Ultrasonic Degradation of Endocrine Disrupting Compounds in Seawater and Brackish Water

In this study, a series of experiments was conducted on the relative degradation of commonly known endocrine-disrupting compounds such as bisphenol A (BPA) and 17α-ethinyl estradiol (Ee₂) in a single-component aqueous solution using 28 and 580 kHz ultrasonic reactors. The experiments were conducted with three different types of model water: deionized water (DI), synthetic brackish water (SBW), and synthetic seawater (SSW) at pH 4, 7.5, and 11 in the presence of inert glass beads and humic acids. Significantly higher sonochemical degradation (93-97% for BPA) occurred at 580 kHz than at 28 kHz (43-61% for BPA), regardless of water type. A slightly higher degradation was observed for Ee₂ compared to that of BPA. The degradation rate of BPA and Ee₂ in DI water, SBW, and SSW after 30 min of ultrasound irradiation at 580 kHz increased slightly with the increase in pH from 4 (0.073-0.091 min-1 for BPA and 0.081-0.094 min-1 for Ee₂) to 7.5 (0.087-0.114 min-1 for BPA and 0.092?0.124 min-1 for Ee₂). In contrast, significant degradation was observed at pH 11 (0.149-0.221 min-1 for BPA and 0.147-0.228 min-1 for Ee₂). For the given frequencies of 28 and 580 kHz, the degradation rate increased in the presence of glass beads (0.1 mm and 25 g) for both BPA and Ee₂: 0.018-0.107 min-1 without beads and 0.052-0.142 min-1 with beads for BPA; 0.021-0.111 min-1 without beads and 0.054-0.136 min-1 with beads for Ee₂. A slight increase in degradation of both BPA and Ee₂ was found as the concentration of dissolved organic carbon (DOC, humic acids) increased in both SBW and SSW: 0.107-0.115 min-1 in SBW and 0.087-0.101 min-1 in SSW for BPA; 0.111-0.111 min-1 in SWB and 0.092-0.105 min-1 in SSW for Ee₂. After 30 min of sonicating the humic acid solution, DOC removal varied depending on the water type: 27% (3 mg L-1) and 7% (10 mg L-1) in SBW and 7% (3 mg L-1) and 4% (10 mg L-1) in SSW.
IGCC용 고온건식 탈화제의 반응속도 모사에 관한 연구

고온건식 탈황공정에서 탈황제의 황화, 재생 반응은 비촉매 기고 반응이다. 이러한 비촉매 기고 반응의 수학적 모사는 실험데이터의 설명, 공정의 설계 그리고 scale-up에 있어서 매우 중요한 정보가 된다. 탈황제의 황화, 재생 반응에는 spray dryer로 제조된 zinc titanate 탈황제를 사용하였고, 변형된 미반응핵 모델식에 적용하여 각 반응의 반응속도를 해석한 결과 탈황제의 황화반응에는 화학반응 저항과 고체 상태의 확산 저항이 회합하여 전체반응속도를 지배하며, 이때 반응속도상수는 367.67cm/min 이었고 고체상태의 확산계수는 29.66cm²/min이었다. 또한 재생반응시에 는 화학반응 저항만이 전체반응의 저항으로 관여하며, 이때의 반응속도상수는 3.45x10e cm/min이었다. In the dry-type high temprature gas desulfurization process, sulfidation and regeneration reactions of desulfrrization sorbents are noncatalytic gas-solid reactions. The mathematical modeling of noncatalytic gas-solid reactions is improtant in order to interpret laboratory data and in design and scale-up. Zinc titanate sorbent to manufacture by spray dryer is used in sulfidation and regeneration reactions of desulfuization sorbents. The result which analyzes reaction rate of sulfidation reaction by applying each reactions to modified unreacted core model is that the global reaction rate is controlled by associating with chemical reaction resistance and solid state diffusion resistance. In this case,reaction rate constant is367.67e cm/min and solid state diffusion coefficient is 29.66e cm²/min Also gloval reaction rate of regeneration reaction is controlled only by chemical reaction resistance. In this case, reaction rate constant is 3.45x10e cm/min.

Plant genetic engineering has led to the production of plant-derived mAb (mAbP), which provides a safe and economically feasible alternative to the current antibody expression systems. In this study, the expression levels of mAbP SO57 with or without ER-signal peptides (Lys-Asp-Gly-Leu;KDEL) in transgenic tobacco plants were analysed in transgenic plant. PCR and Reverse Transcription-PCR analyses showed existence of heavy and light chain genes of mAb with or without KEDL and their transcription in plant, respectively. Western blot showed that the expression levels of mAbP SO57 with KDEL were significantly higher than that without KDEL. Flow cytometry analysis showed that the Fc domains of both purified mAbP and mammalian-derived mAb have similar binding activity to the FcγRI receptor. High-performance liquid chromatography analysis showed that the mAbP SO57 with KDEL had glycan profile with both oligomannose and golgi type, whereas the mAbP SO57 without KDEL had only golgi type glycans. Neutralizing analysis with rabies virus CVS-11 showed the similar neutralizing activity between mAbP SO57 with and without KDEL. These results suggest that the potential of mAbP SO57 for rabies immunotherapy is regardless of plant specific glycan structures.

This study was to examine the neuroticism related to psychological characteristics of each Sasang types using SCL-90-R with 107 students from College of Oriental Medicine, Daeguhaani University. We did ANOVA analysis with seven neuroticism-related sub-scales and found significant differences in somatization (F=3.701, p=0.028) and hostility (F=4.396, p=0.015). The post-hoc analysis showed that the So-Yang type (23.17±8.95) has significantly (p=0.048, p=0.012) higher score than Tae-Eum (19.25±5.97) and So-Yang(19.25±5.76) type in somatization. In hostility, the So-yang type (11.31±3.98) has significantly (p=0.011, p=0.015) higher score than Tae-Eum (8.80±2.61) and So-Eum (9.44±3.35) type. The ANOVA analysis with female subjects found significant differences in anxiety (F=3.88, p=0.03) and hostility (F=5.04, p=0.01). The post-hoc analysis showed that the So-Yang type (20.36±5.44, 12.36±3.82) has significantly (p=0.043, p=0.015) higher score compared to the So-Eum type (15.46±3.36, 8.69±2.06) in anxiety and hostility. The profile analysis using seven neuroticism-related subscalesof SCL-90-R did not revealed significant differences (Flatness with Greenhouse-Geisser (F=202.347, p=0.0001), Parallelism with Greenhouse-Geisser (F=1.428, p=0.191)). We discussed the implications of neuroticism in Sasang typology and SCL-90-R somatization, anxiety and hostility scales. This study showed opposite results compared to the previous studies that So-Eum type has higher neuroticism compared to the So-Yang and Tae-Eum type. The reason for this discrepancy between this and previous studies, and differences between male and female should be examined thoroughly with larger and balanced sample.

Background Spingobium sp. PAMC 28499 is isolated from the glaciers of Uganda. Uganda is a unique region where hot areas and glaciers coexist, with a variety of living creatures surviving, but the survey on them is very poor. The genetic character and complete genome information of Sphingobium strains help with environmental studies and the development of better to enzyme industry. Objective In this study, complete genome sequence of Spingobium sp. PAMC 28499 and comparative analysis of Spingobium species strains isolated from variety of the region. Methods Genome sequencingwas performed using PacBio sequel single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing technology. The predicted gene sequences were functionally annotated and gene prediction was carried out using the program NCBI nonredundant database. And using dbCAN2 and KEGG data base were degradation pathway predicted and protein prediction about carbohydrate active enzymes (CAZymes). Results The genome sequence has 64.5% GC content, 4432 coding protein coding genes, 61 tRNAs, and 12 rRNA operons. Its genome encodes a simple set of metabolic pathways relevant to pectin and its predicted degradation protein an unusual distribution of CAZymes with extracellular esterases and pectate lyases. CAZyme annotation analyses revealed 165 genes related to carbohydrate active, and especially we have found GH1, GH2, GH3, GH38, GH35, GH51, GH51, GH53, GH106, GH146, CE12, PL1 and PL11 such as known pectin degradation genes from Sphingobium yanoikuiae. These results confrmed that this Sphingobium sp. strain PAMC 28499 have similar patterns to RG I pectin-degrading pathway. Conclusion In this study, isolated and sequenced the complete genome of Spingobium sp. PAMC 28499. Also, this strain has comparative genome analysis. Through the complete genome we can predict how this strain can store and produce energy in extreme environment. It can also provide bioengineered data by fnding new genes that degradation the pectin

이 논문은 관용적 의미를 갖는 ‘-어’형 합성동사의 형성 및 문법 처리 문제에 대하여 새로운 접근 방식을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 어휘론적 관점에 따르면 합성동사는 어휘부에 등재된, 통사부의 원자적 입력 단위에 해당한다. 그러나 이들은 다양한 측면에서 분리 가능하여, 이른바 어휘 충실성을 위배한다. 이 논문은 분산형태론 관점에서 합성동사를 두 개의 어근이 국면 핵인 v에 결합하는 구조를 이루는 것으로 분석한다. 해당 구조는 통사부 이후 개념접합부에서 하나의 단일한 의미해석 단위를 이루어 비합성적 의미해석의 가능성을 갖게 된다. 이러한 분석은 합성동사가 관용적인 의미해석을 가짐에도 불구하고 분리 가능한, 외견상 모순적인 속성을 자연스럽게 설명해 줄 수 있다. This paper, from the perspective of Distributed Morphology, addresses how to explain idiomatic interpretations of compound verbs in Korean. In terms of the Lexicalist framework, compound verbs are supposed to be syntactic atoms listed in the lexicon. Contrary to this premise, they exhibit the characteristics that are separable in various ways, thus apparently violating the so-called Lexical Integrity Hypothesis. This paper argues that a compound verb has a structure in which a Root phrase consisting of two verb roots is combined with a v, thus forming a single phasal structure. Due to this structure, it may behave as a single unit for a semantic interpretation search implemented after the syntactic operation, so that it can receive an idiomatic reading. According to this analysis, the apparent contradiction that compound verbs are idiomatic in meaning but nevertheless are separable can naturally fall into place.
사상성격검사(SPQ)의 한의학적 활용 현황에 대한 체계적 문헌 분석

Objectives: Operational definition and its validated measure of traditional Korean medicine (TKM) are pivotal for research studies and reliable clinics. There have been ten years of clinical studies on Eum-Yang (Yin-Yang) and Sasang typology using Sasang Personality Questionnaire (SPQ) of integrative biopsychology. The objective of this study was to perform a systematic review on the use of SPQ to provide insights and foundation for its further studies and clinical application. Methods: Clinical studies on SPQ were searched using five domestic and foreign research databases. Attained research articles were then subjected to predefined systematic reviews. Demographic characteristics of participants and research topics of articles were described. Psychological and physical features of SPQ and its subscales were reviewed and compiled to reveal biopsychological characteristics. Results: There were 33 articles with 15,085 participants on Eum-Yang (n=19) and Sasang typology (n=14). The SPQ-total score was in an increasing order of So-Eum, Tae-Eum, and So-Yang. Eum-Yang groups were categorized at a 3:4:3 ratio using %ile score of SPQ-total. The SPQ-total showed a significant positive correlation with Novelty-Seeking and a negative correlation with Harm-Avoidance in psychological perspective, while it was not significantly correlated with Body Mass Index or Ponderal Index in physical perspective. The SPQ-total and subscales explained psychopathological characteristics of stress recognition, negative emotion, problem behavior, and depression. Conclusions: The SPQ was found to be an objective biopsychological measure of TKM for Sasang typology and psychopathology. It would provide foundation for ‘Korean Psychology’ and multidisciplinary studies.

Since the oral cavity is directly connected to the outside, it is an important site for microbial invasion, and since it is an environment that is nutritionally and physiologically easy to multiply bacteria, many bacteria always form bacteriological flora in the oral cavity. And propolis is a natural treatment used in many health food stores in various forms for local treatment. This study analyzes the changes in the activity of five oral microorganisms before and after consumption of propolis for various age groups to find out how propolis, which shows the efficacy of anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and immune sensitization, affects oral microorganisms. Five types of bacteria possessed by periodontal disease patients were specified and digitized targeting the public person, and then before and after propolis intake was compared, and the levels of periodontal disease bacteria in the intake group and the non-consumption group were compared. As a result of comparing the patterns before ingestion (0 week) and after ingestion (3 week) in the oral bacteria analysis, it was confirmed that the bacteria decreased overall except for the five populations in the propolis intake group. In contrast, in the comparative group that did not intake propolis, the bacteria of five periodontal disease increased except for the four populations. What can be seen from this result is that propolis is effective in reducing bacteria in five types of periodontal disease. In order to use propolis as a food for preventing periodontal disease and to get a better effect, further research is needed to find out the mechanism of antibacterial action in propolis compounds.

It is very difficult to control the expansion of reed at a wetland ecological park due to their aggressive reproduction capability. Therefore, proper topography and wetland hydrology should be provided before the construction of a wetland ecological park. Appropriate measures should be taken at the initial stages to prevent reed expansion. Field experiments were conducted at the newly constructed wetland ecological park for 15 months to develop methods to control the reproduction and expansion of Phragmites communis. A complete shading method had the best effect on the prevention of reed reoccurrence among other methods. Complete removal of the rhizomes controlled the reed growth to a greater extent than cutting the aboveground shoots. Water-level manipulation was also better than a half-shading method for the prevention of reed reproduction. These results indicated that soil properties and edge effects can influence the reed growth. Cutting only the aboveground shoots facilitates the growth of reed. These results suggest that reed control should be implemented repeatedly and an alteration in the wetland topography and hydrology may be more effective in the long term. Combination of treatments such as water-level management with shading should be considered to control the growth of reed. Adoptive management for created or restored ecosystem might be considered for accomplishment of its original purpose.

본 연구는 국내에 유통되고 있는 음료류중 중금속 함량을 파악하여 식품공전 제 ·개정시 과학적 기초자료로 활용하고자 수행하였다. 출 2☞7여건의 음료류에 대하여 유도결합플라스마 분광기(ICP), 원자홉광광도 계(AAS) 및 수은분석기 등을 치용하여 납, 카드윰 등 중금속함량을 측정하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다 [단위 : min-ma)t(irran) ; mrk3 ; f : 0.0001-0.0025(0.0003), As :불검출곰.OB45(0.0003), Pb : 불검출-0.0893(0.0041),Cd ' 불검출곤.0064(0.0011), Cfl : 불검출.(i9(0.05), Mn : 불검출글.찌(0.16), Zn : 불검출-12.85(0.뽀), Sn :불검출-45.36(1.97). 본 조사결과 우리나라에서 유통되고 있는 음료류 중 납 등 중금속 함량은 외국의 모니터랑 결과와 유사하였다. 또한 우리나라 국민이 음료류를 통한 중금속 섭취량은 FAO/UTfO에서 설정한 잠 정주간섭취처용량의 약 0.OleO.06% 이하로 매우 낮았다. 편 연구조사에서 먼어진 결과는 음료류 중 납 기준 설정을 위한 중요한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있는 것으로 사료된다. Our results weresimilar to thofe reported by other countries. It is thought that our results could be utilizedimportant references toT es?ablish the standard of lead in beverages.
