      • 北漢山의 植物資源調査硏究 : 第1部 管束植物 Resources in Mt. Buk-Han PartⅠTracheophyta

        鄭台鉉,李愚喆 成均館大學校 1962 論文集 Vol.7 No.-

Mt. Buk-han is located in the northern side of Seoul, Korea; whose flara has been seriously destroyed due to the population increase of the city the constant Mountain climbers. The Plants of this mountain were first collected by Gotlsche, C. in 1883 when he collecetd plants in the entire vicinity of Seoul, and the flora of this mountain has been partly surveyed by several scholars, but no one has ever comprehensively surveyed the flora of this mountain as such. The writers is now presenting the results of their 9 times survey made from 1961 to 1962 as a part I of the entire flora specified as Tracheophyta. The result of this study is as follows: 1) The plants of Mt. Buk-han are composed of 114 families, 228 genera, 347 species, 94 varieties, 9 forma and 450 kind in all. 2) As the population of Seoul City has increased and their footprints got frequent, a disorder of the original flora of this mountain has occurred; Buxus Koreana, Utricularia bifida, Lactuca chelidonifolia, Sasamorpha purpurascens var. borealis have been disappeared consequently. 3) Comparing the flora of Mt. Buk-han with that of other mountains, 262 species were in common with Mt. Hanla (Ir. Querpart), 142 species are with Ir. Dagelet (Ulneung), 226 species with Mt. Sulak, and 18 species with Mt. Baek-doo. These facts show that the sothern floral elements such as Cocculus trilobus, Akebia quinata, Achgranthes japonica, Zelkova serrata, Viburnum erosum var. punctatum are believed to thrive in Mt. Buk-han which is in accord with northern line of temperate zone T. Nakai had named by means of climate of Korea.

Factors Affecting the Intention to Distribute in Sort Plastic Waste of Vietnamese People: A Case Study in Ho Chi Minh City

Thai Dinh TRUONG(Thai Dinh TRUONG ),Thich Van NGUYEN(Thich Van NGUYEN ) 한국유통과학회 2023 유통과학연구 Vol.21 No.8

Purpose: This paper (1) identifies the factors that affect people's changing habits towards waste sorting, (2) evaluates the benefits of waste sorting to the environment and (3) designs communication strategies to change people's behavior and habits in sorting plastic waste in Ho Chi Mnh City, Vietnam. Research design, data and methodology: Using the data from 309 people that are living in Ho Chi Minh City and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), to evaluate variables and test the hypotheses. Results: Research results show that attitudes, subjective standards, behavioral control, and facilities affect people's intention to classify plastic waste. We find that environmental concerns greatly influence people's attitudes. In contrast, environmental concerns have a relatively weaker effect on people's degree of behavioral control. Conclusion: Environmental protection is a matter of concern in the world. In Vietnam, this issue has been institutionalized into law to create a basis for improving the effectiveness of environmental protection activities. This article has some limitations. Firstly, sample is limited to HCMC residents; the study results are not representative of the entire population of Vietnam. This paper is based on cross-sectional data, which is not the best way to establish a causal relationship between the intention to sort plastic waste and its drivers.

Critical Factors on Forest Land Management in Vietnam

Thai Yen TRAN(Thai Yen TRAN ),Phuong Nam PHAM(Phuong Nam PHAM ) 한국유통과학회 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.9

The study aims to determine the influencing factors and their impact on the management of the forest land used for production allotted to peasant households and proposes solutions to improve its management. Secondary data was calculated until the end of 2019 at state agencies. The primary data was collected through 2 steps. To determine the factors influencing forest land management for production, step one involved a survey of 100 households that were given access to forest land. Step 2 involved a survey of 215 households to determine how factors impacted the Likert scale’s five levels. The study also used a multivariate regression model and SPSS24.0 software to determine the impact rates of factor groups. The study indicated 43 factors that belong to 11-factor groups affecting the management of forest land for production. The policy and legal factors group is the most influential, with an impact rate of 12.72%, followed by 10 other factor groups with impact rates ranging from 4.08% to 11.74%. The solutions include improving policies and laws, strengthening the dissemination of policies and laws; encouraging investment, completing cadastral work, intensifying inspection, examination, and sanctioning of administrative violations of land, upgrading the infrastructure system, and ensuring enough human resources to manage forest land.

Developing a Green Route Model for Dry Port Selection in Vietnam

Hoang Thai Pham,이향숙 한국해운물류학회 2019 The Asian journal of shipping and Logistics Vol.35 No.2

The dry port can smooth the movement of cargo and eliminate capacity pressure, natural restriction and externalities faced by seaports. A network of dry ports also can reduce the amount of pollution emitted from logistics activities by allowing the increasing share of environmentally friendly modes of transport. The paper suggests a green routing model for dry port selection to increases the percentage of using rail or inland waterway transportation in the journey through dry port, instead of road transportation. This model reduces the amount of emission from logistics activities, such as carbon dioxide (CO2), nitric oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) with the minimum cost, considering both the emission charge and the shipping charge. A case study is conducted for Samsung Thai Nguyen factory in the North of Vietnam to validate the model application. The results indicate that the smallest total cost route saves up to 51% of CO2 and 36.5% of PM emission exhausted than unimodal road transportation. The research provides a useful guideline for new green transport policies of public agents as well as decision-making processes in private companies.

Temporal and spatial outlier detection in wireless sensor networks

Hoc Thai Nguyen,Nguyen Huu Thai 한국전자통신연구원 2019 ETRI Journal Vol.41 No.4

Outlier detection techniques play an important role in enhancing the reliability of data communication in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Considering the importance of outlier detection in WSNs, many outlier detection techniques have been proposed. Unfortunately, most of these techniques still have some potential limitations, that is, (a) high rate of false positives, (b) high time complexity, and (c) failure to detect outliers online. Moreover, these approaches mainly focus on either temporal outliers or spatial outliers. Therefore, this paper aims to introduce novel algorithms that successfully detect both temporal outliers and spatial outliers. Our contributions are twofold: (i) modifying the Hampel Identifier (HI) algorithm to achieve high accuracy identification rate in temporal outlier detection, (ii) combining the Gaussian process (GP) model and graph‐based outlier detection technique to improve the performance of the algorithm in spatial outlier detection. The results demonstrate that our techniques outperform the state‐of‐the‐art methods in terms of accuracy and work well with various data types.

The Influence of Responsibility Shift on Warehousing Performance: The Case of Australia

        Vinh V. THAI,Vinh V. THAI,Zaheed HALIM 한국해운물류학회 2019 The Asian journal of shipping and Logistics Vol.35 No.1

Although there have been extensive efforts to eliminate the use of warehousing due to its large requirement of resources, the need to connect manufacturing with end consumers will be difficult to coordinate without it. In Australia, the rapid advance of warehousing has facilitated the challenging demands of customers. In the literature, the challenges of increasing reliability, space utilisation, and reducing waste have been managed through improved warehousing processes and technology; however, the important role of employees through responsibility shift in enhancing warehousing performance has not yet been fully explored. This study therefore examines the relationship between the employment of Responsibility Shift (RS) and Warehousing Performance (WP) in Australia within the processes of Inbounding and Storage through the usage of a survey conducted with department supervisors and managers of warehousing companies which were members of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Australia (CILTA) and Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA). It was found that RS positively causes a statistically significant influence on warehousing performance. This research contributes to enrich the literature on RS as it is perhaps the first study which examines the effects of RS on warehousing performance in Australia while also enables warehousing managers to explore ways to improve warehousing performance from the human resource management perspective. Although being significant both in terms of managerial and academic implications, the generalizability of this research is limited from a small sample size. Future research, therefore, needs to look into a wider population as well as further investigation into the effects of Responsibility Shift in the rapidly developing warehousing business environment elsewhere in the world.

      • Safety assessment of an underground tunnel subjected to missile impact using numerical simulations

        Duc-Kien Thai,Duy-Liem Nguyen,Thanh-Tung Pham,Thai-Hoan Pham 사단법인 한국계산역학회 2021 Computers and Concrete, An International Journal Vol.27 No.1

This work presents a safety assessment of an underground tunnel subjected to a ballistic missile attack employing the numerical approach. For the impact simulation, a box shaped reinforced concrete (RC) structure with a cross section dimension of 8.0×10.0 m under a soil layer that was attacked by a SCUD missile was modeled using finite element (FE) software LS-DYNA. SCUD missile is one of a series of tactical ballistic missiles developed by Soviet Union during the Cold War, which is adopted for a short-range ballistic missile. The developed FE simulation for the penetration depth of the missile impacting into the soil structure was verified from the well-known formula of the penetration prediction. The soil-structure interaction, the soil type, and the impact missile velocity effects on the penetration depth of the missile into the different soil types were investigated. The safety assessment of the underground tunnel was performed with regard to the different depths of the underground tunnel. For each missile velocity and soil type, a specific depth called the unsafe depth was obtained from the analysis results. The structure beneath the soil beyond this depth remains safe. The unsafe depth was found to be increased with the increasing missile velocity.

A High-Quality Reversible Image Authentication Scheme Based on Adaptive PEE for Digital Images

        ( Thai-son Nguyen ),( Chin-chen Chang ),( Tso-hsien Shih ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.1

Image authentication is a technique aiming at protecting the integrity of digital images. Reversible image authentication has attracted much attention of researcher because it allows to authenticate tampered regions in the image and to reconstruct the stego image to its original version losslessly. In this paper, we propose a new, reversible image authentication scheme based on adaptive prediction error expansion (PEE) technique. In the proposed scheme, each image block is classified into smooth or complex regions. Then, according to the characteristic of each block, the authentication code is embedded adaptively to achieve high performance of tamper detection. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed scheme achieves good quality of stego images. In addition, the proposed scheme has ability to reconstruct the stego image to its original version, if no modification is performed on it. Also demonstrated in the experimental results, the proposed scheme provides higher accuracy of tamper detection than state-of-the-art schemes.
