We investigated the structure of bacterial communities present in livestock manure-based composting processes and evaluated the bacterial succession during the composting processes. Compost samples were derived separately from swine manure, dairy manure and sewage sludge. The structure of the bacterial community was analyzed by polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) using universal eubacterial primers. The genus Bacillus and related genera were mainly detected following the thermophilic composting phase of swine and dairy manure composts, and the members of the phylum Bacteroidetes were mainly detected in the cattle manure waste-based and sewage sludge compost. We recovered and sequenced limited number of the bands; however, the PCR-DGGE analysis showed that predominant diversities during the composting processes were markedly changed. Although PCR-DGGE analysis revealed the presence of different phyla in the early stages of composting, the members of the phylum Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes were observed to be one of the predominant phyla after the thermophilic phase.

The imaging spectroscopic observations of the Magellanic irregular galaxy NGC 4449 were made to show the detailed kinematic structure of the galaxy. Many filamentary structures and Several bubble-like structures are recognized in a 3D data cube of H$\alpha$ emission line. Velocity field shows the kpc-scale mosaic structure and counter- rotation of ionized gas.
Another look at sa-insertion in Japanese
Sasaki, Kan 한국음운론학회 2013 음성·음운·형태론 연구 Vol.19 No.1
The sa-inserted causative form is a sub-standard form of the causative predicate. For this phenomenon, there are two analyses, the suffix leveling analysis and the double causative analysis. The present paper advocates a third analysis, the stem leveling analysis, where sa-insertion results from treating the host for causative suffixation as the irrealis stem across the board. This analysis is compatible with all the range of sub-standard causative forms, including rarely mentioned irrealis based causative form of the s-irregular verb.

Sensory traits and preferences regarding food co-product fermented liquid (FCFL)-fed pork loin were compared with those of formula-fed pork. The FCFL-fed pork was expected to have improved fat meltability. Thirty-nine laboratory panelists took part in a sensory test. The fat meat and the lean meat of FCFL-fed pig were judged more meltable and tender, respectively, than the corresponding meat from the formula-fed pig. These sensory traits agreed closely with the results of a mechanical investigation of fat melting patterns and with Warner-Bratzlar shear force values. However, the overall preference was not significantly associated with sensory fat meltability and meat tenderness, as assessed by chi-square and correspondence analyses, but it was significantly related to the whole fat preference and the fat texture preference. The fat texture preference, however, did not correlate with sensory fat meltability. These results indicated that FCFL feeding altered sensory fat meltability in pork loin, but the preference for such meltable fat differed among individual panelists.
Prediction of Specific Noise Based on Internal Flow of Forward Curved Fan
Sasaki, Soichi,Hayashi, Hidechito,Hatakeyama, Makoto Korean Society for Fluid machinery 2009 International journal of fluid machinery and syste Vol.2 No.1
In this study, a prediction theory for specific noise that is the overall characteristic of the fan has been proposed. This theory is based on total pressure prediction and broadband noise prediction. The specific noises of two forward curved fans with different number of blades were predicted. The flow around the impeller having 120 blades (MF120) was more biased at a certain positions than the impeller with 40 blades (MF40). An effective domain of the energy conversion of MF40 has extended overall than MF120. The total pressure was affected by the slip factor and pressure loss caused by the vortex flow. The suppression of a major pressure drop by the vortex flow and expansion of the effective domain for energy conversion contributed to an increase in the total pressure of MF40 at the design point. The position of maximum relative velocity was different for each fan. The relative velocity of MF120 was less than that of MF40 due to the deviation angle. The specific noise of MF120 was 2.7 dB less than that of MF40 due to the difference in internal flow. It has been quantitatively estimated that the deceleration in the relative velocity contributed to the improvement in the overall performance.
