        전후 세계질서에 대한 중국의 시각 ― 1940년대 전반 쑨커(孫科)의 전후세계론을 중심으로

        This study analyzes China’s main attitude to the post-war order in the early 1940s, and attempts to critically grasp the China’s perspective on the world order after world War II. The first half of 1940 was a period when the idea of world order after the end of the war began to be formed in earnest, by primarily the United States and the United Kingdom, along with the Second World War. With the outbreak of World War II, The Sino-Japanese War, which had been ongoing since Lukouchiao incident broke out in 1937, changed from a war between the two countries, China and Japan to a war between the Axis and the Allied nations, and changed from a national war for national liberation to a global anti-fascist war. In order to reorganize the postwar world order, President Roosevelt of the United States elevated China’s international status, which was located on the periphery of the international community, into the world’s four strong powers. This enabled China to play a central role in the reorganization of the world or regional order after World War II. This change in international status of China and changes in international relations made China took an active interest in the world order design after World War II, and presented concrete ideas from China’s point of view. Until now, research on the post-war order has been mainly focused on the relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union. However, China not only had a clear position on the new order in China and the Pacific region, especially the issue of independence in the colonized region, but also had a considerable influence on the ideas of the United States and the Soviet Union. In particular, China’s position on world order after World War II was the first to express its view on world order after China emerged as a world power. It also has important implications for understanding China’s perspective on the world and the Asian region, not only then but also now. And it can be said that it has considerable meaning in understanding how China perceived the colonized countries around China at the time, and how it changed the order in the Asia-Pacific region after World War II. Therefore, in this thesis, China’s position and initiatives are mainly analyzed, focusing on the post-World War II world peace regime and the Asia-Pacific regional order.

        Characterization of distinct mutation patterns by CRISPR-Cas9 and CRISPR-Cpf1 genome editing systems

        Backgrounds: The differences of DNA mutation patterns of genome editing by CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats)-Cas9 and CRISPR-Cpf1 is not completely understood. Methods: CRISPR-Cas9 or CRISPR-Cpf1 is applied for genome editing at the exact same four genomic locations in human embryonic kidney 293T (HEK293T) cells. The mutation patterns of the target genomic loci were analyzed by targeted deep sequencing. Results: The mutation patterns of CRISPR-Cas9 and CRISPR-Cpf1 showed prominent differences. CRISPR- Cpf1 mediated genome engineering almost always resulted in deletion, while CRISPR-Cas9 showed remarkably high rate of insertion mutation of 1 base pair. The deletion patterns of CRISPR-Cas9 and CRISPR- Cpf1 were also different. The deletion patterns of CRISPR-Cas9 were composed of diverse and evenly distributed deletion patterns, while the mutation patterns of CRISPR-Cpf1 were composed of fewer major patterns. Conclusion: Genome editing by CRISPR-Cas9 and CRISPR-Cpf1 shows different characteristics.

      • No-Reference Sharpness Assessment of Camera-Shaken Images by Analysis of Spectral Structure

        <P>The tremendous explosion of image-, video-, and audio-enabled mobile devices, such as tablets and smart-phones in recent years, has led to an associated dramatic increase in the volume of captured and distributed multimedia content. In particular, the number of digital photographs being captured annually is approaching 100 billion in just the U.S. These pictures are increasingly being acquired by inexperienced, casual users under highly diverse conditions leading to a plethora of distortions, including blur induced by camera shake. In order to be able to automatically detect, correct, or cull images impaired by shake-induced blur, it is necessary to develop distortion models specific to and suitable for assessing the sharpness of camera-shaken images. Toward this goal, we have developed a no-reference framework for automatically predicting the perceptual quality of camera-shaken images based on their spectral statistics. Two kinds of features are defined that capture blur induced by camera shake. One is a directional feature, which measures the variation of the image spectrum across orientations. The second feature captures the shape, area, and orientation of the spectral contours of camera shaken images. We demonstrate the performance of an algorithm derived from these features on new and existing databases of images distorted by camera shake.</P>

        Evaluation of laboratory diagnostic tests for light-chain clonality and bone marrow findings in AL amyloidosis

        Background Light-chain amyloidosis (AL) is the most common form of systemic amyloidosis. This study aimed to evaluate the usefulness of laboratory tests for light-chain clonality and bone marrow (BM) findings in AL amyloidosis. Methods We retrospectively enrolled patients newly diagnosed with AL amyloidosis on pathological examination who underwent a BM biopsy. Laboratory test data for light-chain clonality were collected and compared. Amyloid deposits were identified with H&E, Congo red, and PAS stains. Results We reviewed 98 patients with AL amyloidosis. Light chain clonality (λ, 64 cases; κ, 34 cases) was detected by serum immunofixation electrophoresis (IFE) (63.3%), urine IFE (70.8%), serum protein electrophoresis (PEP) (44.9%), urine PEP (44.8%), serum free light chain (SFLC) ratio (79.5%), and BM immunohistochemistry (IHC) (85.7%). Flow cytometric (FCM) assay identified aberrant BM plasma cells in 92.9% of cases. BM amyloid deposits were identified in 35 of the 98 cases (35.7%); 71.4% (25/35) were Congo red-positive, and 100.0% (35/35) were PAS-positive. Conclusion Laboratory tests for detecting light-chain clonality in AL amyloidosis in order of sensitivity include FCM assay for aberrant plasma cells, IHC for light chains on BM biopsy or clot section, SFLC ratio, and serum and urine IFE. Congo red staining of BM samples remains an important tool for identifying amyloid deposits in BM. Periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) staining can be useful in diagnosing some cases of Congo red-negative amyloidosis.

        Blind Sharpness Prediction Based on Image-Based Motion Blur Analysis

        <P>For high bit rate video, it is important to acquire the video contents with high resolution, the quality of which may be degraded due to the motion blur from the movement of an object(s) or the camera. However, conventional sharpness assessments are designed to find focal blur caused either by defocusing or by compression distortion targeted for low bit rates. To overcome this limitation, we present a no-reference framework of a visual sharpness assessment (VSA) for high-resolution video based on the motion and scene classification. In the proposed framework, the accuracy of the sharpness estimation can be improved via pooling weighted by the visual perception from the object and camera movements and by the strong influence from the region with the highest sharpness. Based on the motion blur characteristics, the variance and the contrast over the spectral domain are used to quantify the perceived sharpness. Moreover, for the VSA, we extract the highly influential sharper regions and emphasize them by utilizing the scene adaptive pooling. Based on the subjective results, we demonstrate that the VSA can measure the video sharpness more accurately than other sharpness measurements for high-resolution video.</P>

        Life-Threatening Simultaneous Bilateral Spontaneous Tension Pneumothorax − A case report −

        Spontaneous pneumothorax is a common clinical problem in emergency care. However, the overall incidences of primary spontaneous pneumothorax has been reported from as low as 1.4% to 7.6%. The clinical findings of simultaneous bilateral spontaneous pneumothorax can be variable. Clinical presentation is variable, ranging from mild dyspnea to tension pneumothorax. Bilateral tension pneumothorax can defined as cases where no tracheal deviation is detected in chest X-ray, and symptoms may be equal bilaterally. Herein, we present a case with simultaneous bilateral tension pneumothorax, severely deteriorated (i.e. with loss of consciousness, cyanosis, and hemodynamically unstable), that was successfully treated with immediate large-size needle decompression.
