Self-powered system (SPS) will be the promising power source in this modern era where the customized electronics gadgets are ruling the world. However, the impedance matching (energy harvester and storage), high-cost, and long-time durability of SPS in the previous report stop them from further development towards commercialization. The development of new materials with the property of both energy harvesting and storage is the utmost importance to extend the application of SPS. In this work, we report the bifunctional properties of free-standing paper-like carbyne-enriched carbon (P-CeC) as both energy harvester (triboelectric nanogenerator) and storage unit (supercapacitor) in the formulated SPS unit as a first report. The changes in the work function & surface potential of P-CeC film were carefully investigated using KPFM and UPS study. The fabricated C-CeC TENG shows far superior performance compared to the state of art of the polymer-based TENG. In addition, the energy storage performance of P-CeC SSC was systematically studied and evaluated. Finally, the self-charging capability of this P-CeC SPS is demonstrated, which charge 750 mV (380s) with energy storing efficiency of 93.75 %. This result shows that the development of bifunctional materials has great potential for the maintenance-free system towards customized electronics gadgets.

The cause of deactivation of Degussa P25 titanium dioxide (TiO2) during photocatalytic degradation of phthalic acid in aqueous medium was investigated. Various regeneration methods, such as washing with solvents, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and thermal treatment were attempted to find the best technique for regeneration of spent catalyst. The deactivation and regeneration of TiO2 was monitored using XRD, FTIR,CHNO analysis, zeta potential measurement and surface area analysis. The surface adsorption of phthalic acid and the reaction intermediates deactivates the catalyst. The regeneration by H2O2 treatment nearly restored the activity, whereas washing with solvents and thermal treatment showed poor regeneration.
Offensive Outburst of Restrained Worker Discontent: A Case of Indian Industrial Relations

The purpose of this case study is to discuss the issues and challenges pertaining to industrial safety. The case study begins with the shocking incident of the brutal killing of top-executive of the company by agitated workers. Inspite of having conducive environment for business, Italian subsidiary Robusto Muro Ltd had to confront industrial Relations issues at an incredible and unprecedented level. Management perspective, workers viewpoint, competitors approach and diplomatic comments by political bigwigs have also been incorporated so that the students may have 3-dimensional understanding of the scenario. The case of such genre will facilitate the students to comprehend and discuss the employee-employer relationship and industrial safety, in particular and ndustrial relations and IR machinery, in general.

Recently, RNA interference (RNAi) technology has been emerged as a potent tool for pest control strategy. Based on the previous studies on RNAi via leaf disc-mediated systemic delivery of dsRNA and in planta expression of hairpin RNA by agroinfiltration, the coatomer subunit alpha (COPA) gene has been found to be a crucial target for RNAi against Tetranychus urticae. In current study, transgenic plants of Arabidopsis thaliana expressing COPA hairpin RNA were generated by the floral dip method. Putative transgenic plants were screened by PCR and positive transformants were subjected to bioassay using age-synchronized and host-adapted T. urticae. T. urticae feeding on plants expressing dsRNA/siRNA showed more than 80% mortality as compared to the mites feeding on control plants at 6 days post-infestation. Our data shows that in planta expression of hairpin gene such as COPA may serve as an effective way for the control of this important pest in ornamental and economically important plants.
Analyzing Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Public Sector-An Indian Contextual Study
Vimal Babu 강원대학교 경영연구소 2013 Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Vol.4 No.1
In spite of the interest related to the entrepreneurship, the problems related to the creation of companies by the public civils servant still remain unanswered and not unanimously identified. In fact, a central question arises in this respect: “which are the factors which encourage the public civils servant to launch out in the creation of their own company? Or “how can one explain the entrepreneurial intention of the public civils servant?” For this end, and after having reviewed the principal subjacent factors of the entrepreneurial as well as the central assumptions of our research task, we will devote the second part to the empirical validation of the explanatory factors of the entrepreneurial intention in the specific case of the Indian public civils servant while proposing some recommendations on the matter .
Optimization of Glucoamylase Production by Colletotrichum sp. KCP1 Using Statistical Methodology
Vimal S. Prajapati,Ujjval B. Trivedi,Kamlesh C. Patel 한국식품과학회 2013 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.22 No.1
Glucoamylase is a key enzyme used in the food processing as well as in commercial production of glucose from starch. A natural fungal strain identified as Colletotrichum sp. KCP1 using 18S rDNA partial genome sequencing has been studied for optimization of glucoamylase production. Media components were screened and optimized through the statistical approach for the synthesis of glucoamylase in solid state fermentation using wheat bran as the substrate. The medium components influencing the enzyme production were identified using Plackett-Burman design. Among various variables screened along with wheat bran as major growth substrate, starch, whey, and casein acid hydrolyasate were found to be most significant. The optimum concentrations of these significant parameters were determined employing the response surface central composite design, revealing starch concentration (1.5 g),whey (0.1 mL), and casein acid hydrolysate (0.1 g) per 5 g of wheat bran for highest enzyme production.

Consumer Grievance Redress in Indian Insurance Markets
Vimal Balasubramaniam,Aishwarya Gawali,Renuka Sane,Srishti Sharma 국제금융소비자학회 2023 The International Review of Financial Consumers(IR Vol.8 No.1
We present results from a first-ever representative survey of five major Indian states to measure consumer grievances in Indian insurance markets. We document the lifecycle of the grievance redress process for life, health, vehicle and agricultural insurance products. Despite high resolution rates by insurance companies, consumers choose not to complain for an array of reasons. Insurance consumers prefer exiting insurance products rather than entering the redress process, suggestive of high transaction costs in redressing insurance grievances.
