        Effects of dietary supplementation of Pediococcus pentosaceus strains from kimchi in weaned piglet challenged with Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica

        Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Salmonella enterica (SE) infections in pigs are major source associated with enteric disease such as post weaning diarrhea. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Pediococcus pentosaceus in weaned piglets challenged with pathogen bacteria. In Experiment.1 90 weaned piglets with initial body weights of 8.53 ± 0.34 kg were assigned to 15 treatments for 2 weeks. The experiments were conducted two trials in a 2 × 5 factorial arrangement of treatments consisting of two levels of challenge (challenge and non-challenge) with E. coli and SE, respectively and five levels of probiotics (Control, Lactobacillus plantarum [LA], Pediococcus pentosaceus SMFM2016-WK1 [38W], Pediococcus acidilactici K [PK], Lactobacillus reuteri PF30 [PF30]). In Experiment.2 a total of 30 weaned pigs (initial body weight of 9.84 ± 0.85 kg) were used in 4 weeks experiment. Pigs were allocated to 5 groups in a randomized complete way with 2 pens per group and 3 pigs per pen. Supplementation of LA and 38W improved (p < 0.05) growth performance, intestinal pathogen bacteria count, fecal noxious odor and diarrhea incidence. In conclusion, supplementation of 38W strains isolated from white kimchi can act as probiotics by inhibiting E. coli and SE.

        반복적인 경련을 동반한 아이소니아지드(Isoniazid) 중독환자의 치험 1례

        Isoniazid(Isonicotinic acid hydrazide) is an antimicrobial drug used since 1952 as a first line agent for the prophylaxis and treatment of tuberculosis. Isoniazid is well known for problems in population having a high prevalence of isoniazid use for prophylaxis or treatment of tuberculosis. But intentional or accidental isoniazid overdose is uncommon. The ingestion of toxic amounts of isoniazid causes recurrent seizures, profound metabolic acidosis, coma and even death. In adults, toxicity can occur with the acute ingestion of as little as 1.5g of isoniazid. Doses larger than 30mg per kg often produce seizures. When ingested in amounts of 80-150mg per kg or more, isoniazid can be rapid fatal. 40-year-old woman having previous pulmonary tuberculosis ingested 7gram of isoniazid(140mg/kg) to attempt suicide approximately 30 minutes prior to visit to our emergency medical center. She had recurrent generalized tonicclonic seizures and metabolic acidosis. We report one patient treated with pyridoxine, which was equivalent to the amount of isoniazid ingested and administered as a intravenous dose and oral dose

      • P.S 콘크리트 구조물의 신뢰성 해석

        P.S 콘크리트 구조물의 신뢰성 해석을 위해서는 구조물에 작용하는 외력의 분포와 각 요소의 피로강도에 작용하는 외력의 분포, 피로강도 및 수명 등에 대한 정량적인 해석이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 2 Piece Wedge 와 3 Piece Wedge를 장착한 P.S 콘크리트 시험체의 정적 최대하중의 60%, 70%, 75%의 응력 수준으로 피로시험을 수행하여, S-N 선도에 의한 피로수명 예측과 피로 수명 분포특성을 고찰하였으며, 이에 대한 실험결과는 피로해석에 적합한 Weibull 분포에 적용하였다. 먼저 Weibull 분포에 따른 P.S 콘크리트 시험체의 피로강도해석과 2 Piece Wedge 와 3 Piece Wedge 시험체의 안전계수 및 위험함수, Weibull 분포의 계수들을 결정한 수, 2 Piece Wedge 와 3 Piece Wedge 시험체의 응력 수준별 피로수명 분포도를 산출하며, 응력 수준이 높을수록 파괴되어질 확률을 알아보았으며, 신뢰성함수를 산출하였다.

      • 타게트 조성에 따른 비정질 KNbO₃박막의 굴절율

        Refractive indicies of armorphous potassium noibate thinfilm deposited from target dependence on composition were measured. Targets were made of 3 composition mole% ratios (K₂Co₃: ?? = 55:45,50:50,45:55), and 3 calcine temperature (700,750,800℃). The x-ray diffraction spectra showed single-crystalline targets. And thinfilms were deposited on glass substrate with 100 and 150W sputtering rf power. All thinfilms has showed K and Nb from EDX spectra. Refractive indices of armorphous potassium niobate thimfilm were distributed from 2.13 to 2.21 at 632.8 nm and transmittance has 90% average, such that deposited from target of composition.

        In this study, Mechanical property, thermal property, watervapor, and oxygen permeability of biodegradable Soy protein/Pectin-montmorillonite nanocomposite, prepared with Na^(+)-MMT, have been studied. X-ray diffraction and TEM experiments an polymer/silicate composite samples demonstrated that the intercalation of polymer chains leads to increase in the spacing between silicate layers. In addition, it were found that the intercalated Soy protein/Pectin/montmorillonite nanocomposite were prepared. It was found that the addition of only a small of clay was enough to improve the thermal stability and mechanical property of Soy protein/Pectin/montmorillonite nanocomposite. watervapor of Soy protein/Pectin/montmorillonite nanocomposite was generally lower than that of Soy protein/Pectin. oxygen permeability of Soy protein/Pectin/montmorillonite nanocomposite was generally lower than that of Soy protein/Pectin.

      • SbSI결정의 Piezoelectricity에 관한 연구

        The SbSI crystal were grown by the phase transportation method. Dielectric constant and D.C. conductivity were measured in the temperature range between 0℃ and 40℃. By measuring the resonance-antiresonance method, the piezoelectric modulus ??, electromechanical coupling factor ?? and elastic compliance coefficients ??, ?? have been determined in the temperature range between 5℃ and 22℃. The ?? has been found to show the highest value of ?? cgs esu near the Curie point. The ?? shows an extremely high value of 85% just below the Curie point. While ?? exhibits a pronounced anomaly below Curie point ??/dyne) is almost temperature independent.

        This study was undertaken to determine if Pyungangaeuljyhyul-tang (PG) has a protective effect against CCL-induced liver cell injury in rabbits. Rabbits were treated intraperitoneally with 0.5㎖/㎏ of CCL₄. In experiments for PG effect, rabbits were pretreated with 2.5 ㎖ of PG for 24 hr before and 24 hr after injection of CCL₄. When rabbits were treated with CCL₄, serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) activities were increased compared with the control. Such an increase in enzyme activity was significantly inhibited by pretreatment of PG. CCL₄ treatment incrased lipid peroxidation, and its effect was prevented by PG. CCL₄ treatment resulted in a reduction of reduced glutathione (GSH) and an increase of oxidized glutathione (GSSG), which were attenuated by pretreatment of PG. These results suggest that PG could be used in prevention and treatment of drug-induced liver cell injury. However, the precise mechanisms of PG protection remain to be determined.

        협지방대유경이식술을 통한 구강상악동루의 외과적 치험례

        IN 1956, Peer presented a very comprehensive account of free fatty tissue transplantation. The use of buccal fat pad had been usually used to reconstruct the perioral defects. The buccal fat pad is a special fatty tissue which is markdly different from subcutaneous fat. And it is a easily accessible fat tissue in oral and maxillofacial region. The buccal fat pad can be used as a free graft or pedicled flap. Recently, buccal fat pad is interested in cosmetic surgery because its' removal for cosmetic purpose has been favorable result. We used the buccal fat as an unlined, pedicled graft for closure of large oroantral fistula. We present a case of report and review of literature.
