        • Usage of DOI to Improve Profitability in Contents Distribution

          When content is presented within an appropriate context, that exposure for digital contents providers is most effective. We research on how DOI could increase the profitability of content distribution strategies. We examine traditional works of distribution channels and setup DOI-enabled scenarios.

        • Plans for practical utilization of UCC

          The commercialization of UCC was already initiated, and there are some successful cases like 'YouTube.' However, the development level of UCC is not mature, stable yet. It's because most of the UCC users are young people and the contents are mainly about humor, funny, minor story. In other words, the practical use of UCC is not totally popularized but partly active. Therefore we want to think out 'how UCC can be utilized by many people and applicable to many industries.' UCC has enough possibility to be advanced, and it will greatly influence the society. In this paper, we will first explain Web 2.0 and the present conditions of online movies. After analyzing the problems and limitation of today, we will propose some suggestions for plans for practical utilization of UCC.

        • Practical Use of Contents Distribution Models on the Basis of UCI

          UCI is contributing to establishing and administrating CMS to improve the quality of contents efficiently and effectively. In these days, enterprises are also making a new try to manage copyrights of digital contents by use of DRM(Digital Right Management). UCI would be a good solution to solve this overburden. The objective of our research is to study on practical uses of various digital contents models on the basis of UCI. We introduce two business cases; one is publishment of digital contents and the other is DB service of digital contents.

          This paper describes Cross reference services in Knowledge contents based on UCI. Cross references are effective features that can increase the value of the contents. Knowledge contents include academic papers. research reports. archives. historical and cultural heritage, and professional databases. Cross references are consists of reference-to and cited-by links which can be made by reference list in article. Some of cross reference services provided are considered. We designed cross reference services for knowledge contents in Korea and prototype services are provided. The reference linking service in the area of national R&D will enable the linking of heterogeneous information produced at different sources.

        • Establishment of a Contents Distribution Model on the Basis of UCI

          Many enterprises have various business models with the distribution structure on the basis of UCI. However, this tries are performed locally. So, there are still many side-effects for other enterprises to share contents mutually. We propose a contents distribution model on the basis of UCI. We first research on contents syndicator and its requirements. And the we establish a standard model for contents distribution.

        • Design of Identification Metadata for UCI

          Although UCI Identification metadata is not represented in the UCI syntax, it means a set of elements that enable users to easily and quickly identify. Against this backdrop, we research on how to design identification metadata for UCI. First of all, we check ISO/IEC 11179 and compare this with UCI properties. And then we defines nine components (such as UCI, Identifier, Title, Type, Mode, Format, Contributor, ContributorEntitiy, and ContributorRole) as elements of the identification metadata and establish encoding scheme with several parts (such as List of Encoding Scheme, Encoding Scheme of Identifier, Encoding Scheme of Type, Encoding Scheme of Mode, Encoding Scheme of Format, and Encoding Scheme of ContributorRole).

          빅데이터 환경에서의 B-tree 구조 기반 링크정보 관리서버의 개발

          주요 기업들과 포털들은 사용자들에게 웹 기반 환경에서 보다 효율적인 콘텐츠 이용을 지원하기 위해 이른바 콘텐츠관리시스템(CMS, Contents Management Systems)과 콘텐츠의 데이터베이스 내 물리적 주소를 연결하여 관리하는 링크 서버를 적극적으로 도입하고 있다. 이를 통해 웹브라우저 화면에서 보여지는 콘텐츠의 URL과 실제 데이터베이스 안의 콘텐츠의 물리적 주소를 자동으로 연결해 주고, URL이나 데이터베이스의 물리적 주소의 변경시 두 주소를 재 연결하는 역할을 수행한다. 최근 빅데이터 환경의 도래에 따라 디지털 콘텐츠와 사용자 접속수가 폭발적으로 증가하고 있는 상황에서 CMS와 링크 서버에서 수행해야 하는 유효 링크 검사 횟수도 따라서 증가하고 있다. Peta-Byte 또는 Eta-Byte 환경 하에서 수행되는 유효 링크 검사를 기존 URL 기반의 순차적 방식으로 수행할 경우 속도저하에 따른 데이터 링크 식별률(identification rate)의 저하와 빈번한 링크 검사에 따른 데이터베이스에 부하를 주는 요인으로 작용될 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구는 상기와 같은 종래의 문제점을 해결하기 위해 대량의 URL에 대해 B-Tree 기반의 정보 식별자의 구간별 개수 분석을 기반으로 URL 삭제 링크 및 추가 링크를 인식하고 효과적으로 관리하는 것이 가능하도록 해주는 링크 서버를 제공하는 데 있다. 본 연구를 통해 기존 방식보다 빠르고 낮은 부하를 주는 데드 링크 체크 처리가 가능해 질 것이다. Major corporations and portals have implemented a link server that connects Content Management Systems (CMS) to the physical address of content in a database (DB) to support efficient content use in web-based environments. In particular, a link server automatically connects the physical address of content in a DB to the content URL shown through a web browser screen, and re-connects the URL and the physical address when either is modified. In recent years, the number of users of digital content over the web has increased significantly because of the advent of the Big Data environment, which has also increased the number of link validity checks that should be performed in a CMS and a link server. If the link validity check is performed through an existing URL-based sequential method instead of petabyte or even etabyte environments, the identification rate of dead links decreases because of the degradation of validity check performance; moreover, frequent link checks add a large amount of workload to the DB. Hence, this study is aimed at providing a link server that can recognize URL link deletion or addition through analysis on the B-tree-based Information Identifier count per interval based on a large amount of URLs in order to resolve the existing problems. Through this study, the dead link check that is faster and adds lower loads than the existing method can be performed.

          Big Data-oriented Analysis on Issues of the Hyper-connected Society

          현 시점은 초연결 혁명의 여명기로 미래연구를 통하여, 초연결사회의 기술ㆍ경제와 관련된 이슈를 도출하고, 신산업 육성과 고용창출, 생산성 · 효율성 · 창의성 제고 방안 수립이 필요하다. 또한, 국가정책 반영을 위한 미래연구에는 유망기술동향 모니터링을 통한 핵심키워드와 미래사회전망에 근거한 수요가 반영된 미래 이슈ㆍ아젠다 도출이 필수 요소이다. 이에 본 연구는 정량적 데이터 분석을 기반으로 미래 초연결 사회의 모습을 조망하고, 미래 사회에 주목해야 할 ICT 키워드를 탐색하였다. 또한 초연결 한국사회의 구현을 위하여 추구해야 할 ICT 기반의 핵심 이슈선정 및 이슈별 전략 제시한다. 본 연구는 다음과 같이 진행된다. 첫째, ‘초연결’ 관련된 웹사이트, 문서, 자료들을 검색 및 수집하고, 둘째, 빈도분석과 토픽분석을 통한 초연결 미래사회 핵심용어 도출하며, 마지막으로, 소셜네트워크분석을 통하여 주요 미래이슈별 전략 수립할 것이다. Since the present point is the dawning of hyper-connection, we should research on the future in order to deduct issues related to technology and economy in the hyper-connected society, develop new industries, create jobs, and set up a method to increase productivity, efficiency or creativity. The future researches to be applied to national policies need to deduct future issues and agendas that reflect future-oriented demands as well as core keywords through monitoring hopeful technology trends. With this background, we will survey on hyper-connected society in the future on the basis of quantitative data analysis and explore ICT keywords which claim our attention in the future. And then, we will choose core issues on the basis of ICT and their strategies so as to realize hyper-connected Korea society. Our researches are as follows; 1) searching for and collecting Web sites, documents, and data related to hyper-connection, 2) deducting core terms of hyper-connected future society through frequency analysis and topic analysis, and 3) setting up major strategy for each future issue through social network analysis.

          A Roadmap for Developing Digital Content Distribution Infrastructure

          Unlike physical products, the distribution of digital content has involved many participants in all distribution phases from providers to consumers. The longer the distribution channel for services is, or the more participants that take part in it, the more the added value of the content increases. Consequently, the customer usefulness has been maximized. In order to enhance the values of digital content, it is utterly urgent to implement a service infrastructure that could be shared by all participants along the distribution path. Digital content is distributed from a creator to a final user through complex value chain stages. All the participants along the value chain exchange information about copyrights, marketing, and contents themselves, through the distribution channel. Recently, the more the distributed Information Technology environment has been widely used, the more the necessity of an identifier for digital content has been increased. In this paper, we examine the current status of the Korean distribution market of digital content, identify necessary distribution services of digital content, and establish a systematic roadmap to implement these services.
