• Weyl rings and enhanced susceptibilities in pyrochlore iridates: k·p analysis of cluster dynamical mean-field theory results

        Wang, Runzhi,Go, Ara,Millis, Andrew American Physical Society 2017 Physical Review B Vol.96 No.19

We match analytic results to numerical calculations to provide a detailed picture of the metal-insulator and topological transitions found in density functional plus cluster dynamical mean-field calculations of pyrochlore iridates. We discuss the transition from Weyl metal to Weyl semimetal regimes, and then analyze in detail the properties of the Weyl semimetal phase and its evolution into the topologically trivial insulator. The energy scales in the Weyl semimetal phase are found to be very small, as are the anisotropy parameters. The electronic structure can, to a good approximation, be described as 'Weyl rings' and one of the two branches that contributes to the Weyl bands is essentially flat, leading to enhanced susceptibilities. The optical longitudinal and Hall conductivities are determined; the frequency dependence includes pronounced features that reveal the basic energy scales of the Weyl semimetal phase.

      • A Survey on Clustering based Meteorological Data Mining

        Wei Tian,Yuhui Zheng,Runzhi Yang,Sai Ji,Jin Wang 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.7 No.6

Data mining is an important tool in meteorological problems solved. Cluster analysis techniques in data mining play an important role in the study of meteorological applications. The research progress of the clustering algorithms in meteorology in recent years is summarized in this paper. First, we give a brief introduction of the principles and characteristics of the clustering algorithms that are commonly used in meteorology. On the other hand, the applications of clustering algorithms in meteorology are analyzed, and the relationship between the various clustering algorithms and meteorological applications are summarized. Then we interpret the relationship from the perspectives of algorithms’ characteristics and practical applications. Finally, some main research issues and directions of the clustering algorithms in meteorological applications are pointed out.

Knockdown of microtubule actin crosslinking factor 1 inhibits cell proliferation in MC3T3-E1 osteoblastic cells

        ( Lifang Hu ),( Peihong Su ),( Runzhi Li ),( Kun Yan ),( Zhihao Chen ),( Peng Shang ),( Airong Qian ) 생화학분자생물학회(구 한국생화학분자생물학회) 2015 BMB Reports Vol.48 No.10

Microtubule actin crosslinking factor 1 (MACF1), a widely expressed cytoskeletal linker, plays important roles in various cells by regulating cytoskeleton dynamics. However, its role in osteoblastic cells is not well understood. Based on our previous findings that the association of MACF1 with F-actin and microtubules in osteoblast-like cells was altered under magnetic force conditions, here, by adopting a stable MACF1- knockdown MC3T3-E1 osteoblastic cell line, we found that MACF1 knockdown induced large cells with a binuclear/multinuclear structure. Further, immunofluorescence staining showed disorganization of F-actin and microtubules in MACF1-knockdown cells. Cell counting revealed significant decrease of cell proliferation and cell cycle analysis showed an S phase cell cycle arrest in MACF1-knockdown cells. Moreover and interestingly, MACF1 knockdown showed a potential effect on cellular MTT reduction activity and mitochondrial content, suggesting an impact on cellular metabolic activity. These results together indicate an important role of MACF1 in regulating osteoblastic cell morphology and function. [BMB Reports 2015; 48(10): 583-588]

Flicker‑free single‑stage LED drivers based on load current feedback strategy

        Yuefei Zhou,Qiongya Lou,Xueru He,Runzhi Yuan 전력전자학회 2023 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.23 No.11

The traditional AC/DC light-emitting diode (LED) driver with high power factor causes LED flicker because of the imbalance between the fluctuating instantaneous AC input power and the DC output power. Large electrolytic capacitors are commonly connected in parallel as an energy storage element on the load side to absorb the output ripple and restrain LED flicker. However, the electrolytic capacitor’s short lifespan and high temperature instability reduce the reliability of LED drivers. To realize a new flicker-free LED driver with low cost and high reliability, a series second harmonic current compensation circuit (series SHCC) powered by double vice-side windings is adopted based on single-stage resonant LLC converter in this study, and a new control strategy based on load current feedback is proposed. The proposed load current feedback strategy (LCFS) is analyzed and optimized from the perspective of closed-loop output impedance to minimize the output current ripple and suppress LED flicker. The proposed LCFS is applicable to LED load, and the main-stage PFC based on LLC and the SHCC based on Buck can share the same current sampling circuit, which can evidently simplify the control circuit to achieve a low-cost design. Finally, a 240W experimental LED driver prototype with a wide input and output range is established. The experimental results demonstrate that under rated power, the output current fluctuation depth ( Mod_I(%) ) of the LED driver can be reduced to 3.93%, and the storage capacitance can be decreased by 89.7% under the same fluctuation depth.

Possible coexistence of Harmonia axyridis Pallas (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) and Diaeretiella rapae M'Intosh (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) in the biological control of Lipaphis erysimi (Homoptera: Aphididae)

        Pengxiang Wu,Muhammad Haseeb,Chang Liu,Shuo Yan,Jing Xu,Runzhi Zhang 한국응용곤충학회 2019 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.22 No.1

To study the interactions between the aphidophagous predator Harmonia axyridis Pallas (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) and the specialist aphid parasitoid Diaeretiella rapae M'Intosh (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) in the biological control of mustard aphid, Lipaphis erysimi (Homoptera: Aphididae), the prey discrimination by H. axyridis among unparasitized, non-mummified parasitized and mummified aphids was examined under laboratory conditions. Prey/host selections were also tested by offering L. erysimi at various developmental stages to assess the possibility of coexistence between the two species, so the prey preference of H. axyridis when D. rapae parasitize aphids, and the host preference of D. rapae when H. axyridis interfered with the parasitization were detected. We found that H. axyridis could discriminate against mummies rather than non-mummified parasitized aphids. The ladybug showed a significantly positive preference for adult prey when D. rapae turned aphids into mummies, while D. rapae tended to parasitize younger nymphal aphids when H. axyridis was introduced. The present study suggests the prey discrimination against mummies by H. axyridis, and indicates that H. axyridis and D. rapae can avoid resource competition by attacking different and non-overlapping developmental stages of aphid. Thus, H. axyridis and D. rapae can potentially coexist and establish a stable ecosystem in the biological control of L. erysimi.
