Photoluminescence Imaging of Spinel for Thermometer Application
Toru Hagiwara,Hajime Kunieda,Hirotaka Kasai,Daisuke Ishikawa,Toru Katsumata,Hiroaki Aizawa,Masayuki Shibasaki,Shuji Komuro 제어로봇시스템학회 2008 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2008 No.10
Photoluminescence (PL) imaging is curried out using Cr doped spinel sensors at various temperatures for 2-dimensional fluorescence thermometer application. PL images can be clearly observed using a CCD camera and UV, green and/or blue LED illuminations. Brightness of PL images from Cr doped spinel sensor decrease with temperature up to 250 oC. PL imaging is suggested to be useful for 2-dimensional fluorescence thermometer applications.

Detection of 1270 nm Emission from Singlet Oxygen due to Photodynamic Therapy in vitro and in vivo.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a cancer treatment modality which utilizes the cytotoxicity of the active singlet oxygen derived from irradiation of a tumor accumulated photosensitizer. As the oxygen in the singlet state radiates an emission of 1270nm wavelength when it decays to the triplet state, detection of the emission helps us to understand the mechanism of PDT or to evaluate photosensitizers. We detected the 1270nm emission from photosensitizers Photofrin and ATX-SI0 in vitro and in vivo by means of high sensitive NIR detectors. We obtained the maximum amount of singlet oxygen at irradiation wavelength of 665-670nm from a HeLa tumor in a nude mouse which is injected with ATX-S10.
MODELING OF THE ZODIACAL LIGHT FOR THE AKARI MID-IR ALL-SKY DIFFUSE MAPS
TORU KONDO,DAISUKE ISHIHARA,HIDEHIRO KANEDA,SHINKI OYABU,TOMOYA AMATSUTSU,KEICHIRO NAKAMICHI,Hidetoshi Sano,TAKAFUMI OOTSUBO,TAKASHI ONAKA 한국천문학회 2017 天文學論叢 Vol.32 No.1
The AKARI 9 and 18 $\mu$m diffuse maps reveal the all-sky distribution of the interstellar medium with relatively high spatial resolution of $\sim$6$''$. The zodiacal light is a dominant foreground component in the mid-infrared. Thus, removal of the zodiacal light is a critical issue to study low surface brightness Galactic diffuse emission. We carried out modeling of the zodiacal light based on the Kelsall model which is constructed from the COBE data. In the previous study, only a time-varying component of the zodiacal light brightness was used for determination of the model parameters. However, there remains a residual component of the zodiacal light around the ecliptic plane even after removal with the model. Therefore, instead of using a time-varying component, we use the absolute brightness of the zodiacal light and we find that the new model can better remove the residual component. As a result, the best-fit model parameters are changed from those in the previous study. We discuss the properties of the zodiacal light based on our new result.
Communication Network and Regional Economic Development
TORU KIKUCHI 한국경제연구학회 2004 Korea and the World Economy Vol.5 No.1
Recently Korea showed the signs of a strong economy with sophisticated communications networks (e.g., broadband network services, wireless telecommunications networks): a growing connectivity across regions through networks becomes a crucial factor in determining the performance of the Korean economy. This study develops a multi-region model that captures the role of communications networks in enhancing interregional trade in intermediate business services. A link between the adoption of communications networks and improved regional performance is explored. The paper also examines the relationship between interregional trade in business services and international trade in goods.
