom(gam). generally speaking, its meaning is God(神). we often used animal body itself as god, so -called a water nymph or land nymph because turtle lives on water and land as amphibia. it symbolizes the great bear and north side in tomb. The distribution of geom has many variants. for example, gama, siru( 甑 盆 釜 ) 3. Graphic type of ham can be categorized as sound order meaning order using chinese letter, the former conclude gam(甘) geum(今 金 琴), geom (檢 劍) gamaia, game, the latter conclude hyeon(玄) gu(龜), bu(釜), zeung(甑), bun(盆), chil(漆), byeol(鱉). Among them gama order is most productively in geographical distribution on place-name. gama(gamai), consists of open syllable structure which the form was gone a head of the times before close syllable structure. 4. Turtle totem spread on many other area in korean peninsula, and its graphical distribution of turtle evidenced over person's name and pen name and folklore name. Rest subject is comparative study nationwide. We will investigate distributional feature on turtle totem.(Daegu University)
중학생들의 과학적 사고 수준과 교과서 생물 분야의 탐구활동에서 요구하는 사고수준의 분석

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between junior high school students' reasoning level and thinking pattern of biology inquiry activities in their science textbook. Students' scientific reasoning abilities were investigated by the Lawson's Scientific Reasoning Group Test which was adminstered to 725 junior high school students. Four hundred and sixty-four inquiry activities excerpted from 8 science textbooks were analyzed by the profile of reasoning patterns which were composed of sub-categories of empirical-inductive reasoning and hypothetico-deductive reasoning patterns. The results of this study showed that 38.9 percentiles of all subjects were categorized as empirical-inductive reasoner and 29.1 percentiles were hypothetico-deductive reasoner. Although the percentile of hypothetico-deductive reasoner was increased from the 7th to the 8th grades, the result showed it was decreased from the 8th to the 9th grades which provided another positive evidence for Kwon's theory of the spurt-and-plateau pattern of reasoning development. In addition, the result showed that 86.4 percentiles of all inquiry activities were revealed as empirical-inductive reasoning pattern and 13.6 percentiles were turn in revealed as hypothetico-deductive reasoning pattern. Even the percentile of hypothetical-deductive reasoning pattern of inquiry activities was increased from the 7th to 9th grades, it was lower than the percentiles of students' hypothetico-deductive reasoning level.
인지공학적 안전기술 : 대구지하철화재사건을 중심으로 Daegu subway accident

최근 일어난 대구지하철 화재참사는 현대의 자동화된 시스템에서 인간의 사소한 실구가 얼마나 큰 재해로 귀결되는지를 잘 보여주며, 시스템 설계에서 인간의 안전을 신중히 고려하여야 함을 시사한다. 본 연구에서는 인간의 실수는 다양한 환경적 조건들 (예: 작업과부하)과 그에 따른 인지적 정보처리 결함에 기인한다는 것을 보여주고자 하였다. 부가하여, 시스템 작동에서의 안전사고를 줄이기 위해서는 인지공학적인 연구결과를 토대로 다양한 재난 방지 보조시스템을 개발할 필요가 있다. 마지막으로 대구지하철사고에 대한 인지공학적 분석 및 몇 가지 재난 방지 시스템 설계를 제안하였다. A recent fire accident in Daegu subway terminal cleary showed that in a modern automated system a seemingly trivial human error can cause a tragic disaster, and suggests that human safety must be seriously considered in the system design. Therefore, this study tried to show that human errors are caused by various environmental conditions (e.g., workload) and by deficits in human cognitive information processing. In addition, it is suggested that various accident prevention and auxiliary system must be based on the results of the cognitive engineering research in order to reduce safety accidents in the system operation. Finally, the Daegu subway fire accident was analysed using a cognitive engineering error analysis, and several possible accident prevention systems were proposed.
