        Autotoxicity in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) seedlings is alleviated by silicon through an increase in the activity of antioxidant enzymes and by mitigating lipid peroxidation

        Autotoxicity in plants limits their growth and that of nearby plants of the same species, which has obvious implications in crop yield and quality. Silicon (Si) has been shown to increase plant tolerance to autotoxic stress. However, the physiological mechanisms underlying the effects of Si in alleviating autotoxicity during germination in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) are unknown. Cinnamic acid derivatives, such as 3-phenylpropionic acid (PA), are a class of autotoxins present in cucumber root exudates. Our objective was to investigate Si-induced autotoxic stress tolerance in cucumber seedlings by focusing on the effects of Si on the induction of antioxidant defense pathways. We found that PA treatment significantly reduced seed germination, radicle length, lateral root number, fresh weight, AsA and GSH contents, and the activities of SOD, CAT, and APX in cucumber seedlings, while it increased membrane permeability and levels of MDA, proline, O 2 - , and H2O2. Application of Si enhanced growth of PA-treated plants and significantly increased germination rate, radicle length, lateral root number, fresh weight, AsA and GSH levels, and SOD, CAT, POD, and APX activities. These results suggest that exogenous Si alleviates autotoxicity caused by PA during seed germination by increasing antioxidant enzyme activities and mitigating lipid peroxidation.

        In this paper, we explore the language model with topic sensitive features for the topic detection and tracking, formulate the relationship among the Chinese internet new words, language model with topic sensitive feature and the scheduling logic and the interval temporal reasoning and the key techniques. we use the Chinese internet new words to strengthen the detection and tracking of the topic and try to employ the scheduling logic and interval temporal reasoning to educe the reciprocal influences of events. At last we summarize the potential issues and the future work.

        Antibacterial and Antioxidant Composite Fiber Prepared from Polyurethane and Polyacrylonitrile Containing Tea Polyphenols

        Antibacterial and antioxidant properties exert an indispensable effect on biomedical and packaging materialswhich are mainly made of fiber-based fabrics. The current research illustrates a novel type of composite fiber which wasprepared from thermoplastic polyurethane (PU), polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and tea polyphenols (TP) through wet-spinningtechnology. The PU-PAN mass ratio was optimized upon the mechanical property; TP was incorporated into the compositefiber with different contents. The obtained fibers were fully characterized in terms of mechanical, thermal, morphologicalproperties as well as surface wettability. Additionally, in vitro TP release, antioxidant and antibacterial activity of suchcomposite fibers before and after washing were under investigation systematically and orderly. The findings showed that TPloadedcomposite fibers with an average diameter around 120 μm performed a sustained TP release behavior and desirablecytocompatibility. According to the capacity on scavenging 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radicals, theobservation of scavenging ratio reaching to 97 % proved the excellent antioxidant performance. Furthermore, the idealantibacterial activity against Gram-negative E. coli and Gram-positive S. aureus was also demonstrated. Collectively, thisstudy provides a facile strategy to design and prepare a novel type of composite fibers and fabrics, which may be put intoapplication as wound dressing and tissue conduit.

        A Dietary Nutrition survey of a Mountaineering Team at a Peak of 5,454m

        이이 연구의 목적은 단기간 고원 등산에 참석한 모험가들의 음식 섭취량 및 특성을 조사하고 등산가들에게 합리적이고 균형 잡힌 식단을 지도하기 위한 근거를 제시하기 위함이다. 20명의 단기 고원 등산가들이 섭취한 모든 음식은 4일간의 무게측정 방법과 24시간 식이 회상 방법으로 기록하였다. 단기간 고원 등산 참여자들의 에너지나 주요 영양소 중에 지방 및 나트륨을 제외한 나머지는 중국 주민의 영양 기준 섭취량을 미치지 못하였다. 남성은 섭취한 에너지의 소비량이 48.29%였으며 여성은 47.93%로 나타났다. 물 섭취량도 남성은 29.86%, 여성은 31.43%로 기준에 미치지 못하였다. 남성과 여성의 에너지 섭취비율은 불균형하였고, 지방 섭취의 비율이 낮았다(28.83%, 21.35%). 남성 등산가는 높은 고도 및 정상도달 전후에 체중, BMI, 허리둘레가 4회 측정값에 통계적으로 차이를 나타냈다. 여성 등산가는 높은 고도 및 정상도달 전후에 허리둘레가 4회 측정값에 통계적인 차이를 나타냈다. 단기간 고원 등산가들은 영양소 섭취가 부족하고 음식 구성이 불규칙하였다. 결과적으로 고원 둥산가들은 모든 식사의 섭취량을 전반적으로 증가시켜야 하고, 고지대에서 일어나는 생리적 변화의 특성에 따라 균형적인 식사를 할 수 있도록 개선해야 할 것이다. To investigate the conditions and characteristics of dietary nutrition for short-term high altitude mountaineering expedition members. A total of 20 volunteers participated with a 4 day’ food weighing method and a 24 hour dietary review method to continuously record their food intake. Except fat and sodium, no energy or nutrients consumed by the individuals while on the high altitude mountain were up to the standard of intake reference intake(DRIs) for the Chinese. The energy consumption rate of the men was 48.29%, and for women 47.93% the quantity of water consumed was also not up to the DRIs standard. The men consumed 29.86% of recommended amount, and the women 31.43% the proportions of energy intake for men and women were unbalanced, and the proportions of fat for men and women were higher than those of energy intake(46.05% and 48.39%, respectively), the proportions of carbohydrates were low(40.93% and 38.45%, respectively), the proportions of daily meals of men and women were irregular, the proportion of lunches was low(25.83% and 21.35%, respectively). The differences in four measured values of mens’ weight, BMI and waist conference of mountaineering members before and after reaching high altitude and the summit had statistical significance, as did the differences in four measured values of womens’ waist circumference. The nutrient intake for short-term, high altitude mountaineering individuals was insufficient and the dietary pattern was irregular. The amount of all food types should be increased among mountaineering individuals and targeted measures should be taken based on the principles of a balanced diet and physiological changes that occur at high altitude.

        Short‑circuit fault detection scheme for DC microgrids on offshore platforms

        DC microgrids present a very effective solution that enables the power systems of offshore platforms to achieve increased integration of renewable sources. Since the areas of offshore platforms are limited, the associated DC microgrids have lower line impedances, and short-circuit faults cause fault currents to rise rapidly. Thus, fault detection is a challenging issue due to the strict time limits for interruption imposed by these rapid rising fault currents. According to the fault characteristics and the ring structure of DC microgrids, this paper proposes a rapid detection scheme based on the differential current and current derivative without de-energizing the entire DC microgrid. It achieves rapid and selective fault detection and ensures an uninterruptible load power. The synchronization issues of the current differential and a rapid processing method for fault currents are investigated. The tripping threshold settings are discussed. Implementation of the fault detection scheme is also presented in detail. The proposed scheme is verified on a physical experimental platform. It is shown that here are some advantages such as good selectivity, low cost, and rapid fault detection. The scheme provides a strong guarantee for the uninterruptible operation of important equipment on offshore platforms.

        Reduction of Target Volume and the Corresponding Dose for the Tumor Regression Field after Induction Chemotherapy in Locoregionally Advanced Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

        Purpose This study aims to investigate the feasibility of contouring target volume according to residual tumor and decreasing the dose to the tumor regression field after induction chemotherapy (IC) in locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Materials and Methods From August 2009 to August 2013, patients with stage III–IVB NPC were treated with IC and concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Gross tumor volume of nasopharynx (GTVnx)–residual and gross tumor volume of cervical lymph node (GTVnd)–residual were contoured according to post-IC residual primary tumor and any N+ disease, respectively. The tumor regression field was included in CTVnx1/CTVnd1 and prescribed a dose of 60 Gy. Outcomes and toxicities of all patients were evaluated. Results A total of 57 patients were enrolled. At a median follow-up of 68 months, three cases displayed locoregional recurrence and one case showed both distant metastasis and locoregional recurrence. All locoregional recurrences were in the GTVnx-residual/GTVnd-residual and in-field. The 5-year overall, locoregional relapse-free, distant metastasis-free, and progression- free survival rates were 82.2%, 87.7%, 85.8% and 80.3%, respectively. Conclusion After IC, contouring of GTVnx-residual/GTVnd-residual as residual tumor volume and distribution 60 Gy of radiation dose to the tumor regression field may be feasible and need further investigation.
