Optimization of Finite Element Retina by GA for Plant Growth Neuro Modeling

The development of bio-response feedback control system known as the speaking plant approach has been a challenging task for plant production engineers and scientists. In order to achieve the aim of developing such a bio-response feedback control system, the primary concern should be to develop a practical non-invasive technique for monitoring plant growth. Those who are skilled in raising plants can sense whether their plants are under adequate water conditions or not, for example, by merely observing minor color and tone changes before the plants wilt. Consequently, using machine vision, it may be possible to recognize changes in indices that describe plant conditions based on the appearance of growing plants. The interpretation of image information of plants may be based on image features extracted from the original pictorial image. In this study, the performance of a finite element retina was optimized by a genetic algorithm. The optimized finite element retina was evaluated based on the performance of neural plant growth monitor that requires input data given by the finite element retina.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Cooperation among self-interested players in a social dilemma is fragile and easily interrupted by mistakes. In this work, we study the repeated <I>n</I>-person public-goods game and search for a strategy that forms a cooperative Nash equilibrium in the presence of implementation error with a guarantee that the resulting payoff will be no less than any of the co-players’. By enumerating strategic possibilities for n = 3 , we show that such a strategy indeed exists when its memory length <I>m</I> equals three. It means that a deterministic strategy can be publicly employed to stabilize cooperation against error with avoiding the risk of being exploited. We furthermore show that, for general <I>n</I>-person public-goods game, <I>m</I> ≥ <I>n</I> is necessary to satisfy the above criteria.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We propose strategies to stabilize cooperation in the iterated public-goods game. </LI> <LI> They can recover cooperation in the presence of implementation error. </LI> <LI> They are secured from repeated exploitation. </LI> <LI> They suppress neutral drift to unconditional cooperation. </LI> <LI> For an <I>n</I>-person case, the memory length of such strategies cannot be less than <I>n</I>. </LI> </UL> </P>
유기분자막을 이용한 고분자 (PET, PC) 표면의 기능성 부여에 관한 연구

고분자는 다양한 산업 분야에 응용되고 있으며, 표면의 기능화 처리로 그 응용 분야를 넓히는 것이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 고분자 (PC, PET) 표면에 N - (2 -aminoethyl) 3 -aminopropyl trimethoxysilane (AEAPS) 분자막을 Thermal CVD법에 의해 형성 시키고, XPS와 수적접 촉각을 이용하여 표면 상태를 측정하였다. 또한, AEAPS 분자막에 Carboxy acid과 Pd 이온의 흡착 실험을 통해 고분자 표면에서의 amino기 작용에 대한 연구를 하였다.
Constitutive Relations of Thin-Walled Members for Impact Collapse

This study develops impact collapse problem of thin-walled members as follows: 1) A visco-plastic constitutive equation was expressed for characteristics after collapse of local buckling. 2) Experiments of impact collapse were done under eccentric compression load for square tubes. 3) Using the experimental data, the constitutive equation was shown to be practically useful.
