        1T DRAM with Raised SiGe Quantum Well for Sensing Margin Improvement

        In this paper, a novel one-transistor dynamic random-access memory (1T DRAM) with a raised SiGe quantum well (QW) under one gate in the double-gate (DG) structure is proposed. The proposed structure can improve the poor performance of the retention time and sensing margin which is the problem of the conventional 1T DRAM. In write operation, the performance is improved through the band to band tunneling (BTBT) between body and drain and through valence band offset between SiGe and Si. Also by utilizing the physical barrier of oxide, read “1” retention time can be increased. The fabrication process is also proposed.

      • 액체막법에 의한 중금속이온의 분리 및 회수

        거대고리 리간드는 금속이온과 선택적으로 결합하는데, 이를 이용하여 에멀젼 액체막을 통한 금속이온의 이동에 관하여 연구를 수행하였다. 금속이온은 유기층에 있는 운반체에 의하여 source phase에서 receiving phase으로 이동한다. 운반체로는 거대고리 리간드인 DBN_(3)O_(3)를 사용하였다. 여기에서 에멀젼 액체막을 통한 금속이온의 이동에 관한 요인과 어떤 금속이온의 선택적 분리에 관하여 검토하였다. 금속이온과 거대고리 리간드 그리고 금속이온과 receiving phase내에 있는 음이온에 대한 안정도 상수를 금속이온의 선택적 이동에 대한 척도로 조사하였다. 납이온이 혼합 용액에서 다른 금속이온보다 높은 이동속도를 나타내었다. Receiving phase내의 음이온이 금속이온의 이동에 중요한 역할을 한다. Receiving phase내에 있는 NO_(3)^(-)을 S_(2)O_(3)^(2-) 대치하면 이동량이 증가함을 보였는데 이는 Pb^(2-)-S_(2)O_(3)^(2-) 상호작용이 Pb^(2+)-NO_(3)^(-) 상호작용보다 크기 때문이다. Macrocyclic ligand has been know to selectively bind with metal ions so that ability applied for the transport of metal ions across the emulsion liquid membrane in this study. The metal ions are transproted from the source phase to the receiving phase by the carrier of the organic phase. Several factors involved in the transport of metal ions acrose the emulsion membrane we reported here and these factors proveided the informations for the selective seperation of some metal ion. Stability constants for cation-macrocyclic ligand and metal ion-anion receiving phase interaction are examined as parameters for the prediction of metal ion transport selectivities Pb^(2+) was transported higher rates than the other metal ions in the mixture solution. The interaction of metal ion to anion in receiving phase is important. S_(2)O_(3)^(2-) in replacement of NO_(3)^(-) in the receiving phase enhances the transport of pb^(2-) since Pb^(2-)-S_(2)O_(3)^(2-) interaction is greater than Pb^(2+)-NO_(3)^(+) interaction.

        Hung Jen-Kan was a distant cousin of Heavenly King of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, Hung Hsiu-Ch'un. In the early days when Hung Hsiu-Ch'un advocated worshipping the God, Hung Jen-Kan was one of the persons who converted to the new worship of the God. In 1850, when Hung Hsiu-Ch'un had revolted against Ching dynasty to construct Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, Hung Jen-Kan could not participate in the revolution. Thereafter, he had tried several Times to participate in the revolution, but failed. In 1852, he had taken himself under the protection of Theodore Hamebrg and then he remained there for sometime. In 1854, Hung Jen-Kan left for Shanghai to find a way to get to Naking, but failed again. After he had stayed several months in Shanghai, he came back to Hongkong, this time as a London Missionary Society Staff member - first an instructor to teach the missionaries Chinese, and later, a catechist. He became the most broadly learned scholar in China about Western culture and Protestantism by the study and observation which he had got in the days of Shanghai and Hongkong. In 1859, he left for Nanking again and arrived finally in the Heavenly Capital (Nanking) to meet his cousin, Hung Hsiu-Ch'un, the Heavenly King. In the exhilaration of their reunion, the Heavenly King decided to bestow ultimate honor and so made Jen-Kan the Sheild King(Kan wang). Shortly after assuming the Sheild King, Jen-Kan submitted a lengthy memorial to the Heavenly King, which spelled out his programs for national construction based on his political ideals. This memorial was published under the title of Tzu-chen hsin-pien (A New Treatise on Political Counsel). His standpoint which showed in this memorial is what he called "rule by law" instead of "rule by revelation" which was practised by the leaders of early days the revolution, and it aimed at the capitalistic modernization based on the development of capitalistic economy of China. Hung Jen-Kan was a forerunner, who planned to modernize Chinese society, among the men of his own times. He practised some reforms of the religion of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom: calendar, literature, regulation of marriage, examination system of government office, leadership of military affairs, and renewal of Taiping Nationalist spirit. The political ideals and plans and actual reforms of Hung Jen-Kan aimed to revive the Taiping Revolutionary Movement, to give a new form, to reorganize the government, and to develop a new military strategy. Those systems were the best possible in the contemporary situation. Therefore according to some modern Chinese historians, it is quite possible that, had his program been carried out, China would have been modernized half a century earlier and emerged as a new world power even before Japan.

      • 배전계통 운용을 위한 양방향성 피더모델

        This paper presents two distribution-feeder models to simplify complicated distribution system calculations. These equivalent models are developed to simulate the total series voltage drop at the end of the given feeder and the total line loss of the given feeder accurately. In addition, the proposed models are bidirectional. This means that power infeed can be at either end and the model is accurate. This feature is important for a modern distribution system in which the power infeed of the switched feeder may change from one end to the other during service restoration or feeder reconfiguration. These bidirectional feeder models are illustrated by examples. The simulation results show that it is possible to reduce complex feeders to simple equivalent models in the study of feeder-voltage profiles and losses with negligible error, even if the power infeeds of the given feeders are changed.

        반복적인 경련을 동반한 아이소니아지드(Isoniazid) 중독환자의 치험 1례

        Isoniazid(Isonicotinic acid hydrazide) is an antimicrobial drug used since 1952 as a first line agent for the prophylaxis and treatment of tuberculosis. Isoniazid is well known for problems in population having a high prevalence of isoniazid use for prophylaxis or treatment of tuberculosis. But intentional or accidental isoniazid overdose is uncommon. The ingestion of toxic amounts of isoniazid causes recurrent seizures, profound metabolic acidosis, coma and even death. In adults, toxicity can occur with the acute ingestion of as little as 1.5g of isoniazid. Doses larger than 30mg per kg often produce seizures. When ingested in amounts of 80-150mg per kg or more, isoniazid can be rapid fatal. 40-year-old woman having previous pulmonary tuberculosis ingested 7gram of isoniazid(140mg/kg) to attempt suicide approximately 30 minutes prior to visit to our emergency medical center. She had recurrent generalized tonicclonic seizures and metabolic acidosis. We report one patient treated with pyridoxine, which was equivalent to the amount of isoniazid ingested and administered as a intravenous dose and oral dose

      • 초자체 출혈에 있어서 조직형 플라스미노젠 활성제의 효능

        Tissue plasminogen activator(tPA) is a fibrin-specific fibrinolytic agent that has recently been shown to be effective in accelerating the clearance of hyphema. Intravitreal injection of tPA can promote repid lysis of experimental intravitreal fibrin clots. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of intravitreal tPA injection for the treatment of vitreous hemorrhage in the phakic non-vitrectomized rabbit eyes. Vitreous hemorrhages were produced by intravitreal injections of 0.55ml of autologous whole blood in twenty-five rabbit eyes with intact vitreous. The injection of 25 or 100 microgram of tPA in fifteen eyes resulted in the clearance of vitreous hemorrhage in 99±19 or 34±6.5 days respectively. This was significantly faster than control eyes in which the clearance was not seen until 131±17 days later. No tractional retinal datachment was observed.

        As stated above, I considered the multifarious point of views with respect to the concepts of social welfare and then tried to integrate the vertical and horizental concept of social welfare. However, The concept of social welfare is multidimentional and unclear. Social welfare could be divided two defintions. One is broad defintion. The other narrow. I mean that the broad definition is to make a body politic improve the level of welbeing of all people by systematizing the goal concept-thoughts, ideas, philosoph, and values of social welfare-with the mean concept-policys, plans, programs, actions, services of social welfare. Also I mean thatt the narrow definition is to make a body politic promot the level of the specific people regardless of systematizing the broad concept and narrow one. To keep the conceptual confusion of social welfare first of all, I think that the students of social welfare must use the more concrete concept of social welfare than the abstract one of it by differing the broad concept from the narrow concept.

        Lagophthalmos can result in serious keratopathy because of corneal exposure and inadequate lacrimation. Four patients underwent gold plate insertion to rehabilitate paralysis of the eyelid caused by facial nerve palsy. Gold plate insertion resulted in exellent eyelid closure, protection, and cosmesis. There were no infections or extrusions. Lagophthalmos and exposure keratitis were resolved or were significantly improved in these patients. In selected patients this technique reestablishes a voluntary blink and provides corneal protection without the limitation of tarsorrhaphy. Gold plate insertion has become the procedure of choice for eyelid rehabilitation.

        In case of exchange of intraocular lenses(IOL) in pseudophakia, errors can happen in measuring axial length because of existing IOL. Therefore, we examined the accuracy of axial length measurement in pseudophakia by measuring axial lengths of pre- and post-operation. Eighty nine eyes of 77 patients were divided into four groups in the order of description (AMO SI3ONB, Staar AQ2003V, Pharmacia 720A, and HOYA UY-60SA) : Group 1 and 2 for silicone lenses, and 3 and 4 for PMMA lenses. We compared pre- and post-operative axial lengths with Ocuscan (Alcon, U.S.A.). The postoperative axial lengths were measured by phakic, aphakic, and pseudophakic mode. In pseudophakic mode, the velocity in IOL part was set at the rate of 980 and 1532 m/sec for Group 1 and 2, and 1532 and 2718 m/sec for Group 3 and 4. The preoperative average axial lengths of four groups were 23.34, 22.92, 22.88 and 23.73 mm, respectively. The postoperative average axial lengths of Group 1 and 2 were 23.20 and 23.07 mm at the rate of 980 m/sec in pseudophakic mode, and for Group 3 and 4, the lengths were 22.88 and 23.81 mm at the rate of 2718 m/sec in pseudophakic mode, and they were very close to the preoperative values. We can get the closest values to preoperative axial length by setting the velocity in pseudophakic mode at the rate of 980 m/sec for silicone lens and 2718 m/sec for PMMA lens.
