The electrical and internal frictional characteristics of the polyester film which Sun-Kyung Chemical Corporation made in Korea and the Lumirror film which Panac Corporation made in Japan are studied for the domestic production of polyethylene terephthalate(PET). And, the morphologys of two kind of films are investigated. It has been found that the dielectric constant tends to decrease as the orientational polarization starts around 14[kHz], and the dielecteic constant of polyester film is lower than the Lumirror film. And it has been found that the dispersion of frequency by the loss peak by the orientational polarization was achieved at around 14[kHz]. And it has been also found that there is the temperatural characteristics that βpeak is a achieved at 100[℃]-120[℃]. And, the dielectric loss and the change of temperature in polyester film is generally bigger than that in the Lumirror film. And also. the internal frictional loss αpeak corresponding to the dielectric loss αpeak is achieved at 95[℃], the bend of the shear modulus curve and the frequency curve.

To measure temperature in microwave heating condition by thermocouple or thermistor is limited. In order to overcome this problem kinetics of ascorbic acid destruction was introduced. Activation energy for destruction of ascorbic acid was obtained under conventional heating condition. Arrehnius equation was used for prediction of rate constant under microwave vacuum heating condition. Then prediction of temperature could be obtained by using kinetic of ascorbic acid destruction that is calulated by the predicted rate constant.

In this study, a fiber-optic bundle sensor has been developed using water-equivalent organic scintillating fibers for photon beam measurement. Beam penumbra and percent depth doses(PDD) are measured according to the depth of the photon beam. This sensor has many advantages such as high resolution, real-time measurement and ease of calibration over conventional radiation measurement devices.

A single umbilical artery is present in about 2/1,000 births. Approximately 10-15% of Infants with a single umbilical artery have congenital abnormalities, usually more than one, chromosomal abnormalities, fetal growth retradation, prematurity, perinatal mortality and many such infants are stillborn or die shortly after birth. We experienced two cases of single umbilical artery. One had congenital malformation of left ectopic fused kidney, but hadn't cytogenetic abnomality. The other had cytogenetic abnormality of 46XY,inv(6)(q11q16), morphologic abnormalities of polydactyly & lower palpebral fissure and congenital abnormalities of tracheoesophageal atresia & TOF. We reported these cases with a related literature review.

2-[(4-Cyanophenyl)amino]-3-chloro-1, 4-naphthalenedione (NQ-Y15) was asssayed for its genotoxic potential by using Salmonella typhimurium reversion assay and in vitro chromosome aberration test on Chinese hamster lung cells. In the Ames test, NQ-Y15 induced his+revertants of Salmonella typhimurium TA 98 and TA 1537, reaching levels twice the negative control values. But, NQ-Y15 induced only his+revertants of Salmonella typhimurium TA 1537 more than twice the control values under the condition with metabolic activation system. In the cytogenetic test on chinese hamster lung cells. NQ-Y15 showed significant chromosomal aberrations, but the incidence was significantly reduced in the presence of metabolic activation.
