        Affecting of Online Comments on Impulse Buying in E-Distribution

        Purpose: This study's purpose is to conduct empirical research on online comments affect Vietnamese consumers' impulsive buying in e-distribution. This study also considers affecting of browsing toward the urge to buy, and the urge to buy toward impulse buying in edistribution. Research design, data and methodology: This study used the non-probability method to assemble data from 273 customers' online buying experiences via a Google Forms online survey. By using SmartPLS, the data were examined for reliability, convergent validity, discriminant validity of the variables, and proposed hypothesis testing. Results: The empirical study discovered that internet comments with utilitarian and hedonistic values had a positive effect on browsing, the urge to buy, and impulse purchases in e-distribution. Additionally, the result revealed that browsing had a positive influence on the urge to purchase. Likewise, the findings also disclosed that the urge to buy had a favorable effect on impulse buying. Conclusions: This study offered a thorough conceptual model of internet feedback influencing browsing, urge to buy, and impulsive purchases in e-distribution. Also, to increase impulsive buying, this study will assist e-distribution managers in concentrating on developing innovative marketing strategies and action plans that take into consideration consumers' internet reviews, browsing, and urge to buy.

        WORLD- MINDEDNESS IN IDA AHDIAH’S TEMAN EMPAT MUSIM

        The development of Indonesian literature in the 21st century is marked by the boom of popular fiction. One of the characteristics of this fiction is the main character living in a foreign country. By living abroad, the author of this genre of fiction wants to show to the readers that the main character is world-minded. World-mindedness is suggestive of having values that rely on humanity rather than one’s nationality being the principal frame of reference. By using a foreign country as the setting, the author wants to show to the readers that the main character is world-minded. By applying the theory of world-mindedness, this study tries to see how Indonesian popular fiction shows that the Indonesian within fiction is now able to be global and local at the same time. By focusing on a novel written by an unknown writer, this study tries to see how Indonesian popular fiction embraces global connectedness.

        Lessons and Implications of Vietnam’s Reforms in 1976-89 for North Korea

        This study looks back over the initial stages of Vietnamese reforms in 1976-89 and claims that the initial stages of Vietnam’s reform measures focused only on “complementing the system” and evolved into “making changes in the system.”The Vietnamese reform started from bottom-up and from the region, not from topdown and from the center. After going through quite a few trials and errors, the central government at last acknowledged the policy and took the path toward reform. In responding to the involuntary spread of market economic forces resulting from the painful Arduous March over famine in mid to late 1990s, North Korean authorities, in a struggle to survive, adopted the “July 1 measures” in 2002 to support and “complement” its socialist economic system. North Korean authorities turned the clock back to the past in mid 2005 through recently just as the Vietnamese government had tried to do during 1983-84. Nonetheless, North Korean people are learning to live without rations from the state. They become to know how “markets” are working and how “markets” are feeding themselves. Indeed, the Vietnamese experiences in early years of reforms in 1976-89 cast important implications for North Korea: Although the North Korean authorities have tried to revert to the past, they will not succeed and the unintended results of the previous measures of “complementing the system” will sooner or later bring significant changes to the system 일반적으로 알려진 것과는 달리 베트남의 개혁은 도이머이(Doi Moi)가 시작된 후에도 상당한 진통을 겪은 후 1990년대에 본격적으로 시행되었다. 본 연구는 베트남의 개혁단계 중 초기 단계인 1976년에서 1989년까지의 개혁과정을 분석하여 북한의 개혁, 개방에 대한 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 베트남의 개혁과정도 초기 단계에서는 체제를 “보완”하는 차원에서 시작되었으나 시간이 지나면서 체제를 “변화”시키는 방향으로 진화해나갔다. 베트남의 개혁은 중앙이 아닌 지방에서, 하향식이 아닌 상향식으로 전개되었다. 베트남 중앙정부는 수 차례에 걸친 시행착오를 거친 후에 마침내 현실을 받아들이고 개혁의 길로 나가게 된다. 북한은 1990년대 중반에서 후반에 걸친 “고난의 행군” 시절에 시장경제적 요소가 당국의 의도와는 달리 광범위하게 퍼져나가자 2002년 “7 1 조치”를 시행하였다. 이 조치는 사회주의 경제체제를 지탱하기 위한 체제를 “보완”하는 조치였다. 북한 당국은 2005년 중반 이후로는 시간을 거꾸로 돌리는 비개혁적 조치를 취하고 있다. 이는 마치 베트남이 1983-84년에 일시적으로 시도하였던 조치들과 상당히 유사하다. 북한 당국의 과거 회귀 조치에도 불구하고 북한 주민들은 이미 국가로부터의 배급 없이 살아가는 방법을 체득하고 있다. 그들은 “시장”이 어떻게 작동하는지 “시장”에서 어떻게 그들의 생존을 보장받는지를 배우게 되었다. 베트남의 초기 개혁 경험이 북한에 시사하는 바는 비록 북한 당국이 과거로 회귀하려고 하지만 이는 결국 성공할 수 없으며, 과거에 북한 당국이 떠밀려서 취했던 체제를 “보완”하는 조치들이 조만간 북한 경제체제에 상당한 “변화”를 가져올 것이라는 점이다.

        A novel control method to maximize the energy-harvesting capability of an adjustable slope angle wave energy converter

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This paper introduces a novel control approach to maximizing the output energy of an adjustable slope angle wave energy converter (ASAWEC) with oil-hydraulic power take-off. Different from typical floating-buoy WECs, the ASAWEC is capable of capturing wave energy from both heave and surge modes of wave motions. For different waves, online determination of the titling angle plays a significant role in optimizing the overall efficiency of the ASAWEC. To enhance this task, the proposed method was developed based on a learning vector quantitative neural network (LVQNN) algorithm. First, the LVQNN-based supervisor controller detects wave conditions and directly produces the optimal titling angles. Second, a so-called efficiency optimization mechanism (EOM) with a secondary controller was designed to regulate automatically the ASAWEC slope angle to the desired value sent from the supervisor controller. A prototype of the ASAWEC was fabricated and a series of simulations and experiments was performed to train the supervisor controller and validate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach with regular waves. The results indicated that the system could reach the optimal angle within 2s and subsequently, the output energy could be maximized. Compared to the performance of a system with a vertically fixed slope angle, an increase of 5% in the overall efficiency was achieved. In addition, simulations of the controlled system were performed with irregular waves to confirm the applicability of the proposed approach in practice.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> This paper proposes a novel energy maximization algorithm of a sliding-buoy wave energy converter (SBWEC). </LI> <LI> An efficiency optimization mechanism is designed and integrated into the SBWEC. </LI> <LI> The control logic is based on a learning vector quantitative neural network for classifying the wave information. </LI> <LI> The effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified through both simulations and experiments. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Experimental Assessment of the Power Conversion of a Wave Energy Converter Using Hydraulic Power Take-Off Mechanism

        The hydraulic power take-off (HPTO) is considered as the most promising method to convert wave power to electrical power. This paper presents an experimental assessment of the power conversion of a wave energy converter using HPTO. Based on the experimental results, a modification of accumulator pre-charged pressure and a control strategy were proposed to improve the system performance. System design, the working principle and mathematical model of all components were described. The proposed method was verified based on both simulation and experimental tests. The results showed that the system always works at an optimal condition under different input wave conditions.

        Temper tantrum is explosion of the emotion or over flow of the anger that doing the child 15 month until 6 years. Temper tantrum can be solution which one with good parenting style that use by parents to the children. This poster is one way to educate and provide solutions of parents how to manage tantrums in children with autism. Tantrums are the most common problem in children with autism, like screaming, crying, kicking etc. Duration can be seconds to minutes typically. Children with autism throw tantrums because of: (1) Frustrated with the task, trying to develop independence skills, do thingson their own (2) to get what they want, however tangible or parental attention (3) to get out of what they don’t want to do. Tantrums can be occur anytime and anyplace such as at home, at store, and in the car. This poster can teach the parents how to manage tantrums in 6 way: (1) ignore the tantrums (2) don’t give up (3) resolution (4) label the feeling (5) no physical punishment and (6) replacement.

      • A study on modeling of a hybrid wind wave energy converter system

        A model of a hybrid wind wave energy converter (HWWEC) system is proposed in this paper. The HWWEC includes two wave buoys and a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) system, which co-works to drive a generator. Wave buoys are arranged in an arc pattern to capture efficiently wave energy from many directions. The hydrodynamic forces are calculated by the Wave Analysis at Massachusetts Institute of Technology WAMIT software. In order to bring the system into resonance with the incident wave frequencies, a variable inertia hydraulic flywheel is employed so that the power output is maximized. Specifications and working principle of the whole system are presented and described. WEC unit model and hybrid mechanism are also presented. Simulations are carried out to evaluate the performance the HWWEC with the given specifications. Then, simulation results under some phase differences are taken to investigate the influence on the overall efficiency.

        Development of a Wave Energy Converter with Mechanical Power Take-Off via Supplementary Inertia Control

        To reduce environmental pollution, alternative renewable energy resources have been explored for decades. Wave energy has a high energy density, high utilization time and no fuel costs, so it is considered as the most promising alternative to the fossil fuel resources. The number of studies of wave energy converters (WECs) has rapidly increased. This paper proposes a new method to achieve the resonant behavior of a point absorber floating buoy type of WEC using a mechanical power take-off system. By using the inertia characteristics of a hydraulic flywheel accumulator-based electro-hydraulic actuator to change the corresponding supplementary mass of the floating buoy, the total mass of the buoy was close to a match with the relatively low frequency of the wave, so that the buoy was in resonance with the wave. The specifications of the hydraulic flywheel accumulator system were proposed and studied. The working principle was analyzed, and a mathematical model was then derived to investigate the system operation. An experimental set-up was implemented to validate the mathematical model. Numerical simulation using MATLAB/Simulink was done to evaluate the operation of the system.
