Adiponectin Attenuates the Inflammation in Atopic Dermatitis-Like Reconstructed Human Epidermis

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic disorder, with a vicious cycle of repetitive inflammation and deterioration of the epidermal barrier function. Adiponectin, an adipokine, has anti-inflammatory effects on various metabolic and inflammatory disorders. Recently, its level was found to be reduced in serum and tissue samples from AD patients. Objective: We aimed to investigate the effects of adiponectin on epidermal inflammation and barrier structures in AD skin. Methods: A three-dimensional in vitro epidermal equivalent model mimicking AD was obtained by adding an inflammatory substance cocktail to normal human epidermal equivalents (HEEs). The expression of epidermal differentiation markers, primary inflammatory mediators, and lipid biosynthetic enzymes was compared between adiponectintreated AD-HEEs, untreated control AD-HEEs, and normal HEEs. Results: Adiponectin co-treatment 1) inhibited the increase in mRNA expression of major inflammatory mediators (carbonic anhydrase II, neuron-specific NEL-like protein 2, thymic stromal lymphopoietin, interleukin-8, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and human beta-defensin-2) from keratinocytes in AD-inflammatory HEEs, 2) enhanced the expression of lipid biosynthetic enzymes (fatty acid synthase, HMG CoA reductase, and serine-palmitoyl transferase), and 3) promoted the expression of differentiation factors, especially filaggrin. We also found that the expression of adiponectin receptor-1 and -2 decreased in the epidermis of chronic AD lesion. Conclusion: Activation of the adiponectin pathway is expected to enhance epidermal differentiation and barrier function as well as attenuate inflammatory response to AD as a therapeutic approach. The aim of this paper is to define the poet Goh Jung Hee`s Yeoseonghaebang chulsapyo (Memorial Concerning women`s liberation, 1990) as a text in polyphonic discourse manifesting a carnivalesque imagination, analyzing the carnivalesque, creative elements. In her Yeoseonghaebang Chulsapyo, Goh Jung Hee dreams of a space for women alone, a Utopia free of gender discrimination, and this text displays a carnivalesque quality through polyphony, eversion of existing ideologies, relative merriment, etc. According to Mikhail Bakhtin, the world of carnival is a world ruled by freedom and equality, a space overturning the hierachy of dichotomous oppositions such as male / female, sacred / secular, authority / people, reason / madness, noble / base, etc that postmodernism has brought to light, where everything is equal and pleasant, and absolute things become relative. So far as space, time, textual style, rhetorical form are concerned, Yeoseonghaebang Chulsapyo thus conceived strongly reveals carnivalesque aspects. In the first place, the poet summons four women who radically challenged the sexual repression the women of the middle Joseon Era must have experienced - Hwang Jini, Yi Ok-bong, Shin Saimdang, Heo Nanseolheon, into the space of the 1980s, when people`s liberation and feminism emerged as the spirit of the times, and develops a portrayal of a dreamed-off women`s liberation. In Part One, Hwang Jini and Yi Ok-Bong exchange correspondance; in Part Two, we find Shin Saimdang writing letters to Heo Nanseolheon, and Nanseolheon writing letters to the daughters of modern Korea. In a space where the boundaries between this world and that grow hazy, those between life and death are blurred, each individual woman deconstructs her symbolic value or her private myth using the terms of modern feminism while criticizing patriarchy. Romantic facts are reinterpreted, and their identities, venerated in Confucian society, are downgraded to mean quite the opposite. Second, time`s carnivalesque qualities emerge. The feudal period and the modern age are mixed, the age of Confucianism and the age of feminism are mixed. At the same time, there is a blending of discourses, of heterogeneous contexts, so that a carnivalesque mixture results. For example, the mythical symbol of good mother, chaste wife, Shin Saimdang belittles the patriarchal system as a culture of proxenetism. A carnivalesque blend of discourses arises, mocking other discourses, a cheerful relativity subverts absolute values by satire and humor. Third, the style`s variety and hybridity manifest a carnivalesque character. Yeoseonghaebang Chulsapyo, which includes elements of epistolary style, sijo, other classical forms, parody, shamanistic ceremony, protest demonstration, being both a work of vulgarization and a popular spectacle, is less a unified lyrical poem than a hybrid text combining multiple voices. The work`s carnivalesque polyphony or dialogic qualities are produced by collisions and blendings of differing speaking voices, their contexts and codes, and this paper attempts to analyze those aspects. Within the carnivalesque space and time of the first two parts of Yeoseonghaebang Chulsapyo, the four women employ heroic tones to criticize the Confucian society, the patriarchy and the oppression of women in the Joseon era, using the terms of modern feminism, and go on to urge modern women to ensure that their dream of women`s liberation becomes a reality. At the end of Part 2, the person leading the way declaring the war for women`s liberation is Heo Nanseolheon, who lived the most tragic life of them all and suffered most under the patriarchal system. In Parts 3 and 4, the female poetic voice, receiving the spirit of women`s liberation from Heo Nanseolheon and advancing toward reality, attempts to analyze realistically all that prevents the liberation of women today. Part 4 is a memorializing poem, a poem with a purpose, and mostly declaims loudly all that has to be done to liberate women, so that in parts 3 and 4 the carnivalesque elements of polyphony and dialogue are weaker, while the poetic narrator`s voice grows stronger in conviction in a solitary monologue. It may be wondered if the way the carnivalesque space produced by the Joseon-era women of parts 1 and 2 is abolished might not be the result of a realization by the solitary poetic voice advancing bearing the Memorial that here and now, in real space, the realization of women`s liberation is a difficult project. This work by Goh Jung Hee, expressing the dream of women`s liberation in a carnivalesque polyphony, should be seen as one of the outstanding feminist texts of Korea.

This paper has the purpose that is to detect the basic corporate culture of Dosanism. It is derived from the establishing spirit of the founder, Seung-Jik Park of Doosan Group, and the innovative entrepreneurship of his son, Doo-Byung Park. Doosan Group was founded by Seung-Jik Park in 1896, and has been brought up one of top business conglomerates and oldest outstanding enterprises in Korea. Ribosomal DNA의 ITS영역 염기서열 분석에 의한 기주특이적 독소 생성 Alternaria spp.의 계통분류학적 유연관계

기주특이적 독소 생성 Alternaria spp.와 비병원성 A. alternata의 계통분류학적 유연관계를 규명하기 위하여 기주특이적 독소 생성 Alternaria 6균, 비병원성인 A. alternata 그리고 비교균으로서 소형포자를 형성하는 A. brassicicola, 대형포자를 형성하는 A. solani의 ribosmal DNA의 5.8S를 포함한 ITS영역의 염기 서열을 분석하였던 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. Alternaria spp.의 rDNA ITS영역의 염기서열 크기는 548∼562bp였으며 5.8S rDNA에서는 비교종간에 서로 일치하였고 ITS I에서는 종간 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다. 2. 기주특이적 독소 생성 Alternaria spp.의 rDNA의 ITS영역의 염기서열은 비병원성인 A. alternata의 염기서열과는 서로 일치하였으나 A. brassicicola와는 3%, A. solani와는 7%의 염기서열 차를 보였다. 3. 기주특이적 독소 생성 Alternaria spp.는 비병원성 A. alternata와 진화적으로 매우 가까운 유연관계를 나타내었다. The regions of internal transcribed spacer(ITS) including 5.8S ribosomal DNA(rDXA) from six host-specific toxin(HST) producing Alternaria spp. nonpathogenic A. alternata. A. solani and A. brassicicola were sequenced to assess their relationship in taxonomy. There was no difference in the sequences of ITS including 5.8S rDNA among the HST-producing Alternaria spp. and nonpathogenic A. alternata. However, the sequences of HST-producing Alternaria spp. were different from those of A. solani and A. brassicicola by about 7% and 3%, respectively. These results suggest that HST-producing Alternaria spp. are evolutionarily very close to non pathogenic A. alternata although they have host-specific pathogenecity.

The department stores in Korea, which represent the existing distribution industries, face a structural turning point. Especially, such environmental changes seriously threaten the department stores in Kwangju. In addition the big department stores and discount stores in Seoul opened or will open their branch shops in Kwangju, and so the keen competition of local industries is expected. If the big department stores with rich fund and advanced management know-how establish their branch shops in local areas, the status of existing local department stores will lowered as much. Therefore, the local department stores need to analyze and examine all conditions of competitors as well as their own current conditions and levels. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the department stores have been recognized by consumers as a pre-stage for facing the environmental changes, to schematize the consumer's preference for department stores in Kwangju spatially and to connect the properties which compose the image of a department store based on the perceptual position and competitive relations which the consumers recognize for four department stores (Garden, Songwon, Shinsegae and Funny) in Kwangju as research objects, and then to find the strength and weakness of a department store. This study uses PC-MDS program to grasp the competitive relations among department stores and make a positioning map. As a result of examining the matrix data about customers' responses for the degree of similarity of four department stores by each couple with a KYST analysis, Shinsegae and Songwon are superior to Garden and Funny. In addition, in order to interpret the axis (dimension) of scheme from KYST, this study abstracts 12 properties which compose the images of department stores and performs a PROFIT analysis, and furthermore consumers are asked to choose their preferred department stores in three conditions (gift purchase, dress purchase, and A/S and disposal of returned goods) and then this study conducts PREFMAP analysis. The result suggests that the consumers recognize Shinsegae and Songwon as the best department stores. Finally, the results of this study show the perceptual position of four department stores in Kwangju schematically and propose the position of the most ideal department stores, and this study suggests the direction of strategy for positioning of department stores in Kwangju, as a pre-stage to understand how the department stores are recognized by consumers, in order to cope with the environmental changes.

TV드라마 〈사랑의불시착〉의 서사 특징과 일본 4차 한류 현상의 상관관계 연구

악화일로를 달리고 있는 한일 관계 속에서도 최근 일본을 중심으로 한류의 기세가 거세다. 이른바 4차 한류로 명명(命名)되는 최근 한류 열풍의 도화선이 된 것은 넷플릭스를 통해 전 세계에 독점 공개된 TV드라마 〈사랑의 불시착〉과 〈이태원 클라쓰〉이다. 본고는 이 가운데 드라마 〈사랑의 불시착〉을 중심으로 드라마의 서사적 특징과 한류 열풍과의 상관관계를 일본의 사회, 문화적 배경을 통해 고찰하였다. 연구 결과 다음음과 같은 점들을 확인하였다. 첫째 북한을 소재로 한 설정은 일본인들의 독특한 북일관계와 북한 인식 등을 배경으로 남성 시청층을 새로운 드라마 소비층으로 확보하였다. 둘째 〈사랑의 불시착〉에 등장하는 여성 캐릭터들의 주체적이고 당당한 모습은 여전히 뿌리 깊은 가부장제와 여성에 대한 경직된 문화가 잔존해있는 일본 사회의 여성들에게 자신의 목소리를 찾아주고 대리만족을 느끼게 해줌으로써 드라마에 더욱 열광하도록 만들었다. 셋째, 드라마 속에 일관되게 흐르는 웃음 코드 속에서 일본인들에게 익숙한 전통 예능인 만자이(漫才) 요소를 발견할 수 있었으며, 끝으로 드라마 〈사랑의 불시착〉 속의 주요 공간적 배경인 북한과 북한 주민들의 리얼한 일상의 풍경은 일본에서도 붐을 이루고 있는 ‘쇼와 노스탤지어(昭和ノスタルジア)’ 현상과 결합하며 드라마에 대한 흡입력을 높이는 데 기여했다. Despite the worsening relationship between Korea and Japan, the Korean Wave has been on the rise recently, especially in Japan. The so-called fourth wave of Hallyu, or the Korean Wave, has sparked the latest wave of Korean Wave, which was exclusively released on Netflix, Crash Landing on You and Itaewon Class. Among them, the study considered the relationship between the box office factors of the drama and the Korean Wave craze through the social and cultural backgrounds of Japan. The study identified the following points: First, the North Korea-based setting has secured a male audience as a new drama consumer based on the unique Japanese-North Korea relationship and awareness of North Korea. Second, the self-reliant and imposing appearance of female characters in Crash Landing on You has made Japanese women, who still maintain a deep-rooted patriarchal system and a rigid culture of women, more enthusiastic about the drama by finding their voices and making them feel vicarious satisfaction. Third, we could find Manzyai element, a traditional entertainment that is familiar to Japanese people in the drama, and finally, the real daily scenery and story created by North Koreans and North Koreans, the space in the drama Crash Landing on You, combined with the Shōwa Nostalgia phenomenon, which is also booming in Japan, contributing to the increased suction power to the drama.
