The predominant part of the Indian population generally depends on a two-wheeler for transportation needs. However, very poor road conditions and poor vehicle designs have led to development of pains in the body. The percentage of such incidents involving musculoskeletal pains is alarmingly gaining impetus in the region. Hence, an attempt has been made to analyze and obtain ideal operating conditions of the vehicle for varying terrain amplitudes of 5, 10 and 15 mm, respectively. In this work, a coupled human body and twowheeler is modeled as a lumped parameter system. The composite model is analyzed by computer program (MAT lab) for vertical vibration responses of the different body parts to vertical vibrations inputs that are sinusoidal in nature and applied to wheels of the twowheeler. The numerical analysis is carried out for a Hero Honda splendor vehicle and an average male human body weighing around 80 kilograms. The analysis successfully concludes the torso as the part of the human body that experiences maximum displacement followed by head and thorax for all the terrain amplitudes involved in the study. The study also concludes that the ideal speed of the vehicle to be maintained for the body to experience minimum vibrations is 8 Hz i.e. 49.60 km/hr.
Producing Alkaline Lipase by Fusarium oxysporum Using Unconventional Medium Components
Cedenir Pereira de Quadros,Juliano Lemos Bicas,Iramaia Angelica Neri-Numa,Glaucia Maria Pastore 한국식품과학회 2009 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.18 No.6
This study reports the use of different inducing agents (olive, soybean, and used frying oils) and culture mediums [synthetic medium (SM), whey protein, and corn steep liqueur (SL)] to optimize the production of lipase by Fusarium oxysporum. A relationship among the inoculum size, presence of a fat source, fungal growth, and lipase production was evident during the fermentation. The best results were achieved when the inoculum was grown in SM or SL and the fermentation was developed in SM with frying oil as the inducing agent. The maximum activity (about 15 U/㎖) was obtained after a 72 hr cultivation.
Evaluation of user-guided semi-automatic decomposition tool for hexahedral mesh generation

Volumetric decomposition is essential for all-hexahedral mesh generation. Because fully automatic decomposition methods that can generate high-quality hexahedral meshes for arbitrary volumes have yet to be realized, manual decomposition is still required frequently. Manual decomposition is a laborious process and requires a high level of user expertise. Therefore, a user-guided semi-automatic tool to reduce the human effort and lower the requirement of expertise is necessary. To date, only a few of these approaches have been proposed, and a lack of user evaluation makes it difficult to improve upon this approach. Based on our previous work, we present a user evaluation of a user-guided semi-automatic tool that provides visual guidance to assist users in determining decomposition solutions, accepts sketchbased inputs to create decomposition surfaces, and simplifies the decomposition commands. This user evaluation investigated (1) the usability of the visual guidance, (2) the types of visual guidance essential for decomposition, (3) the effectiveness of the sketch-based decomposition, and (4) the performance differences between beginner and experienced users using the sketch-based decomposition. The result and user feedback indicate that the tool enables users who have limited prior experience or familiarity with the computer-aided engineering software to perform volumetric decomposition more efficiently. The visual guidance increases the success rate of the user’s decomposition solution by 28%. The sketchbased decomposition significantly reduces 46% of the user’s time on creating decomposition surfaces and setting up decomposition commands.
