Kuflu cheese, a popular variety of traditional Turkish mold-ripened cheeses, is characterized by its semi-hard texture and blue-green color. It is important to elucidate the microbiota of Kuflu cheese produced from raw milk to standardize and sustain its sensory properties. This study aimed to examine the bacteria, yeasts, and filamentous mold communities in Kuflu cheese using high-throughput amplicon sequencing based on 16S and ITS2 regions. Lactococcus, Streptococcus, and Staphylococcus were the most dominant bacterial genera while Bifidobacterium genus was found to be remarkably high in some Kuflu cheese samples. Penicillium genus dominated the filamentous mold biota while the yeasts with the highest relative abundances were detected as Debaryomyces, Pichia, and Candida. The genera Virgibacillus and Paraliobacillus, which were not previously reported for mold-ripened cheeses, were detected at high relative abundances in some Kuflu cheese samples. None of the genera that include important food pathogens like Salmonella, Campylobacter, Listeria were detected in the samples. This is the first experiment in which the microbiota of Kuflu cheeses were evaluated with a metagenomic approach. This study provided an opportunity to evaluate Kuflu cheese, which was previously examined for fungal composition, in terms of both pathogenic and beneficial bacteria.
Merge-and-forward: a cooperative multimedia transmissions protocol using RaptorQ codes

Recently, nodes cooperation has emerged as a popular means for improving the quality of multimedia delivery over fifth-generation cellular networks. However, in the conventional relaying scheme such as amplify-and-forward (AaF), there is a higher probability of duplicate packets at the receiver node which affect the decoding probability and consequently deteriorate the quality of multimedia transmission. In this study, the authors propose a cooperative multimedia transmission protocol based on a novel merge-and-forward relaying and the best relay selection (RS) schemes. Their best RS scheme is based on two important parameters: (i) two-hop link distances and (ii) minimum block error rate value. Moreover, to combat the packet loss for enhanced and reliable video delivery, they adopt application layer forward error correction scheme which is based on the most improved and advanced version of fountain codes (i.e. RaptorQ codes). They evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme under different time-sharing scenarios between the direct and best indirect transmission links in terms of decoding failure probability, decoding overhead, peak signal-to-noise ratio, and mean opinion score. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional AaF relaying scheme.

A Relationship of Sex Hormone Levels and Erectile Dysfunction: Which Tests Should Be Done Routinely?
Talha M?ezzino?lu,Bilal G?m??,G?khan Temelta?,Zeki Arı,Co?kun B?y?ksu 연세대학교의과대학 2007 Yonsei medical journal Vol.48 No.6
Purpose: In this study, the relationship between sex hormone levels and erectile dysfunction (ED), as well as the necessity of routinely measuring sex hormone levels were evaluated. Materials and Methods: This study included one hundred patients admitted to a urology clinic for sexual dysfunction. To determine the hormone levels, following the history (included IIEF-5 score) and physical examination, triple blood samples were collected at intervals of 15 minutes between 08:00 and 10:00 am. Total and free testosterone, prolactin, follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone levels were studied. Results: Mean age was 43 (23-80) years. IIEF-5 score was less than 21 [9.8-4.3 (3-19)] in all study groups. There was a statistically significant correlation between tT and FSH, as well as between LH and FSH in Pearson (r =-0.513, p<0.001, respectively) and also in Spearman tests (r=-0.224, p=0.042 and r=-0.459, p<0.001, respectively). However, there was no correlation between age and serum hormone levels (p>0.05). Of the 100 patients, 18 (18%) had low tT, 77 (77%) had normal and 5 (5%) had high tT levels. No statistically significant correlation was found between decreased libido and tT levels (p>0.05). Twelve (66.6%) of the 18 patients with low tT had normal libido. Conclusion: Analyzing the medical history in detail and performing a thorough physical examination can reduce the need for excessive studies and consultations, and enables patients to save time and costs.
IBN-based: AI-driven Multi-Domain e2e Network Orchestration Approach
Talha Ahmed Khan,AFAQ MUHAMMAD,기자르 아바쓰,송왕철 한국통신학회 2020 KNOM Review Vol.23 No.2
Networks are growing faster than ever before causing a multi-domain complexity. The diversity, variety and dynamic nature of network traffic and services require enhanced orchestration and management approaches. While many standard orchestrators and network operators are resulting in an increase of complexity for handling E2E slice orchestration. Besides, there are multiple domains involved in E2E slice orchestration including access, edge, transport and core network each having their specific challenges. Hence, handling of multi-domain, multi-platform and multi-operator based networking environments manually requires specified experts and using this approach it is impossible to handle the dynamic changes in the network at runtime. Also, the manual approaches towards handling such complexity is always error-prone and tedious. Hence, this work proposes an automated and abstracted solution for handling E2E slice orchestration using an intent-based approach. It abstracts the domains from the operators and enable them to provide their orchestration intention in the form of high-level intents. Besides, it actively monitors the orchestrated resources and based on current monitoring stats using the machine learning it predicts future utilization of resources for updating the system states. Resulting in a closed-loop automated E2E network orchestration and management system.

Talha, Muhammad,Asghar, Furqan,Kim, Sung Ho Korean Institute of Intelligent Systems 2016 한국지능시스템학회논문지 Vol.26 No.5
Rapid population growth with high living standards and high electronics use for personal comfort has raised the electricity demand exponentially. To fulfill this elevated demand, conventional energy sources are shifting towards low production cost and long term usable alternative energy sources. Hybrid renewable energy systems (HRES) are becoming popular as stand-alone power systems for providing electricity in remote areas due to advancement in renewable energy technologies and subsequent rise in prices of petroleum products. Wind and solar power are considered feasible replacement to fossil fuels as the prediction of the fuel shortage in the near future, forced all operators involved in energy production to explore this new and clean source of power. Presented paper proposes fuzzy logic based Energy Management System (EMS) for Wind Turbine (WT), Photo Voltaic (PV) and Diesel Generator (DG) hybrid micro-grid configuration. Battery backup system is introduced for worst environmental conditions or high load demands. Dump load along with dump load controller is implemented for over voltage and over speed protection. Fuzzy logic based supervisory control system performs the power flow control between different scenarios such as battery charging, battery backup, dump load activation and DG backup in most intellectual way.

Fault detection and diagnosis is a task to monitor the occurrence of faults and pinpoint the exact location of faults in the system. Fault detection and diagnosis is gaining importance in development of efficient, advanced and safe industrial systems. Three phase inverter is one of the most common and excessively used power electronic system in industries. A fault diagnosis system is essential for safe and efficient usage of these inverters. This paper presents a fault detection technique and fault classification algorithm. A new feature extraction approach is proposed by using three-phase load current in three-dimensional space and neural network is used to diagnose the fault. Neural network is responsible of pinpointing the fault location. Proposed method and experiment results are presented in detail.
