      • Involvement of MicroRNA-198 Overexpression in the Poor Prognosis of Esophageal Cancer

        Qi, Bo,Yao, Wen-Jian,Zhao, Bao-Sheng,Qin, Xiu-Guang,Wang, Yi,Wang, Wen-Ju,Wang, Tian-Yun,Liu, Shang-Guo,Li, Han-Chen Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.9

Objective: This study aimed to investigate whether the miR-198 expression level is related to clinicopathological factors and prognosis of esophageal cancer. Methods: MicroRNA was extracted from esophageal cancer patients who underwent surgery for assessment using the Taqman@ MicroRNA assay. The correlation between miR-198 expression and clinicopathological features was analyzed, and the significance of miR-198 as a prognostic factor and its relationship with survival was determined. Results: MicroRNA-198 (miR-198) expression was higher in patients with poor prognosis than those with good prognosis (P<0.05). Kaplan-Meier analysis results showed that the miR-198 expression level had a significant correlation with survival time (P=0.030) and that patients with a higher expression of miR-198 had a shorter survival time. Cox multi-factor model analysis showed that patient prognosis (P=0.014), tumor length (P=0.040) and expression (P=0.012), and survival time had a significant correlation; the corresponding risks were 7.268, 1.246, and 3.524, respectively. Conclusion: miR-198 overexpression is involved in the poor prognosis of esophageal cancer and can be used as a biomarker for selection of cases requiring especial attention.

      • Exploration on Obstacle Avoidance and Study of Balance

WANG Qi-ming,Liu Jian-fen,Shi He-sheng 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.3

This paper studies ε-greedy algorithm and softmax algorithm in obstacle avoidance and balance study. In the experiment, Sarsa algorithm and Q-Learning algorithm were used to appropriately simplify and build the model of obstacle avoidance; softmax algorithm was used to address how to balance exploration and utilisation; and two classical algorithms of reinforcement learning were adopted to deal with obstacle avoidance. The results generated by simulation prove that Sarsa algorithm and Q-Learning algorithm can handle obstacle avoidance and balance study in limited time step, which makes the intelligent agent improve the non-maximum estimated value of the value function of the state so as to choose the best action that has been carried out. In addition, Sarsa algorithm and Q-Learning algorithm can also enable the intelligent agent to try new actions and find out the optimal one.

Indirect Determination of Cetirizine Hydrochloride by ICP-AES

        Wang, Li-Sheng,Wei, Xiao-Ling,Gong, Qi,Jiang, Zhi-Liang,Li, Dong-Mei,Liang, Qing Korean Chemical Society 2011 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.32 No.2

Cetirizine hydrochloride reacted with $BiI_4^-$ in an acidic aqueous solution to form precipitate. After centrifugation, the atomic emission intensity of $Bi^{3+}$ contained in the supernatant solution was measured at the characteristic wavelength of 206.170 nm. The difference between the spectral signal intensity of the blank solution and that of the supernatant, ${\Delta}I$, was linearly related to the concentration of cetirizine hydrochloride. As a result, a new inductively coupled plasmaatomic emission spectrometric (ICP-AES) method was developed for the analysis of cetirizine hydrochloride. The linear range was from 27.7 to 184.8 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.9961 and a detection limit of 9.6 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$. This method is simple and accurate, Without using toxic organic solvents, and is feasible for the quality control of cetirizine hydrochloride tablets and capsules.

      • Association of the XRCC1 c.1178G>A Genetic Polymorphism with Lung Cancer Risk in Chinese

Wang, Lei,Lin, Yong,Qi, Cong-Cong,Sheng, Bao-Wei,Fu, Tian Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.9

The X-ray repair cross-complementing group 1 protein (XRCC1) plays important roles in the DNA base excision repair pathway which may influence the development of lung cancer. This study aimed to evaluate the potential association of the XRCC1 c.1178G>A genetic polymorphism with lung cancer risk. The created restriction site-polymerase chain reaction (CRS-PCR) and DNA sequencing methods were utilized to evaluate the XRCC1 c.1178G>A genetic polymorphism among 376 lung cancer patients and 379 controls. Associations between the genetic polymorphism and lung cancer risk were determined with an unconditional logistic regression model. Our data suggested that the distribution of allele and genotype in lung cancer patients was significantly different from that of controls. The XRCC1 c.1178G>A genetic polymorphism was associated with an increased risk of lung cancer (AA vs GG: OR=2.91, 95%CI 1.70-4.98, p<0.001; A vs G: OR=1.52, 95%CI 1.22-1.90, p<0.001). The allele A and genotype AA may contribute to risk of lung cancer. These preliminary results suggested that the XRCC1 c.1178G>A genetic polymorphism is statistically associated with lung cancer risk in the Chinese population.

Correlation between population size of pear Psylla (Cacopsylla chinensis) and leaf structure features in different pear cultivars

        Sheng-jie Xu,Lun Wu,Qi Zhi Liu,Jun Liu,He Wang,Jie-wen Wang,Ting Zhang 한국응용곤충학회 2019 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.22 No.2

The feeding preference of pear psylla (Cacopsylla chinensis) varies among pear cultivars. To clarify whether leaf structural factors are related to C. chinensis resistance, eleven pear cultivars of three pear species and their hybrids in China were studied. The population size of C. chinensis in plots of different cultivars was investigated, and leaf paraffin sections of each pear cultivar were observed. Correlation analysis results showed that the thickness of palisade tissue (PT) and the thickness ratio (TR) of PT to leaf (L) were the main factors influencing resistance to C. chinensis. The leaves of cultivar Wujiuxiang and those species from France and the USA exhibited the thickest PT and the highest TR; these three cultivars demonstrated much higher resistance to C. chinensis than did the other cultivars. The cultivar Gold Nijisseiki, with a large C. chinensis population size, showed low PT and TR. The findings of this study may provide valuable information to pear growers, experts and scientists regarding plant protection, cultivation and breeding when selecting suitable varieties to culture from the perspective of pest control.

Radionuclide identification method for NaI low-count gamma-ray spectra using artificial neural network

        Sheng Qi,Shanqiang Wang,Ye Chen,Kun Zhang,Xianyun Ai,Jinglun Li,Haijun Fan,Hui Zhao 한국원자력학회 2022 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.54 No.1

An artificial neural network (ANN) that identifies radionuclides from low-count gamma spectra of a NaIscintillator is proposed. The ANN was trained and tested using simulated spectra. 14 target nuclides wereconsidered corresponding to the requisite radionuclide library of a radionuclide identification devicementioned in IEC 62327-2017. The network shows an average identification accuracy of 98.63% on thevalidation dataset, with the gross counts in each spectrum Nc ¼ 100~10000 and the signal to noise ratioSNR ¼ 0.05e1. Most of the false predictions come from nuclides with low branching ratio and/or similardecay energies. If the Nc>1000 and SNR>0.3, which is defined as the minimum identifiable condition, theaveraged identification accuracy is 99.87%. Even when the source and the detector are covered with leadbricks and the response function of the detector thus varies, the ANN which was trained using nonshieldingspectra still shows high accuracy as long as the minimum identifiable condition is satisfied. Among all the considered nuclides, only the identification accuracy of 235U is seriously affected by theshielding. Identification of other nuclides shows high accuracy even the shielding condition is changed, which indicates that the ANN has good generalization performance.

Numerical Study of the Effect of Grout Material Properties on Ground Deformation during Shallow TBM Tunneling

        Qi Zhang,Xiao-Ping Zhang,Hao-Jie Wang,Quan-Sheng Liu,Dan Xu,Shao-Hui Tang 대한토목학회 2022 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.26 No.8

The full-face shield tunnel boring machine (TBM) has been widely used to build tunnels in urban area. Ground deformations usually occur during tunnelling processes, which is closely related to engineering geological property. A large ground deformation may lead to large-scale surface settlement or ground collapse, especially for shallow buried tunnels. In general, synchronous grouting is adopted to reduce the ground deformation. The temporal and spatial distribution of the grout pressure and consolidation processes of grouting have a significant influence on the deformation. For a better understanding the relationship between the grout material type and the ground deformation, the present study models a complex numerical model in FLAC3D based on the Guangzhou Metro line 18. A numerical method is proposed to reproduce the tunnelling process and the consolidation process of grout material. The effect of grouting material on ground deformation is discussed, i.e., immediately solidified type, quick hardening type, and good mobility type. The ground deformation of the numerical simulation are compared to those monitored in the field. The results indicate that the immediately solidified type grout can reduce the ground settlement effectively and is mainly applicable to secondary grouting. The quick hardening type can make the ground upheaval, which is smaller than that induced by immediately solidified type. The good mobility type can reduce the ground settlement and well control the ground deformation. The good mobility type recommends using in the numerical study for simulating the synchronous grouting.

      • Down-regulated MYH11 Expression Correlates with Poor Prognosis in Stage II and III Colorectal Cancer

        Wang, Ren-Jie,Wu, Peng,Cai, Guo-Xiang,Wang, Zhi-Min,Xu, Ye,Peng, Jun-Jie,Sheng, Wei-Qi,Lu, Hong-Fen,Cai, San-Jun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.17

The MYH11 gene may be related to cell migration and adhesion, intracellular transport, and signal transduction. However, its relationship with prognosis is still uncertain. The aim of this study was to investigate correlations between MYH11 gene expression and prognosis in 58 patients with stage II and III colorectal cancer. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was performed in fresh CRC tissues to examine mRNA expression, and immunohistochemistry was performed with paraffin-embedded specimens for protein expression. On univariate analysis, MYH11 expression at both mRNA and protein levels, perineural invasion and lymphovascular invasion were related to disease-free survival (p<0.05; log-rank test). Cancers with lower MYH11 expression were more likely to have a poor prognosis. Otherwise, MYH11 expression was unrelated to patient clinicopathological features. On multivariate analysis, low MYH11 expression proved to be an independent adverse prognosticator (p<0.05). These findings show that MYH11 can contribute to predicting prognosis in stage II and III colorectal cancers.

Modeling techniques for active shape and vibration control of macro-fiber composite laminated structures

        Shun-Qi Zhang,Min Chen,Guo-Zhong Zhao,Zhan-Xi Wang,Rüdiger Schmidt,Xian-Sheng Qin 국제구조공학회 2017 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.19 No.6

The complexity of macro-fiber composite (MFC) materials increasing the difficulty in simulation and analysis of MFC integrated structures. To give an accurate prediction of MFC bonded smart structures for the simulation of shape and vibration control, the paper develops a linear electro-mechanically coupled static and dynamic finite element (FE) models based on the first-order shear deformation (FOSD) hypothesis. Two different types of MFCs are modeled and analyzed, namely MFC-d31 and MFC-d33, in which the former one is dominated by the d31 effect, while the latter one by the d33 effect. The present model is first applied to an MFC-d33 bonded composite plate, and then is used to analyze both active shape and vibration control for MFC-d31/-d33 bonded plate with various piezoelectric fiber orientations.
