The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of a 2-week ingestion of grape seed extract(300 mg/day) on cardiovascular response and vascular endothelial cell function at rest and during handgrip exercise in prehypertensive individuals. Nine prehypertensive men, aged 24.6±3.1 yrs, repeatedly participated in both grape seed extract trial and placebo trial in a randomized, double-blind, crossover manner. While the subjects ingested grape seed extract or placebo in a 2-week trial, their cardiovascular response, blood vessel diameter, blood flow volume, and vascular endothelial cell function at rest and during handgrip exercise were measured. Each variable was compared between two trials as well as between two tests simultaneously using a repeated two-way ANOVA. Main result of the present study were as follows: 1) Systolic blood pressure decreased significantly at rest after the 2-week ingestion of grape seed extract. 2) Systolic blood pressure and mean blood pressure decreased significantly during handgrip exercise after the 2-week ingestion of grape seed extract. 3) Flow-mediated dilation volume and % flow-mediated dilation increased significantly after the 2-week ingestion of grape seed extract. It was concluded that 2 weeks of ingestion of grape seed extract would have an positive effect on cardiovascular response and vascular endothelial cell function at rest and during handgrip exercise in prehypertensive men. Future research investigating the effects of various period and amount of ingestion of grape seed extract during aerobic exercise including large muscle group would be warranted.

민중주의민속학과 우리민속학의 전망

이 논문에서 필자는 민속학의 두 경향인 민중주의민속학과 문화민족주의민속학의 두 주제어를 내세워 우리민속학이 민중주의민속학의 방향으로 나아가야 한다는 점을 제안하였다. 그리고 우리민속학과 우리나라민속학이라는 용어를 사용하였는데, 우리민속학은 민중주의민속학을 표현하는 용어로, 우리나라민속학은 한반도 역사 속에 존재한 나라들을 통괄하여 통용되는 국가단위의 민속학 용어로 사용하였다. 필자는 이 논문에서 우리나라민속학이 일본민속학을 도입해 형성된 일제강점기민속학으로부터 시작되었다는 한국민속학의 일반적 주장을 부인하고 조선후기 실학으로부터 시작되었으며, 다산 정약용에 의해 민중주의민속학이 학문으로 출발했음을 주장했다. 그리고 문화민족주의민속학에서 규정한 민속문화의 개념이 민중생활사의 실상과 맞지 않음을 지적하고 민중생활사의 실상과 일치하는 민속문화의 개념으로 민중의 인간다운 삶을 지향하는 정신적 가치와 방식이며 민중생활사에서 실천된 문화로 재정리하였다. 민중의 개념도 권력의 밖에 위치하며 민중의 인간다운 삶이 실현되는 세계상을 향해 나아가는 다양한 사회집단으로 정리했다. 그리고 민중은 오늘날이나 옛날이나 시대를 초월하여 사회집단으로 존재했으며, 집단 내에서 서로 소통하는 관계망을 형성했고, 우리나라의 민주주의를 발전시켜 온 주체로 보았다. 그리고 우리민속학이 민중주의에 근거한 민중공동체생활문화연구라는 점에 주목하며 공동체연구의 중요성을 강조했다. 시공간을 초월하여 공동체들이 우리민속을 견인해왔음을 주장하고 현대인들의 생활현장에 존재하는 다양한 민속공동체들의 연구를 제안하였다. 그리고 그 사례로 필자가 연구하고 있는 도시속의 1인자영업자 기술민속공동체인 춘배공동체에 대해 소개하였다. 필자는 민중주의민속학의 전망을 통해 한국민속학이 민중의 일상적 삶과 대화하며 그 가치를 발견하고, 민중공동체의 삶에 서로 관심을 갖는 정이 넘치는 사회를 만들어 가는 학문이 되어야 함을 주장하고, 민중주의민속학이 한국 문화민족주의민속학이 비워둔 나머지 부분을 채우는 길이 된다는 점을 강조하였다. In this article, The writer propose that our folklore have to develop into Minjungism showing two main subject, Minjungism and Cultural nationalism folklore. He uses two terms, ‘folklore of us’ and ‘folklore of our nation’. Folklore of us is the same term with Minjungism, and Folklore of our nation is a folklore term of national unit being used that includes all nations in history of the Korean peninsula. In this article, he doesn’t agree with some usual opinions that the folklore of Korea began when we were in Japanese colonial era with importing that of Japan but he agrees the folklore of Korea started from practical study of late Cho-sun dynasty. And also he insists that Dasan Yak-yong Jung, a scholar in the Cho-sun dynasty, makes Minjungism an academic study. He points that the idea of folk culture defined by Cultural nationalism folklore is not related to fact of the people’s real life. And as the idea of folk culture being related to fact of that, he redefine it as the psychological value and method aiming the people’s humane life. The concept of the people is defined as various social groups which want to realize the people’s humane life locating outside of the power. They exist for all-time social groups, make communicative connections among them, and developdemocracy of our country as the subject The writer emphasize the importance of the research of communities noticing the folklore of us is based on the life-cultural research ofthe people’s community. He insist they lead our folk culture beyond space and time. He also propose the research of various folk communities existing on modern man’s real life. And as an example, The writer introduce Chunbae community which is a technical community that the member is a solo independent business man in a city Through the vision of Minjungism, The writer insist Korean folklore has to find the value of the people by communicating with their real life and the study has to make the society warmer having an interest in each other. And he emphasize Minjungism can compensate the rest which the Korean cultural nationalism folklore leaves.

초음파 기관지 내시경으로 진단한 기관기관지 골연골형성증 1예

Tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica (TO) is a rare benign disease of unknown etiology characterized by accumulation of calcium phosphate in the submucosa of large airways and benign proliferation of bone and cartilage resulting in nodular formation. We report a case of tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica diagnosed by Endobronchial ultrasonography in a 56-year-old man. Chest Computed Tomography revealed thickening of tracheal and bronchial wall, and multiple nodules through whole trachea. Endobronchial ultrasonography showed numerous submucosal nodules with hetero-echogenecity in the third and fourth layers. Histopathological examination revealed nonspecific bronchitis with squamous metaplasia and metaplastic ossification. We confirmed tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica. The patient's symptoms were successfully treated with antibiotics and oxygen supplyment. endobronchial ultrasonography can helpful diagnosis in tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica.

중국 길림성 조선족의 민족 정체감에 관한 연구

The present study examined the structure and patterns of ethnic identity in a sample of Korean-Chinese parents and their adolescents residing in the Jilin Province in China. The ethnic identity of these participants(total :148 parents:100 adolesents:48) includes two major components : Korean identity and Chinese identity. Each of these components was measured in three different modalities : behavioral, affective and cognitive. The results are summarized as follow ; 1) Generational comparisons between Korean identity scores of parents and adolescents indicated similarities in the modalities of cognitive and behavioral identities. Both groups shared a Korean orientation manifested in their high level of Korean behavior and cognition. However, both groups also shared a relatively high level of Chinese identity. In summary, dual identity appeared to be preserved over time. The parents scored higher than the adolescents in their affective modality of Korean identity. Chinese identity was scored higher in the adolescents than korean identity in their affective modality. The generational comparisons indicated that the adolescents were acculturated in their affect than their parents. 2) Comparison of men and women in the strength of identity' component showed higher cognitive scores among the men. in Korean identity, compared with Chinese identity. Men were more identified with "Chinese" and "Korean" in the affective component of their identity.

중학교 남자 테니스 선수의 운동기능수준별 시합 전 경쟁상태불안

The purpose of this study was to investigate if there is any difference in the level of competitive state anxiety according to the level of motor skill before the game and to provide the players with basic data for the mental practice. The subjects of this study consist of 20 men's a middle school tennis players. The experimental group was divided into superior players group and inferior players group. And then by using a CSAI-2 questionnaire, three subfactors of competitive state anxiety, or cognitive state anxiety, somatic state anxiety and state self-confidence were measured. The method of measurement was carried out three times, or one week, one day and two hours before the game. The results of this study were as follows. First, About both cognitive state anxiety and somatic state anxiety, inferior players were significantly higher than superior players. Second, About state self-confidence, superior players were significantly higher than inferior players. Third, As the game was around, both cognitive state anxiety and somatic state anxiety which all the players including superior and inferior players had increased. But the state self-confidence of all players decreased.

동일한 시료에 대한 국내 기관간의 STR 분석결과 비교 : STR 유전자좌 분석법의 표준화 설정을 위하여

This paper described a collaborative exercise intended to see what kinds of short tandem repeat (STR) loci are used in different DNA typing laboratories in Korea and to compare their results for the demonstration whether uniformity of DNA profiling results from different laboratory could be achieved in Korea Laboratories were asked to test five tissue DNAs using methods routinely used in each laboratory and to report the results to the coordinating laboratory. The exercise demonstrated that each laboratory was using different STR loci for the typing with different STR numbers,2 VNTRS,36 STRs and amelogenin in total, and the direct comparison of the results from all the laboratory for the 18 loci could not be done as only one laboratory submitted typing results. Among 21 loci for which several laboratories submitted typing results, results for 14 loci were the same and results for the other 7 loci were different depending on the participating laboratory. D1S80, F13A01, D16S539, D21S11, D18S51, D3S1744 were the loci with different typing results. Even in the cases where commercial kits were used, the results were not the same depending on the machines used, that is the capillary electrophoresis or the gel based electrophoresis. The reason for the different results, points about the standardization of the methods arid the profiling data were described.

Case Report : Hepatoid Carcinoma of the Pancreas Combined with Neuroendocrine Carcinoma

Hepatoid carcinoma is a primary extrahepatic carcinoma whose morphology, immunohistochemistry, and behavior are similar to those of hepatocellular carcinoma. The most common sites of extrahepatic carcinoma are the stomach and ovary, but nine cases of hepatocellular differentiation of the pancreas have been reported in the literature. We report another case of hepatoid carcinoma of the pancreas that was associated with the development of a pancreatic endocrine carcinoma in a 46-year-old man. Serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) was elevated to 262.49 IU/mL and radiological examinations revealed a mass measuring 7.5 cm in diameter in the head of the pancreas. He underwent a conventional Whipple operation, and light microscopy showed adenocarcinoma that was immunopositive for AFP, hepatocyte antigen, cytokeratin, chromogranin, synaptophysin, and alpha-1 antichymotrypsin. Although hepatoid differentiation was not shown unequivocally histologically, other immunohistochemistry findings supported the diagnosis of hepatoid carcinoma combined with neuroendocrine carcinoma. The patient was healthy and had no evidence of recurrence at 4 months after the surgery. This report describes why hepatoid carcinoma should be considered as a differential diagnosis of a pancreatic mass, especially when serum AFP is elevated. (Gut Liver 2010;4:98-102)

This paper analyzed and designed a new system which can maximize the effect of synergy by making schools use information system in every area. It was possible by developing and applying a technique which supported organizational management and knowledge management. This new system is greatly beneficial because educational information system, NEIS, which most current school systems are using, could not support organizational management and knowledge management. Thus, this system reflected these current needs appropriately, in addition can make possible innovational teaching-learning activities and business integration or control. Also it can accomplish a complimentary function to e-learning system in case schools already introduced it because when the new system can make easily additional synergy effect to e-learning system. As a result, by applying the system of knowledge management and business integration, it is expected that knowledge-resource can be richly increased in a class-room, hence educational environment can be changed in the direction of innovational and desirable change, because richly increased knowledge resource can satisfy easily the needs on the part of parents, students, and teachers, accordingly school can be valued highly.

비누화 PC88A에 의한 NdCl₃와 SmCl₃용매추출의 화학모델

A chemical model was developed to estimate equilibrium constant for the solvent extraction of Nd and Sm from chloride solution with saponified PC88A. The model could be employed to predict the distribution coefficient of metal from the initial extraction conditions. The model consisted of chemical equilibria, mass balance, charge balance and solvent extraction reaction. By applying the model to the experimental conditions and data, equilibrium constants for the solvent extraction of Nd and Sm were obtained. The effect of the saponification of PC88A on the extraction of Nd was explained in terms of the equilibrium constant obtained in this study and the change of equilibrium pH. The predicted distribution coefficients of Nd and Sm agreed well with those measured. (Received July 14, 2004)
