First record of Alloclita Staudinger, 1859 (Lepidoptera, Cosmopterigidae) from Korea

Korean Society of Applied Entomology Vol.60 No.3

A cosmopterigid species, Alloclita mongolica Sinev is reported for the first time from Korea. This is the first record of the genus Alloclita Staudinger for the Korean fauna and the southernmost records of A. mongolica. The collecting data of the species in Korea suggest a habitat association of A. mongolica with coastal sand-dunes. The features of external appearance and male genitalia are described and illustrated for this rare species.

        Sinev S. Yu,K. Vol.33 No.3

An annotated list of 33 species belonging to the famil~es Stathmopodidae (7 including 2 unrecorded species), Bamchedridae (a new species: Batrnchedra koreano sp n.), Blastodacnidae (3 including an unrecorded species), and Cosmopterigidae (22 species) from the Korean peninsula is given. For Cosmopterigidae. continuing from the previous artlcle (Park, 1994), 2 species (Cosmopterix bichrorne- 110 sp, n. and Labdio antenello sp. n.) are described as new and 2 species are newly added to the fauna, and all available informations on host plant of lama with a list of all known species in Korea are provided.

Recent progress in studies of the Cladocera (Crustacea: Branchiopoda) of South Korea with seven new records for the Korean Peninsula

        Kotov, Alexey A.,Sinev, Artem Y.,Garibian, Petr G.,Neretina, Anna N.,Jeong, Hyun Gi,Lee, Wonchoel,Chae, Kyu-Seok,Min, Gi-Sik The National Institute of Biological Resources 2017 Journal of species research Vol.6 No.no.spc

A study of the Cladocera (Crustacea: Branchiopoda) from the Korean Peninsula resulted in the checklist of Jeong et al. (2014). Several sampling campaigns conducted by our team since 2014, with the framework of the programs supported by the National Institute of Biological Resources (NIBR), have resulted in a considerable increase in the number of water bodies studied in South Korea. In this report, seven new records for the Korean Peninsula are provided: (1) Macrothrix vietnamensis Silva-Briano, Dieu and Dumont, 1999; (2) Disparalona chappuisi (Brehm, 1931); (3) Pleuroxus(Picripleuroxus) quasidenticulatus (Smirnov, 1996); (4) Acroperus africanus Neretina and Kotov, 2015; (5) Alona ossiani herricki Sinev, 2013; (6) Coronatella trachystriata (Chen, Zhang and Liu, 1994); (7) Leydigia louisi Jenkin, 1934. Most of these taxa belong to the southern thermophilic complex. In addition several populations of Pleuroxus (Picripleuroxus) denticulatus Birge, 1879 and Pseudochydorus globosus (Baird, 1843) were re-studied, and their presence in Korea is confirmed. Through increased collection efforts and the application of molecular methods we are confident that more new records of Korean fauna will be published in the near future.

      • A new blind groundwater-dwelling genus of the Cladocera (Crustacea: Branchiopoda) from the Korean Peninsula

        JEONG, HYUN GI,SINEV, ARTEM Y.,BRANCELJ, ANTON,CHANG, KWANG-HYEON,KOTOV, ALEXEY A. Magnolia Press 2017 Zootaxa Vol.4341 No.4

Groundwater-dwelling Cladocera are to date known only from the caves and hyporheic zones of the rivers in Europe (Belgium, England, France, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovenia, Spain), Turkey (European part) and Arabian Peninsula (Yemen). All these animals belong to the subfamily Aloninae Dybowski & Grochowski of the family Chydoridae Dybowski & Grochowski (Cladocera: Anomopoda). Examination of some samples collected by our colleagues - experts in Copepoda, Bathynellidae and Amphipoda-in South Korea led us to discovery of a new stygobiotic alonine genus, which is also the first record of a groundwater-dwelling cladoceran in Asia. Aims of this paper are: (1) to describe Korealona gen. nov., represented by two species, Korealona karanovici gen. nov., sp. nov. found in three different localities, and K. choi sp. nov., also found in three different localities; and (2) to discuss its differences from other genera of this subfamily and possible phylogenetic position of this genus among the aloninse. Distribution ranges of two species of Korealona gen. nov. are not unequivocally associated with present-day main river basins in Korea, but more sampling efforts are needed for final conclusions on their distribution ranges in Korea and closest countries and understanding of the genus evolutionary history.
