Analysis of concrete-filled steel tubular columns with “T” shaped cross section (CFTTS)
Qin-Ting Wang,Xu Chang 국제구조공학회 2013 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.15 No.1
This paper presents a numerical study of axially loaded concrete-filled steel tubular columnswith “T” shaped cross section (CFTTS) based on the ABAQUS standard solver. Two types of columns with“T” shaped cross section, the common concrete-filled steel tubular columns with “T” shaped cross section(CCFTTS) and the double concrete-filled steel tubular columns with “T” shaped cross section (DCFTTS),are discussed. The failure modes, confining effects and load-displacement curves are analyzed. Thenumerical results indicate that both have the similar failure mode that the steel tubes are only outwardbuckling on all columns’ faces. It is found that DCFTTS columns have higher axial capacities than CCFTTSones duo to the steel tube of DCFTTS columns can plays more significant confining effect on concrete. Aparametric study, including influence of tube thickness, concrete strength and friction coefficient oftube-concrete interface on the axial capacities is also carried out. Simplified formulae were also proposedbased on this study.

Zhao, Hao,Yin, Jie-Yun,Yang, Wan-Shui,Qin, Qin,Li, Ting-Ting,Shi, Yun,Deng, Qin,Wei, Sheng,Liu, Li,Wang, Xin,Nie, Shao-Fa Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.12
To assess the risk of cancers associated with sleep duration using meta-analysis of published cohort studies, we performed a comprehensive search using PubMed, Embase and Web of Science through October 2013. We combined hazard ratios (HRs) from individual studies using meta-analysis approaches. A random effect dose-response analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between sleep duration and cancer risk. Subgroup analyses and sensitivity analyses were also performed. Publication bias was evaluated using Funnel plots and Begg's test. A total of 13 cohorts from 12 studies were included in this meta-analysis, which included 723, 337 participants with 15, 156 reported cancer outcomes during a follow-up period ranging from 7.5 to 22 years. The pooled adjusted HRs were 1.06 (95% CI: 0.92, 1.23; P for heterogeneity =0.003) for short sleep duration, 0.91 (95% CI: 0.78, 1.07; P for heterogeneity <0.0001) for long sleep duration. In subgroup analyses stratified by cancer type, long duration of sleep showed an inverse relation with hormone-related cancer (HR=0.79; 95% CI: 0.65, 0.97; P for heterogeneity =0.009) and a greater risk of colorectal cancer (HR=1.29; 95% CI: 1.09, 1.52; P for heterogeneity =0.346). Further meta-analysis on dose-response relationships showed that the relative risks of cancer were 1.00 (95% CI: 0.99, 1.01; P for linear trend=0.9151) for one hour of sleep increment per day, and 1.00 (95% CI: 0.98, 1.01; P for linear trend=0.7749) for one hour of sleep increment per night. No significant dose-response relationship between sleep duration and cancer was found on non-linearity testing (P=0.5053). Our meta-analysis suggests a positive association between long sleep duration and colorectal cancer, and an inverse association with incidence of hormone related cancers like those in the breast. Studies with larger sample size, longer follow-up times, more cancer types and detailed measure of sleep duration are warranted to confirm these results.

A special-shaped column composed of concrete-filled steel tubes (SCFST column) is experimentally investigated in this paper. The SCFST column is composed of several small-sized concrete-filled square tubular columns (mono-columns) connected by connection plates. This kind of column is proposed because it can increase the usable space in residential buildings. The axial loading behavior of L-shaped SCFST columns is experimentally investigated. The failure mode, strain distribution, cooperation of mono-columns, bearing capacity, and the effect of a concrete core on column behavior were tested. As concluded, the SCFST column can be regarded as a useful kind of column. A finite element analysis model was proposed according to the experimental results, and the influence of connection plate size on bearing capacity was studied using the finite element model. Finally, proposed were the optimal width and thickness of connection plates for improving the design of the SCFST column.

Cantharidin (CTD), a chemical compoundsecreted by blister beetles, has been shown with anti-tumorproperty in many cancer cells. In this study, our data showedthat CTD exerts potent anti-angiogenesis activity in a dosedependentmanner. CTD dose dependently suppressedhuman umbilical vascular endothelial cells proliferation, migration, and tube formation in vitro. Furthermore, CTDconcentration dependently inhibited angiogenesis in chickembryo CAM model in vivo. At the molecular level, CTDabrogated VEGF-induced activation of STAT3 and suppressedthe phosphorylation of JAK1 and ERK in a dosedependentmanner. Furthermore, CTD blocked the phosphorylationof AKT in a time-dependent manner. Takentogether, these findings clearly demonstrate for the first timethat CTD can inhibit angiogenesis and may have applicationsin the development of new anti-angiogenesis drugs.
On the interior and closure operators of fuzzifying neighborhood systems
Ting Hou,Longyu He,Ke Yun Qin 원광대학교 기초자연과학연구소 2022 ANNALS OF FUZZY MATHEMATICS AND INFORMATICS Vol.24 No.2
Neighborhood systems present a general model for the theory of granular computing. Consistent functions can be used to study the communication between neighborhood systems. In this paper, we propose the extended notions of system consistent (sys-consistent) functions and granule consistent (gra-consistent) functions for fuzzifying neighborhood systems. The definition of the transformation of a fuzzifying neighborhood system by a mapping is presented. Then, the structure preservation properties for interior and closure operators of fuzzifying neighborhood systems are investigated.

The objective of this study is to investigate theeffects of sea buckthorn oil (SBO) on proliferation, adipogenicdifferentiation and insulin sensitivity of 3T3-L1cells. Results showed that SBO increased cell proliferationability, accompanied by up-regulated proliferating cellnuclear antigen content (p\0.05) and p38 activity(p\0.05). SBO also promoted adipogenesis and enhancedadipogenic transcriptional factors expression. Mitochondrialbiogenesis related gene expressions were elevated inSBO treated cells (p\0.05). Of note, SBO also increasedglucose uptake and glucose transporter 4 abundance(p\0.05). Cells treated with SBO exhibited greaterphosphorylated insulin receptor substrate 1 (p\0.05),phosphorylated-Akt (p\0.05) and phosphorylated AMPactivatedprotein kinase (p\0.01) contents. When takentogether, these results suggest that SBO promotes 3T3-L1cells proliferation, adipogenesis and insulin sensitivity.
Predicting connection integrity with consideration of thermo stress
Yong Qin Cheng,Shuo Qiong Liu,Feng Zhong Qi,Hui Ting Liu 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.8
In the conventional gas seal analysis of special threaded joints, the influence of temperature stress caused by the difference between formation temperature and fluid temperature in casing is often neglected. However, the influence mechanism of temperature stress is prerequisite information for accurately predicting the safe operating conditions that prevent a premium connection from being damaged. In this paper, we propose a model that includes these effects to predict the safe operating pressures and temperatures that will prevent seal failure. For the temperature stress, we propose a finite element model of thermal solid coupling. Subsequent stress changes are evaluated by a fully coupled model of thermal solid coupling to analyze the mechanical behavior of the premium connection. We predict the safe operating envelope (SOE) for premium connection failures caused by pressure and temperature perturbations after make-up. Our model predicts that radial pressure is a key factor for connection failure, especially for rapid temperature changes. If the formation temperature is high and the casing fluid temperature is low, the influence of temperature stress will increase under this working condition, resulting in an increase in the probability of failure of premium connections. Compared with conventional premium connection models, the model of thermal solid coupling predicts a smaller SOE when heating the internal casing fluid and a larger envelope when cooling the internal casing fluid. Finally, the heating rate was considered with respect to field applications. The heating rate was also considered, and slower heating/cooling rates can prevent damage to the seal integrity. Finally, the model was applied to explain several laboratory and field experiments and achieved good matches.
