The bench-scale chlorine exposure study was performed to investigate the effect of pretreatment by free chlorine and monochloramine (NH2Cl) on the performance of RO membranes made of polyamide (PA). Feed monochloramination at 2㎎/L did not cause significant productivity loss compared to free chlorine. However, metal coagulants reacted with monochloramine, the PA membrane suffered from a gradual loss of membrane integrity by chlorine oxidation, which was characterized as a decrease in salt rejection. Especially, RO membranes exposed to alum coagulants with monochloramine revealed the salt rejection lower than those exposed to iron coagulants. XPS membrane surface analysis demonstrated that the chlorine uptake on the membrane surface increased and carbon peaks were shifted significantly when exposed to alum coagulants with monochloramine.

This paper described a collaborative exercise intended to see what kinds of short tandem repeat (STR) loci are used in different DNA typing laboratories in Korea and to compare their results for the demonstration whether uniformity of DNA profiling results from different laboratory could be achieved in Korea Laboratories were asked to test five tissue DNAs using methods routinely used in each laboratory and to report the results to the coordinating laboratory. The exercise demonstrated that each laboratory was using different STR loci for the typing with different STR numbers,2 VNTRS,36 STRs and amelogenin in total, and the direct comparison of the results from all the laboratory for the 18 loci could not be done as only one laboratory submitted typing results. Among 21 loci for which several laboratories submitted typing results, results for 14 loci were the same and results for the other 7 loci were different depending on the participating laboratory. D1S80, F13A01, D16S539, D21S11, D18S51, D3S1744 were the loci with different typing results. Even in the cases where commercial kits were used, the results were not the same depending on the machines used, that is the capillary electrophoresis or the gel based electrophoresis. The reason for the different results, points about the standardization of the methods arid the profiling data were described.

The phenomena of the vibrations are related to the parameters of the structure and the rotational velocity of the machine. Therefore, The design of a stable system can be achieved by selecting vibration parameters properly. In order to do that, the frequency analysis test is supposed to be done to obtain the transfer function of the structure, and further it is analyzed to get the vibration parameters. Finally the effect of those parameters are investigated. After all these procedures. the appropriate parameter values are decided to give the system the best possible stability to the system. In this study a machine tool structure is reviewed to investigate the transmission path of the vibrations to provide a design methodology to minimize the vibrations of the structure.

The vibration of electron guns are very critical to the display resolution of the Braun tubes. In this study, the dynamic properties of the electron guns are investigated along with the other parts of the Braun tube to analyze the natural frequencies, modes, and the transmission paths of the vibrations, the result of which is applied to improve the design of electron guns for suppressing the vibrations.
MeV이온주입을 사용하여 Buried Layer를 포함한 CMOS Retrograde Well 제조시 발생하는 격자 결함에 관한 연구

MeV ion implantation has been recently employed in the field of CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) retrograde well engineering. An issue on MeV ion induced damage is critical especially in forming a buried layer below the well. MeV B implanted buried layers were observed to show greatly improved characteristics of latchup suppression. Junction leakage current, however, showed a critical behavior as a function of ion does. The rod like defects were observed to be responsible for the leakage current. Rod-like defects were generated near the ??(projected range) and grown upward to the surface during annealing. According to cross sectional examination of each pit density, they were generated and propagated between 700。C and 800。C. They shrink or change into long, elongated dislocation loops at higher temperatures above 900。C. Results of SIMS (secondary ion mass spectroscopy) analyses and two-step-annealing (700。C/3∼6hrs.→900。C/1hr.) indicate that interstitial oxygens impede shrinkage of existing-g rod-like defects at higher temperatures above 900。C.

As electionic application system such as data processing communication system and control measurement system get larger, high accuracy, high efficiency, small size and light weight for DC power supply are required. This paper processes a type of circuit that can be controlled by PWM and PFM-TRC method using Thyristor as switching element. And some data essential to system design are obtained by evaluating characteristic of the proposed circuit in terms of chopper frequency, energy storage period and load resistor using normalized parameter. The characteristic analysis of the proposed circuit is illustrated by experiment.

판면체 구조의 전이 금속 착물들에 대한 쌍극자 모멘트를 계산하는 데 수정된 EHT(확장된 H??ckel이론) 방법을 이용하였다. [PtCl₂Me₂(PMe₂Ph)] 형태의 디메틸 백금(IV) 착물에는 6가지 [(I)-(IV)]의 가능한 입체 이성질체들이 있다. 이성질체(II)에 대하여 계산한 쌍극자 모멘트의 값(5.44D)은 이성질체(II)에 대하여 계산한 쌍극자 모멘트 값(6.46D)보다 낮은 값을 얻었다. 이성질체(II)에 대해 게산한 쌍극자 모멘트 값은 이성질체(II)에 대한 것보다 실험값(5.3D)에 더 접근하였다. 이와같이, 계산한 쌍극자 모멘트 값을 이용하여 그 착물의 입체화학적 구조를 예상할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Mode 합성법을 이용한 머시닝 센터의 모델링에 관한연구

This paper describes a new approach to the analysis of the dynamic response of a machining center. This approach, refered to as the mode synthesis or component mode sysnthesis, has many advantages compared with the conventional approaches. These terms are employed to sysnthesize the individual modes to analyze the vibration mode of the complicated structures. In this study a machining center is considered to present the basic ideas of the method, and its utility is investigated. The proposed idea is proved to be a very accurate estimate of the natural frequencies of the combined structures as well as the modes of vibrations.

Purpose: This study was to evaluate the importance of liver cancer patient's diet and to provide guideline materials for proper nursing intervention. Method: The hermeneutic phenomenological method of van Manen was applied for the in-depth interview of liver cancer patients and the cultural background studies including linguistic, literary and art works to enhance the insight and understanding, from which the meaning of the cognition and lesson of the experiences were extracted. The participants for this study were five male patients, who had been diagnosed with liver cancer, 5-15 years ago and had been treated with Transcatheter Arterial Embolization without chemotherapy. The repeated interview and close observation were carried out for nine months starting from January 2001 in Seoul, Korea. Result: Eight essential themes were emerged ; (1) confliction(frustration) with hospital treatment (2) trial of every possible remedies (3) liking unpolluted natural foods (4) faithful tolerance (5) experiencing diet effectiveness (6) discovering personal control methods (7) deepen their faith in God (8) searching for healthy new life. Conclusion: The alternative diet therapy influenced their life beyond the physical overcoming of cancer toward psychological and spiritual healing. The study evidenced the necessity for scientific research and education on the effectiveness and application of complementary and alternative diet therapy for the treatment of cancer in hospital practices.
四角形 〔Pt(Ⅱ) Cl(PMe₃)₂Me 〕形態錯物의 計算한 雙極子 모우멘트에 對한 리간드의 cis와 trans 效果에 關한 硏究

EHT계산의 고유함수를 이용하여 전이금속 착물의 쌍극자 모멘트에 대한 리간드의 cis 및 trans구조의 영향을 고찰하였다. 계산한 cis착물의 쌍극자 모멘트가 trans 착물의 쌍극자 모멘트보다 큰 값을 가지며 trans착물에 대해 계산한 쌍극자 모멘트가 cis착물의 계산한 쌍극자 모멘트보다 실험값에 접근하였다. 이 결과는 〔Pt(Ⅱ) Cl(PMe₃)₂Me 〕 형태착물이 trans구조로 존재함을 예측할 수 있으며, 또한 계산한 쌍극자 모멘트는 사각형 형태의 전이금속착물에 대한 리간드의 trans효과를 예측할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
