Mastitis is one of the most widespread infectious diseases that adversely affects the profitability of the dairy industry worldwide. Accurate diagnosis and identification of pathogens early to cull infected animals and minimize the spread of infection in herds is critical for improving treatment effects and dairy farm welfare. The major pathogens causing mastitis and pathogenesis are assessed first. The most recent and advanced strategies for detecting mastitis, including genomics and proteomics approaches, are then evaluated . Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of each technique, potential research directions, and future perspectives are reported. This review provides a theoretical basis to help veterinarians select the most sensitive, specific, and cost-effective approach for detecting bovine mastitis early.

This study aimed to examine the relationship between body image satisfaction and breast self-screening behaviors and intentions. The sample for this cross-sectional study consisted of 842 female university students who were recruited from a number of public and private universities. Data were obtained between the months of November and December, 2013, using multistage random cluster sampling. Main research variables were breast cancer screening behavior and intentions, demographic factors, and the total scores on each of the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire (MBSRQ-Appearance Scales) subscales. Results of multivariate analysis showed that having higher satisfaction and more positive evaluation of appearance were related to having performed breast self-examination more frequently in the last year and intending to perform breast self-examination more frequently in the next year. Longitudinal research can potentially provide detailed information about overall body image satisfaction and breast cancer screening behavior among various communities.

A porous glass-ceramic enjoyed very low and negative thermal expansion was prepared. A glass of the base molar composition, 2 MgO·2 Al 2 O 3 ·2 B 2 O 3 ·5 SiO 2 with the addition of 1.61 ma% TiO 2 , was melted from kaolin, magnesite, silica sand and boric acid. The composition is based on cordierite where 50 % Al 2 O 3 were replaced by an equimolar concentration of B 2 O 3 . The glass was crashed and powdered, subsequently plastified, uniaxially pressed and finally sintered at temperatures in the range from 1100 to 1300 °C. X-ray diffraction of sintered samples gave evidence of a cordierite like crystalline phase. Scanning electron microscopy and electron dispersive microanalysis of samples prepared at 1300 °C showed crystals with hexagonal shape doped by TiO 2 , B 2 O 3 and Fe 2 O 3 embedded in a glassy matrix. With increasing crystallization temperature, the porosity of the glass-ceramics increased from 8.99 % (at 1200 °C for 3 min) to 56.42 % (at 1300 °C for 3 min). This led to a decrease of the specimen density from 1.9880 to 1.1278 g/cm 3 whereas the skeletal density increased from 2.1303 g/cm 3 to 2.5878 g/cm 3 . The microhardnesses were in the 5.60 and 6.00 GPa range. The coefficient of thermal expansion was between -3.26 and -2.27x10 -6 K -1 from room temperature up to 300 o C and -0.45 and 1.89x10 -6 K -1 from room temperature up to 500 °C. For the first time, to the best of our knowledge, a porous cordierite glass-ceramic with negative thermal expansion is reported. The partial replacement of Al 2 O 3 by B 2 O 3 enables to apply lower melting temperature which is advantageous for the production process.

Indigofera cordifolia Heyne ex Roth. so far is reported only in the Arabian Peninsula from Oman. A recentfield expedition in the Farasan Archipelago, Saudi Arabia, Red Sea, resulted in documentation of thisspecies in Dumsuk Island. Morphological examination and molecular identification based on the nuclearribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer region of this plant species was investigated in this study. Theresult show that the internal transcribed spacer had high species-level discrimination efficiency for theidentification of Indigofera cordifolia that may provide help in authentic identification and managementprocess of this rare and nationally endangered species.

Lipase specific activity in cocoa beans varied from 70 to 40 ${\mu}mol/min/mg$ protein during six days of fermentation. At the end of this period most parts of the cotyledon has turned to brown color which would be more distinguishable after drying. The beans were slightly swollen thus causing its testa to disintegrate. During fermentation there was a decrease in pH from 6.4 to 5.8. Whereas the percentage of acetic acid was increased by 0.04% of wet weight beans on the third day but decreased progressively with time.

Background: The rates of breast cancer have increased over the past two decades, and this raises concern about physical, psychological and social well-being of women with breast cancer. Further, few women really want to do breast cancer screening. We here investigated the socio-demographic correlates of mammography participation among 400 asymptomatic Iranian women aged between 35 and 69. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted at the four outpatient clinics of general hospitals in Tehran during the period from July through October, 2009. Bi-variate analyses and multi-variate binary logistic regression were employed to find the socio-demographic predictors of mammography utilization among participants. Results: The rate of mammography participation was 21.5% and relatively high because of access to general hospital services. More women who had undergone mammography were graduates from university or college, had full-time or part-time employment, were insured whether public or private, reported a positive family history of breast cancer, and were in the middle income level (all P<0.01).The largest number of participating women was in the age range of 41 to 50 years. The results of multivariate logistic regression further showed that education (95%CI: 0.131-0.622), monthly income (95%CI: 0.038-0.945), and family history of breast cancer (95%CI: 1.97-9.28) were significantly associated (all P<0.05) with mammography participation. Conclusions: The most important issue for a successful screening program is participation. Using a random sample, this study found that the potential predictor variables of mammography participation included a higher education level, a middle income level, and a positive family history of breast cancer for Iranian women, after adjusting for all other demographic variables in the model.

Objective To investigate the effect of treadmill training with eyes open (TEO) and closed (TEC) on the knee joint position sense (JPS), functional balance and mobility in children with spastic diplegia. Methods Forty-five children with spastic diplegia aged 11–13 years participated in this study. They were randomly assigned to three groups of equal number. The control group (CON) underwent designed physical therapy program whereas, the study groups (TEO and TEC) underwent the same program, in addition to treadmill gait training with eyes open and closed, respectively. Outcome measures were the degree of knee joint position error, functional balance and mobility. Measurements were taken before and after 12 weeks of intervention. Results After training, the three groups showed statistically significant improvement in all measured outcomes, compared to the baseline with non-significant change in the knee JPS in the CON group. When comparing posttreatment results, the TEC group showed greater significant improvement in all measured outcomes, than the TEO and CON groups. Conclusion Treadmill training with eyes open and closed is effective in rehabilitation of children with diplegia, but blocked vision treadmill training has more beneficial effect.

This article presents the effects of three copper precursors and four precipitating agents on the catalytic performance of the corresponding co-precipitated Cu-MgO catalysts in the vapor-phase hydrogenation of furfural. The chemical and physical properties were analyzed by means of XRD, BET, SEM, and EDX techniques. The nitrate precursor provided the highest performance (conversion of ~89%). Whereas, the catalyst prepared with NaOH was the most efficient (furfuryl alcohol yield of >90%) during 240min; the most durable conversion (~95%) was assured with Na2- CO3, and the highest selectivity to furfuryl alcohol (>97%) was achieved with K2CO3 as the precipitating agent. The least efficient catalyst (prepared with ammonium carbonate) led to 5-methylfurfural and 2,2-methylenebisfuran as the main byproducts. The major byproducts over the rest of the catalysts included tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol, furfuryl ether, 1-pentanol, and 2-methylfuran. An increasing trend of furfuryl alcohol selectivity with time-on-stream was evident for all of the catalysts.

Zinc oxide nanocrystals were prepared, using the Czochralsk¨ı method of growth, in a KBr matrix during pulling. Good evidence was found for the quantum confinement effect being special quality of this nanosystem. As an indication of the quantum confinement effect, excellent emissions from the band edge have been observed in the optical absorption and selective PLspectra. The XRD spectrum exhibits a preferential insertion of ZnO aggregates within the KBr matrix.
