주기적으로 분극 반전된 MgO:LiNbO<sub>3</sub>를 이용한 리지형 광도파로 파장가변 소자 제작 및 특성

MgO가 첨가된 z-cut $LiNbO_3$를 이용하여 주기적으로 분극반전된 리지광도파로(Ridge-type Waveguide)를 제작하였으며 이를 적용하여 녹색광원 소자를 구현시 리지광도파로 높이 변화량과 분극반전주기비 변화량에 따른 이론적 결과와 실험적 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 이러한 비교분석을 위해 새로운 측정시스템을 구성하였으며, 이를 적용한 소자 측정 결과 중심파장은 1067.45 nm, 파장변환효율은 90.7%/$Wcm^2$ 및 파장변환효율곡선의 반치폭은 0.17 nm임을 확인하였다. 또한, 실험값과 이론값과의 비교결과 분극반전주기와 파장변환효율곡선의 반치폭 계산 오차는 각각 0.016 ${\mu}m$와 0.01 nm로 이론값이 실험값을 잘 예측함을 확인하였다. Wavelength converting devices with a ridge-type waveguide in periodically poled $MgO:LiNbO_3$ are made and characterized. The experimental results are compared with theoretical analysis on the effects of waveguide dimension and duty ratio of the periodically poled structure. To show the relationship of the conversion efficiency to those factors, a new measurement system is configured. That experimental results show that the center wavelength, normalized conversion efficiency and full width half maximum of the conversion efficiency curve are 1067.45 nm, 90.7%/$Wcm^2$ and 0.17 nm, respectively. Also, the estimated results of the duty period and full width half maximum of the conversion efficiency from theoretical calculations agreed well with experimental results with the errors of 0.016 ${\mu}m$ and 0.01 nm.

Green manure crops play an inportant role in organic farming. Field experiment was conducted at paddy soi1 (fine loamy, mixed, nonacid, mesic family of Aeric Fluvaquentíc Endoquepts) ín 2008/2009 to 2009/2010 at the Natíonallnstítute of Crop Science (NICS), RDA, Suwon, Gyeonggí provínce, Korea. This expe꺼ment was carried out to evaluate the biomass of haíry vetch (Vicia víllosa) and growth of rice (Oryza satíva) by cjífferent seedíng rates. Seeding rates of hairy vetch consisted of 30, 60, and 90 kg ha-' by broadcasting before rice harvesting. The biomass af)d nitrogen production of hairy vetch were not significantly different between 60 kg ha-’ and 90 kg ha-’ of seeding rates. Also, rice yield was not siginicantly differnt between seeding rate 60 kg ha-’ of hairy vetch and conventional pratice for two years. Therefore, we suggested that seeding rate of hairy vetch should be reduced by continuous cropping and incoportion of hairy vetch under rice-based cropping system.

<P>The biosynthesis of flavonoids such as anthocyanin and stilbenes has attracted increasing attention because of their potential health benefits. Anthocyanins and stilbenes share common phenylpropanoid precursor pathways. We previously reported that the overexpression of sweetpotato IbMYB1a induced anthocyanin pigmentation in transgenic tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) plants. In the present study, transgenic tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum SR1) plants (STS-OX and ROST-OX) expressing the RpSTS gene encoding stilbene synthase from rhubarb (Rheum palmatum L. cv. Jangyeop) and the RpSTS and VrROMT genes encoding resveratrol O-methyltransferase from frost grape (Vitis riparia) were generated under the control of 35S promoter. Phenotypic alterations in floral organs, such as a reduction in floral pigments and male sterility, were observed in STS-OX transgenic tobacco plants. However, we failed to obtain STS-OX and ROST-OX plants with high levels of resveratrol compounds. Therefore, to improve the production of resveratrol derivatives in plants, we cross-pollinated flowers of STS-OX or ROST-OX and IbMYB1a-OX transgenic lines (SM and RSM). Phenotypic changes in vegetative and reproductive development of SM and RSM plants were observed. Furthermore, by HPLC and LC-MS analyses, we found enhanced production of resveratrol derivatives such as piceid, piceid methyl ether, resveratrol methyl ether O-hexoside, and 5-methyl resveratrol-3,4'-O-beta-d-diglucopyranoside in SM and RSM cross-pollinated lines. Here, total contents of trans- and cis-piceids ranged from approximately 104-240 A mu g/g fresh weight in SM (F-2). Collectively, we suggest that coexpression of RpSTS and IbMYB1a via cross-pollination can induce enhanced production of resveratrol compounds in plants by increasing metabolic flux into stilbenoid biosynthesis.</P>

Purpose: To propose suggestions for future direction of health informatics in Sri Lanka with the understanding of existing situation in Sri Lanka and world. Methodology: Online literature search from journal articles and other documents Findings: Application of Health Information System (HIS) in health informatics has been implemented on project basis at district level by facing various barriers. Experience of efficiency and effectiveness have been motivated to expand the application up to national level. Conclusion: Applications of health informatics in Sri Lanka is limited when comparing with other countries in the world due to various barriers.

In deep drawing of sheet metal, a blank holding force(BHF) is one of the key factor. A low BHF can cause wrinkling, whereas a high BHF can cause fracture during a deep drawing process. Thus, formability can be influenced by application appropriate BHF. In this study, a variable blank holding force (VBHF) is applied to extend the forming limit by avoiding both wrinkling and fracture. To determine VBHF profile in circular cup deep drawing, numerical simulations and statistical analysis are carried out using commercial FEM software. Consequently, it was shown that the formability of the deep drawn circular cup was improved by using the numerical simulation with statistical technique.

In this paper, the reasons of die fracture occurring in hot aluminum forging of a fixed scroll are investigated using finite element analysis. A forging process tried out to develop an aluminum scroll for medium-sized electric vehicle is simulated using a rigid-thermoviscoplastic finite element method and the predictions of stresses along the die=material interface are employed for die structural analysis. The effective stress of die and y-directional stress component is examined to reveal the reason of die fracture, revealing that excessive bending stress due to flow unbalance induced lateral force exerted on the warp, i.e., protruded die part leads to the die fracture.
