      • Scenedesmus quadricauda var. biornatus Kiss의 형태변이

        6 strains of S. quadricauda var. biornatus Kiss which is new to Korea were isolated from 6 different localities in Seoul and Kyunggi-do area in order to examine their taxonomic identity. Morphological variations of the coenobia, percentage of coenobia formed and the ultrastructure of the cell wall were observed in both synchronized and stationary cultures. Three different coenobial types, i.e. abundans type, biornatus type and quadricauda type were produced in all isolates. The percentages of coenobial types produced in different strains varied depending on the culture period. The cell wall structure of all but one(st. QB-6) strain were identical and constant through out the culture period. The cell wall structure of S. quadricauda var biornatus were unique in its smooth surface and the presence of 1 or 2 rosette, and could be easely distinguished from those of S. quadricauda, S. armatus, S. ellipsoideus and S. intermedius which produce biornatus type coenobia during early log phase of growth.

        콤포머의 NaOH 용액 내에서의 화학적 분해

        이상적인 수복재료는 치아의 저작기능과 심미성을 회복할 수 있어야 하며 동시에 생체 적합성과 구강 내 환경변화에 대한 내구성을 가지고 있어야 한다. 그러나 수복물이 장기간 구강 내 환경에 노출되면 수복물 표면의 마모와 변색 및 수복물 자체의 파괴가 발생될 수 있다. 콤포머도 복합 레진처럼 낮은 마모 저항성을 주요한 단점으로 지적할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 현재 유치 수복에 많이 사용되고 있는 Dyract (Dentsply, USA), Elan(Kerr, USA), F-2000(3M, USA)의 3종의 콤포머(polyacid modified resin composites)를 알칼리성 용액(0.1N NaOH)에 보관하였을 때 각 제품의 무게손실, 분해층 깊이 및 시편내에서 용출된 Si, Al과 Ba의 농도를 평가하여 제품간의 분해저항성을 평가하고 비교를 하고자 하였다. 각 제품 당 6개의 시편을 제작하여 무게 측정을 한 후, 0.1N NaOH용액, 3㎖에 저장하여 60℃에서 보관하였다. 2주후 제거하여 1.23% HCI로 2시간동안 중화하고 증류수로 세척한 60℃에서 건조하였다. 분해저항성은 무게손실, 분해층 깊이 및 시편내의 Si, Al과 Ba의 농도 변화를 근거로 평가하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 각 제품의 무게 손실량은 1.43%~2.14%까지 다양하였으며 제품 간에 유의한 차이는 없었다. 2. 각 제품의 표면하 분해층 깊이는 182.92㎛~227.70㎛였으며 제품 간에 유의한 차이는 없었다. 3. 각 제품으로부터 용출된 Si, Al양은 각 제품마다 유의한 차이가 있었으며(p<0.05), Si는 Dyract에서 Al은 F-2000에서 가장 많은 양이 방출되었다. 용출된 Ba양은 각 제품마다 유의한 차이가 없었다. 4. 무게 손실량과 표면하 분해층 깊이 사이의 상관 관계에서 비교적 높은 상관관계를 보였다(r=0.64, p<0.05). 5. 주사전자현미경 관찰시 0.1N NaOH용액에 보관한 후 콤포머기질과 필러사이의 결합의 파괴를 관찰할 수 있었으며, 기질이 소실되어 필러입자가 두드러진 양상을 보였다. 또한 필러입자의 표면은 분해에 의해 탈회된 모습을 보였다. 이상의 결과에서 현재 유치 수복에 사용되고 있는 3종의 콤포머는 분해저항성에 있어 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. The aim of this study was to evaluate the resistance to degradation of three commercial compomers in an alkaline solution. Dyract(Dentsply). Elan(Kerr) and F-2000(3M) polyacid modified resin composites(compomers) were used in this study. The resistance to degradation was evaluated on the basis of mass loss(%), degradation depth(μm) and Si, Al, Ba loss(ppm). The results were as follows : 1. The mass loss of each brand was 1.42%-2.14% and there was no statistically significant difference of mass loss among Dyract, F2000 and Elan. 2. The degradation layer depth of each brand was 182.92-227.7μm and there was no statistically significant difference of degradation layer depth among Dyract, F2000 and Elan. 3. There was statistically significant differences in Si-loss and Al-loss among three compomers (p〈0.05). Si loss was the highest value in Dyract and Al loss was the highest value in F2000. 4. There was statistically significant correlation between mass loss and degradation layer depth (r=0.60, p〈0.05). 5. In SEM finding, there was some destruction of compomer matrix-filler interface in post-exposure specimen to NaOH solution. As the matrix decreased, the filler particles distinguished and the periphery of the filler particles appeared whitish color due to degradation.

        컴포머에 대한 복합레진의 전단결합강도에 관한 연구

        컴포머(compomer) 충전물이 파절될 경우 즉, 컴포머 수복이 실패했을 때 기존 컴포머의 파절된 부분(aged compomer)을 복합레진으로 수복해야 하는 경우를 고려해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 컴포머의 표면처리 방법에 따른 수리(repair)를 위한 복합레진과의 전단결합강도 변화를 알아보기 위해 두 개의 mold를 만들어서 Dyract AP, F2000를 컴포머 수복재료로, Z250을 수리용 복합레진 재료로 사용하여 컴포머와 레진을 부착시킨 시편을 제작하였다. 컴포머와 복합레진의 종류 조합, 본딩레진 사용유무, 열순환 처리 유무, 표면거칠기 부여 유무, 기존 수복물의 시효(aging)에 따라 10개의 군으로 나누어, 컴포머와 복합레진간의 전단결합강도를 측정하고 그 파절양상을 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 컴포머의 복합레진에 대한 전단결합강도를 측정한 결과, Dyract AP가 F2000 보다는 높은 전단강도 값을 보였으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 없었으며 (p>0.05), fresh 컴포머군이 aged 컴포머군보다 결합강도가 높았다(p<0.05). 2. 각 군간의 전단결합강도를 측정한 결과 Dyract AP에 접착제를 도포하고 Z250을 접착시킨 제 5군이 가장 높았으며, Dyract AP를 충전하고 1주일간 물에 보관한 후 건조시켜 표면을 roughening 한 후 Z250을 충전시킨 제 9군에서 가장 낮았다(p<0.05). 3. 열순환을 시행한 군이 시행하지 않은 군보다 전단결합강도가 낮게 나타났으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 없었다. 4. 각 재료들의 결합실패가 일어난 파절단면을 조직학적으로 관찰한 결과, 전반적으로 접착파괴를 보였으나, 접착제를 도포한 군에서는 응집파괴가 우세하게 나타났다. 이상의 결과 fresh 컴포머 위에 접착제를 도포한 다음 수리용 복합레진 재료를 사용함으로써 컴포머와 복합레진간의 결합력을 증가시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 fresh 컴포머 위에 복합레진을 즉시 충전한 경우가 높은 결합력을 얻을 수 있었다. Aged 컴포머와 복합레진간의 성공적인 결합력을 얻으려면 aged 컴포머의 표면을 mechanically roughening하고 접착제를 도포한후 복합레진을 충전해야 할 것으로 사료된다. For the purpose of comparing the bond strengths of compomers to composite resin, composite 2250, and two polyacid modified composite resin, Dyract AP and F2000, were selected and investigated using universal testing machine for measuring the shear bond strengths. Additionally, the failure modes were examined by observing the fractured surfaces of each specimen. The following results were obtained. 1. The shear bond strength of Dyract AP to Z250 were higher than those of F2000, but there was no statistically significant difference between group 1 and group 3(p>0.05), and groups using fresh compomers showed higher bond strength than those using aged compomers(p<0.05). 2. After measuring the shear bond strength of each group, it was highest in group 5 and was lowest in group 9(p<0.05). 3. Although there was no statistically significant difference, groups treated with thermocycling showed lower bond strengths than those of non-thermocycling groups. 4. Overall compomer/composite resin failures were adhesive. Cohesive failures occurred mainly in groups using bonding agent. Based on these results, the application of a bonding agent on fresh polyacid-modified resin composite increases the bond strength between polyacid-modified resin composite and composite resin. Additionally, the surface of aged polyacid-modified resin composite has to be roughened mechanically and a bonding agent has to be used in combination with composite resin.

      • 급성 백혈병 환자에서 발생한 감염 양상의 분석(1986~1992)

        Infection is a major complication and potentially life-threatening in patients with acute leukemia. The patients require prompt broad-spectrum antibiotics therapy when fever develops. One of the keys to successful patient management is the recognition of institutional trends of the spectrum of infections and infecting microorganisms. So we evaluated 138 patients with acute leukemia and blastic crisis of chronic myelogenous leukemia admitted to Seoul National University Hospital from July 1986 to June 1992. The results are following: 1) Total number of febrile episodes was 224 and 60% of them occurred after chemotherapy. 2) Microbiologically-defined infection, clinically-defined infection, and unexplained fever accounted for 28%, 45%, 27% of the febrile episodes respectively. 3) Fifty-eight percent of microbiologically-defined infections were caused by gram-negative bactria, and 36% were gram-positive bacteria. There was a tendency to a greater proportion of gram (+) organisms than that of the last study (p>0.1). Escherichia coli was the most common organism, and coagulase-negative staphylococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae were common in decreasing order. 4) Pneumonia was the most common type of infection, followed by skin and soft tissue infection, perianal infection, gingivitis and primary septicemia. 5) Seventy-two percent of total infections improved with therapy and this success rate was higher than that of the last study(p<0.001).

        한국어판 모호한 의도-적개심 설문지 개발

        Objectives We studied the psychometric properties of a Korean version of the Ambiguous Intentions Hostility Questionnaire (K-AIHQ), which measures hostile social-cognitive biases for use in the research on paranoia. Methods The translation and back-translation of the AIHQ with concern for the cultural differences were done according to the standard procedure. A sample of 83 healthy volunteers completed the K-AIHQ. Results The scores of the K-AIHQ were comparable to the results of the original studies. The Paranoia Scale was correlated with the K-AIHQ, but Magical Ideation and Perceptual Aberration scales were not correlated with the K-AIHQ. The interrater reliabilities of the items in each situation were in the acceptable range. Conclusion The KAIHQ seems to be a reliable and valid test to measure the hostile social Cognitive biases of patients with paranoia.

        당의 종류 및 첨가량을 달리한 깨다식의 품질특성

        깨다식의 감미 및 물성 등의 개선을 위해 꿀보다 높은 점도와 hardness를 가지는 쌀엿과 조청 등을 첨가 혼합하여 품질을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 깨다식의 적정 재료 배합비는 깨가루 100 기준시, 꿀과 쌀엿의 동량 혼합액 50%(w/w)였으며, 이를 기준으로 제조한 깨다식의 이화학적 특성은 당도 17.44 brix˚, tnqns 12.16, 환원당 15.44, 단백질 12.88, 지방 32.02, 조회분 2.82 %이었고, 기계적 특성 중 TPA의 chewiness는 0.28~0.30, hardness는 27.22~27.44 g/㎠이고, 색도의 L값은 41.67, a값 4.58, 그리고 b값은 16.99였다. This study was carried out to investigate the effects of the addition of sweeteners to Sesame Dasiks. Sesame Dasiks were prepared by adding various sweeteners to sesame seeds powder, at 40, 50, 60 and 70%, and their quality characteristics were measured. In the chewiness and hardness analyses of Sesame Dasiks, the 50% group (the same ratio and mixture of honey and lire jelIy) gave the highest results. For the sweetness, taste and overall acceptability of the Sesame Dasiks, the 50% group was also the better The texture profile analyses found the optimal chewiness and hardness of the Sesame Dasik to be 0.28 ~ 0.30 and 27.22 ~ 27.44, respectively.

        SIRT1 Suppresses Activating Transcription Factor 4 (ATF4) Expression in Response to Proteasome Inhibition

        The synthetic machinery of ATF4 (activating transcription factor 4) is activated in response to various stress conditions involved in nutrient restriction, endoplasmic reticulum homeostasis, and oxidation. Stress-induced inhibition of proteasome activity triggers the unfolded protein response and endoplasmic reticulum stress, where ATF4 is crucial for consequent biological events. In the current study, we showed that the NAD+-dependent deacetylase, SIRT1, suppresses ATF4 synthesis during proteasome inhibition. SIRT1 depletion via transfection of specific siRNA into HeLa cells resulted in a significant increase in ATF4 protein, which was observed specifically in the presence of the proteasome inhibitor MG132. Consistent with SIRT1 depletion data, transient transfection of cells with SIRT1-overexpressing plasmid induced a decrease in the ATF4 protein level in the presence of MG132. Interestingly, however, ATF4 mRNA was not affected by SIRT1, even in the presence of MG132, indicating that SIRT1-induced suppression of ATF4 synthesis occurs under post-transcriptional control. Accordingly, we propose that SIRT1 serves as a negative regulator of ATF4 protein synthesis at the post-transcriptional level, which is observed during stress conditions, such as proteasome inhibition.

        Japanese students who study Korean as a foreign language have an advantage in learning Korean compared to other students because of their similarities of Korean and Japanese. But even Japanese students have difficulties in learning Korean passive form.Korean passive form and Japanese passive form have differences in meaning and usages as well as similarities. Both Korean and Japanese have passive form as a counterpart of active form. But there are differences in usages of Korean passive form and Japanese passive form in some ways. In meanings, Korean passive form represents the actions completed and the actions done by someone. And Japanese passive form represents receiving the actions and the actions done by someone. Some of Japanese passive forms expresses the meanings of possibilities and respects according to the meanings of verbs. Korean passive form mainly represents the actions completed and Japanese passive form mainly explains the performers and the action done by them. So Korean passive forms connects with ‘-아/어 있다’ frequently and Japanese passive forms connects with ‘-てしまう’ frequently. In usages, there are some Japanese intransitive verbs which are expressed in passive way in Korean. In the other way, there are some Korean transitive verbs which are expressed in passive way in Japanese also. Therefore some of Korean passive forms could be translated into intransitive verbs of Japanese to present same meaning. In the other way, some of Japanese passive forms could be translated into transitive verbs of Korean to present same meaning. For the effective teaching of Korean passive form, we should approach the method of teaching the passive forms with the understanding of differences of Korean and Japanese passive forms.
