        Грани литературной репутации А.П. Чехова: между аксиомой и мифом

        Knowing the writer’s literary reputation means a constant change of senses, thus, being a variable. Though significant facets of a literary reputation are rigidly determined by their contemporaries' appreciation during their life or shortly after their death, each epoch tends to recreate that image. Thus the image of a writer is a complex literary casus predetermined by a conflict of divergent tendencies: the former being manifested in a sustainable comprehension of an artistic personality, and the latter striving to limit that accumulation, to cast that neverending change into a cliché of perceptions depreciating an ongoing historical movement. Moreover the very bulk of reputation senses maintains limited, so every new generation tends to erase some information about the writer’s personality excessive in a present interpretation. Art and life, mythology and history are typical outlines of reputation analysis. Thus we have to admit that reputation is axiomatic due to the interaction of a number of factors: trends of poetics, needs of biography, laws and traditions of history, but primarily due to contradictions inherent to the language corpus. All above mentioned factors result in various conventions that lead us to the commentary. It doesn’t mean that the commentary stands somewhere aside from the problems outlined above. It closely interacts with history, sociology, and poetics. Alongside the commentary possesses an ideal feature: it levels the contradictions between (or among) different fields of humanities or its methods. When most questions about the text can be regarded as attempts to enter deep the writer’s world, then text comprehension in fact is focused on the writer’s personality. Thus, why not to start from this very point when getting down to the analysis as it is.

        Local buckling of rectangular steel tubes filled with concrete

        This scientific paper provides a theoretical, numerical and experimental analysis of local stability of axially compressed columns made of thin-walled rectangular concrete-filled steel tubes (CFSTs), with the consideration of initial geometric imperfections. The work presented introduces the theory of elastic critical stresses in local buckling of rectangular wall members under uniform compression. Moreover, a numerical calculation method for the determination of the critical stress coefficient is presented, using a differential equation for a slender wall with a variety of boundary conditions. For comparison of the results of the numerical analysis with those collected by experiments, a new model is created to study the behaviour of the composite members in question by means of the ABAQUS computational-graphical software whose principles are based on the finite element method (FEM). In modelling the analysed members, the actual boundary and loading conditions and real material properties are taken into account, obtained from the experiments and material tests on these members. Finally, the results of experiments on such members are analysed and then compared with the numerical values. In conclusion, several recommendations for the design of axially compressed composite columns made of rectangular concrete-filled thin-walled steel tubes are suggested as a result of this comparison.

      • Synthesis and photophysical properties of copolyfluorenes for light-emitting applications: Spectroscopic experimental study and theoretical DFT consideration

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Using Suzuki and Yamamoto coupling reactions, copoly-(9,9-dioctylfluorenes) (<B>CPF</B>) were synthesized and compared regarding their photophysical properties using the spectroscopic and <I>ab initio</I> DFT approaches. The CPFs were functionalized by benzo [2,3,5] thiadiazole (<B>BT</B>) or carbazole-3,6-diyl (3,6-Cz). The latter was used to introduce different luminophore fragments, including Nile red and 4-pyrrolidinyl-1,8-naphthalimide derivatives. The effect of the two synthesis techniques on the polymer microstructure, the influence of embedding of 3,6-Cz moieties in the polymer backbone on polymer structuring, and the impact of the end groups like novel quinoxaline-containing compounds on the luminescent properties of CPFs were investigated. By comparing electron density distribution using the <I>ab initio</I> DFT approach with photoluminescence, it was shown that Suzuki reaction provides a chain microstructure with individual BT fragments separated by 9,9-dioctylfluorene monomeric units, while Yamamoto reaction leads to the blocks of BT units.         Anton Chekhov`s Literary Reputation Facets: Somewhere Between Maxim and Myth

        작가의 문학적 평판은 의미의 끊임없는 운동이며, 따라서 그것은 변수이다. 당대인들에 의한 문학적 평판의 중요한 면들이 지닌 한계성에도 불구하고 각 시대는 이 상(像)을 매번 개조한다. 때문에 평판은 여러 경향들간의 투쟁에 의해 미리 결정되어 있다. 그 첫 번째 경향은 창조적 개성에 대한 보충가능한 인식 경험을 대변하며, 두 번째 경향은 역사의 운동을 평가절하하는 당면한 현재의 클리셰들의 축적에 대해 한계를 부과한다. 이때 평판의 의미 용량은 제한돤 크기로 유지되며, 각각의 세대는 새로운 조건들 속에서 불필요하게 된 전기적(傳記的) 정보를 기각해버린다. 우리는 몇몇 요인들의 상호작용에 의해 부과된 공리의 권력을 인정하도록 강요받는다. 시학의 경향, 전기의 필요성, 역사의 법칙과 전통, 그리고 무엇보다 언어 자료 자체의 모순이 바로 그 요인들이다. 이 모든 충돌들은 우리로 하여금 필연적으로 주석에 눈길을 돌리게 만드는데, 이는 주석이 인문학적 지식의 다양한 분야혹은 그 방법들 사이의 모순을 제거해주는 이상적인 속성을 지니고 있기 때문이다. 주석 장르가 특별한 가치를 얻게 되는 것은 1차 자료(일기, 회상록)와 전기와의 관계에서이다. 텍스트에 대한 다양한 관심이 작가에게로 수렴된다면, 작가로부터 바로 분석을 시작하지 못할 이유가 무엇인가?         Proposals for improving the Logistics Performance Index

        The purpose of this study is to propose ways for improving the current Logistics Performance Index published by the World Bank. The Logistics Performance Index is based on a global survey of logistics experts, which can be biased towards a subjective view on different countries’ logistics systems, which leads to a potentially skewed rating. The authors propose a modified index that qualitatively and quantitatively represents an objective view of 159 countries’ logistics systems and subsystems, based on international statistical data, which can be used as a benchmarking tool for governments.

        Study on an open fuel cycle of IVG.1M research reactor operating with LEU-fuel

        The fuel cycle characteristics of the IVG.1M reactor were studied within the framework of the research reactor conversion program to modernize the IVG.1M reactor. Optimum use of the nuclear fuel and reactor was achieved through routine methods which included partial fuel reloading combined with scheduled maintenance operations. Since, the additional problem in planning the fuel cycle of the IVG.1M reactor was the poisoning of the beryllium parts of the core, reflector, and control system. An assessment of the residual power and composition of spent fuel is necessary for the selection and justification of the technology for its subsequent management. Computational studies were performed using the MCNP6.1 program and the neutronics model of the IVG.1M reactor. The proposed scheme of annual partial fuel reloading allows for maintaining a high reactor reactivity margin, stabilizing it within 2–4 βeff for 20 years, and achieving a burnup of 9.9–10.8 MW × day/kg U in the steady state mode of fuel reloading. Spent fuel immediately after unloading from the reactor can be placed in a transport packaging cask for shipping or safely stored in dry storage at the research reactor site.

        Mössbauer and MCD spectroscopy of the Fe3S4 nanoparticles synthesized by the thermal decomposition method with two different surfactants

        Greigite (Fe3S4) nanoparticles (NPs) were fabricated by the thermal decomposition method using two different surfactants: oleylamine (OLA) and 1-hexadecylamine (HDA). In both cases, the synthesized NPs were characterized as the Fe3S4 nanocrystals with minor inclusions of Fe9S11 phase. FT-IR spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis allow concluding about OLA or HDA shells covering magnetic core of NPs. M¨ossbauer spectra has revealed deviations of iron ions distribution among crystal positions from that presented in literature for pure greigite. In accordance with these deviations, the pronounce changes are observed in the magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra which manifest themselves as the spectrum shift to higher energies of electromagnetic waves and redistribution of the MCD maximum intensities. These effects are associated with a change in the density of electronic states in the samples due to the redistribution of iron ions between octahedral and tetrahedral positions in nanocrystals under the influence of surfactants.
