Efficient earth observation using spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) requires the analysis of high-resolution wide-swath (HRWS) systems, which have a fine resolution and a short revisit time through wide-area observation, and quadrature-polarimetric (quad-pol) systems, which can obtain a quad-pol image and have many applications. The operational method of SAR generally affects system performance involving the system parameters and antenna patterns, and thus analyzing HRWS quad-pol SAR systems is essential to the system design. In this paper, an extension of the modified SweepSAR technique to a quad-pol observation scenario is performed and a comparison to ScanSAR and conventional SweepSAR is provided for a simulated scenario. On the basis of the system requirements, we selected the optimal parameters and designed a reflector antenna suitable for a wide-swath quad-pol SAR system. As a result of comparing the wide-swath quad-pol SAR operation modes, the modified SweepSAR mode demonstrated advantages in terms of system performance, such as the ambiguity ratio and swath width, and reflector antenna design for a spaceborne SAR system.
Electrical Properties and Fabrication of G3-16[TPY-Ru-TPY] Dendrimer Thin Films

Dendrimers have been well known as promising macromolecules for building an organized nanostructure, whose periphery can be terminated by various functionalities. In this study, we attempted to fabricate ultra-thin dendrimer lms containing 16[TPY-Ru-TPY] end functional groups. The samples for the determination of the electrical properties were fabricated by using the Langmuir- Blodgett (LB) method. We investigated the surface activity at the air-water interface as well as the electrical properties for monolayers of the G3-16[TPY-Ru-TPY] dendrimer. The -A isotherms of the dendrimers showed that stable condensed lms were formed at the air-water interface. Also, we studied the electrical properties of ultra-thin dendrimer LB lms by using the I-V characteristics and Schottky plots with a metal/insulator/metal (MIM) structure.
감나무 부엽토에서 분리한 Phialophora sessilis에 대한 보고

경상북도 상주시에 서식하는 감나무 주변의 부엽토로부터 국내에 아직 기록되지 않은 진균을 분리하였다. 형태학적 및 계통학적 분석을 통해 분리한 균의 동정을 실시하였으며, 분석 결과 해당 균은 Phialophora sessilis로 확인되었다. 본 연구를 통해 P. sessilis가 국내에 존재함을 최초로 보고하였다. An unrecorded fungus was isolated from the leaf mold of Diospyros kaki in Sangju, Korea. Morphological and phylogenetic analyses were performed for the isolated fungus, which was ultimately identified as Phialophora sessilis. This is the first report of P. sessilis in Korea.
