        A study on the analysis of O-ring under uniform squeeze rate and internal pressure by photoelastic experimental hybrid method

        There are three kinds of loading conditions applied to the O-ring, The first loading condition is the case in which uniform squeeze rates are applied to the upper side and the lower side of the O-ring (the strain condition). The second loading condition is the case in which uniform squeeze rates are applied to the upper side and the lower side of the Oring and other squeeze rates are applied to the front side of the O-ring. The third loading condition is the case in which uniform squeeze rates are applied to the upper side and the lower side of the O-ring, other squeeze rates are applied to the front side of the O-ring, and internal pressures are applied to another front side of the O-ring(loading condition is the combination of stress condition and the strain condition). In this research, a new photoelastic experimental hybrid method under the third loading condition was developed and it was verified. The stresses of the O-ring under the third loading condition were analyzed by the new photoelastic experimental hybrid method developed in this research. The internal pressures applied to the O-ring were 0.98 MPa, 1.96 MPa, 2.94 MPa and 3.92 MPa.

        Contact stress of O-ring under uniform squeeze rate by photoelastic experimental hybrid method

        In this paper, photoelastic experimental hybrid methods using the external traction free boundary condition and that using the relative equation of two stress functions in contact problems are developed. The validities of these two methods are confirmed through experiments and discussions. Hertz’s contact theory and the two photoelastic experimental hybrid methods explained are applied to the analysis of the contact stress of an O-ring under 10% or 20% squeeze rate. The photoelastic experimental hybrid method using the relative equation of two stress functions in contact problems was found to be more effective. When the squeeze rates of an O-ring were 10% or 20%, the maximum of absolute te σ x was greater than the maximum of absolute σ y , but was almost equal. Maximums of absolute τ xy were 1 8 of absolute σ x and 1 5 of absolute σ x when the squeeze rates of the O-ring were 10% and 20%, respectively.

        NGIS projects have been widely proceeded by the central and municipal governments, and the higher cost for proceeding the NGIS projects emphasizes the importance of the data sharing among related agencies. For supporting data sharing, effective data generation, and management. 'THE GUIDELINE FOR MANAGING AND DOCUMENTING GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION CATALOGUES' has been established and enforced since the year 2002. Although metadata for distributing geographic information through the NGIS distribution network has already been installed, this needs to be complimented to maximize the data utilization. Based on such requirements, a draft standard of the national metadata which is compliant with the ISO 19115 has been proposed from this study. All components of the metadata for distributing geographic information have been included and related metadata items for the management purpose have been derived from domestic and foreign studies. Based on this, draft national metadata standards comprised of 13 sections have been made. The metadata standards from this study could contribute to building basic standards to access and to utilize geographic information in various application field. This would also be fundamental base for activating GIS in public and private sectors. 중앙정부나 지자체를 중심으로 국가지리정보체계(NGIS)구축사업이 광범위하게 추진되고 있는 지금, 지리정보구축에 소요되는 비용에 대한 부담으로 인해 각 기관들에 산재된 지리정보의 공동 활용이 매우 중요시되고 있다. 이에 따라 지리정보 생산 및 관리의 효율성과 이용의 활성화를 도모하기 위하여 '지리정보 목록의작성 및 관리에 관한 지침'이 2002년 제정되어 시행되고 있다. 이와 함께 국가지리정보유통망을 통한 지리정보의 활용을 증진하기 위한 유통용 메타데이터 표준이 제정되어 있지만, 지리정보관리기관의 효율적인 지리정보 관리를 위해서는 부족한 부분이 많은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 동 지침에 의거하여 ISO 19115에 부합되는 국가메타데이터 표준(안)을 제시하였다. 제시된 국가메타데이터 표준(안)은 유통용 메타데이터 표준을 모두 수용하고, 기존 메타데이터와의 비교분석을 바탕으로 효율적인 지리정보 관리를 위한 관리용 메타데이터 항목을 추가하여 총 13개 섹션으로 설계되었다. 본 연구에서 제시된 국가메타데이터 표준(안)을 통해서 우선 사용목적에 맞는 다양한 지리정보를 검색하고 활용하기 위한 표준화된 기반이 구축되어 공공부문 및 민간부문의 GIS 활성화를 위한 커다란 초석이 마련될 것으로 판단된다.
