Sulfidated and bimetal modification can improve the reactivity and selectivity of zero-valent iron in contaminant removal. However, previous studies were focused on unilateral material approaches. In this article, a new hybrid composite Ag/S-ZVI was prepared by doping elemental silver on surface of sulfidated nanoscale zerovalent iron (S-nZVI). The results of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) indicated Ag was dispersed on the surface of S-nZVI. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images displayed Ag/S-ZVI was irregular clusters with rough surfaces, small agglomeration, and quasi-spherical in shape. The removal of TCE by Ag/S-ZVI was 90.4% within 20 min. The reaction rate constant Kobs of Ag/S-ZVI was 2.59 times or 1.85 times of nZVI or S-nZVI, respectively. Cycling experiments showed that Ag/S-ZVI had good recycling ability, and the removal rate of TCE reached 72.6% at the third cycle. The addition of Ag+ makes S-nZVI as an abundant and efficient source of reducing electrons. The Fe<SUP>0</SUP> core can break C-Cl bonds by releasing electrons and the surface layer of Ag favors the transfer efficiency of electrons. Such study provides an efficient and robust ternary system for the remediation of TCE in groundwater.

Purpose: Fibrinogen and platelets have been reported to play important roles in tumorigenesis and cancer progression. The aim of this research was to investigate the combination of functions of fibrinogen, platelets, and mean platelet volume (MPV) in predicting the survival of patients with gastric cancer (GC). Materials and Methods: A retrospective study was conducted with 1,946 patients with GC and 299 patients with benign gastric tumor to analyze their fibrinogen, platelet, and MPV levels, and other clinicopathological characteristics along with their prognoses. Several indicators were evaluated along with fibrinogen, platelets, and MPV and their prognostic abilities were assessed. Univariate and multivariate survival analyses were conducted to determine the independent risk factors for overall survival. Results: Increased levels of fibrinogen, platelets, and MPV were observed with the progress of the GC stages. Elevated fibrinogen, platelets, and the combined indicators, including fibrinogen*MPV (FM), platelet*fibrinogen*MPV (PFM), fibrinogen/MPV (FMR), platelet*fibrinogen (PF), platelet*fibrinogen/MPV (PFMR), platelet*MPV (PM), and platelet/ MPV (PMR), foreboded poor prognosis. Meanwhile fibrinogen and FMR can be considered as independent risk factors for overall survival in patients with non-metastatic GC. But these indicators can hardly predict survival of patients in stage IV. Conclusions: Elevated fibrinogen, platelets, and MPV levels were in accordance with advanced stages, and fibrinogen, platelet, and MPV, in combination, can be used to predict survival of patients with non-metastatic GC. FMR was an independent prognostic factor for overall survival of patients with GC.

Implementing improved effective knowledge reuse and modular design in the earlier stages of engineering design have been the development trend over several decades. However, knowledge capture in the field either remains heavily human involved or is difficult for forming structured knowledge that can be directly utilized by computers. Moreover, modularization is usually performed when system components are fully understood, which fails to influence the design process in an earlier stage. In this paper, we propose a knowledge representation method to capture the knowledge in the design documents intelligently and organize them in a structured manner. A modularization method using binary matrix factorization is also put forward to optimize the design process. Case studies of the design of electro–hydraulic dram brake and power supply are used to exemplify how modularization can be accomplished by matrix factorization and how knowledge structure is generated with computer support. Finally, several research problems are discussed.

In fashion marketing, celebrity endorsement is a widely-used strategy to gain attention and produce positive brand knowledge (Carroll, 2009). Luxury brands use their social media accounts to post pictures of celebrity endorsers using their products. This is an effective strategy because celebrity endorsement posts could encourage fans of the celebrity to repost, like or comment on this post. This is beneficial for the brand because this results in more brand exposures. The question is how luxury brands can use celebrity endorsements successfully in the digital age. For example, should luxury brands localize the celebrity endorsement in social media? The dilemma of standardization and localization becomes very significant when luxury brands are facing a culturally different market (Liu et al., 2016). This paper examines the effectiveness of localized celebrity endorsements for luxury brands in Chinese social media based on an analysis of online big data and two experiments. First, a multi-level analysis of the posts of 33 luxury brands suggests that localized (Chinese) celebrity endorsers trigger more social media interactions than standardized (Western) celebrity endorsers. Next, the following experimental studies reveal that local endorsers do not enhance perceived brand luxury and individuals’ level of patriotism moderates the effect of localized (vs. standardized) celebrity endorsements on perceived brand luxury. For people with lower level of patriotism, localized celebrity endorsements reduce the perceived brand luxury. In contrast, for people with higher level of patriotism, localized celebrity endorsements lead to higher perceived brand luxury.

For the case that K is nonnegative, V and a are indefinite, we prove the above problem possesses one ground state sign-changing solution with exactly two nodal domains by constraint variational method and quantitative deformation lemma. Moreover, we show that the energy of sign-changing solutions is larger than that of the ground state solutions. The novelty of this paper is that the potential a is indefinite and allowed to vanish at infinity. In this sense, we complement the existing results obtained by Batista and Furtado [5].
The Enforcement of ICSID arbitral awards, practice and problems

Recent cases of the enforcement of ICSID (International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes) awards against the sovereigns in the territory of other Contracting States to the ICSID Convention demonstrate that the execution of the award is a complicated procedure and is subject to the doctrine of state immunity. The operation of the sovereign immunity doctrine significantly reduces the chances of executing the awards. As a consequence, the investors may lose confidence in the ICSID system. The study of ICSID enforcement practice in different jurisdictions and comparative approach to other international arbitral awards` enforcement regimes indicated various problems that investors face while attempting the execution of the arbitral awards. Nevertheless, the ICSID regime of recognition and enforcement of the awards is more advanced and better equipped for its purposes. In combination with the restrictive approach to the state immunity doctrine adopted by most states in the world, the enforcement of the ICSID awards is still possible. Thus, investors should not hesitate in taking actions against non-complying states, proving that the ICSID serves its objectives.
중증 중년 남성 임금 근로 척수장애인의 직업적응과정에 관한 사례연구

연구목적: 척수근로장애인의 취업과 관련해서는 사회적으로 많은 관심을 보이고 있지만, 척수장애인의 직업적응과 관련해서는 이에 대해 이해하기 어렵다는 이유로 근속한 척수장애인에 대한 이해의 축적은 매우 제한적으로 이루어져 왔다. 이에 본 연구는 서울/경기 지역에 근무지를 둔 중도장애를 입은 중년기 남성 척수장애인의 장기 근속을 위한 노력과 근속 과정에서의 경험 그리고 어려움에 대처하는 자세에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 척수근로장애인 5명을 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였으며, 그 결과를 사례연구 방법을 토대로 ATLAS.ti 23을 활용하여 범주화하였다. 연구결과: 척수장애인으로 장기 근속경험은 다음과 같은 7가지 범주로 설명되었다. 범주는 구직을 포기하지 않고 다시 시도하게 되는 이유, 취업을 가능하게 했던 중요 요인, 직업유지와 발전을 가능하게 했던 요인, 구직과 직업유지 및 발전에의 제한점과 한계로 작용했던 요인, 직업유지와 발전을 위한 노력, 근속근로장애인 선례로서 역할 함, 직업 적응을 위한 제도적 지지의 필요성 강조로 구분되며 하위범주로는 26개의 범주가 도출되었다. 시사점: 본 연구를 통해 근로자 개인이 속한 사회환경적 요인과, 장애 정도에 따라 직업 적응 경험이 다양하다는 것을 확인하고, 취업에서 더 나아가 장애인 근로자 개인의 직업생활 안정화 방안을 위한 맞춤형 지원 방안을 마련하는데 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. Objectives: through this study, we examined that work adjustment tendencies vary depending on the severity of disabilities and the socio-environmental factors to which individual workers belong. We provided essential data for preparing customized support measures for work adjustment of wage workers with spinal cord disorders. Method: a case study was conducted with five people with spinal cord disabilities working in Seoul/Gyeonggi. Results: the long-term service experience as a person with a spinal cord disability was explained in the following seven categories. The categories are ‘reason for not giving up the job search and getting back up again’, ‘major factors that made it possible to maintain and develop a job’, and ‘limitations of the job search, job maintenance, and job development’. These categories are composed of 26 subcategories. Implications: this study examined that the experience of job adaptation varies according to the socio-environmental factors to which individual workers belong and the severity of their disabilities. Furthermore, we intend to provide essential data for preparing customized support measures for stabilizing the professional life of individual disabled workers.
