Proposed Open Source Model for Video Offline Distribution using Cinema DRM for Home Users

Pardeshi, Sunil,Kwon, Soon Chul,Lee, Seung Hyun,Hamacher, Alaric The Institute of Internet 2015 International Journal of Internet, Broadcasting an Vol.7 No.1

Video Content owners seek to squeeze the maximum amount of revenue from their assets via distribution into more territories. Digital Cinema Package(DCP), trusted solution to distribute protected content to theaters, caters to relatively small user base, which limits revenue. With the growth of the Internet & other digital media, the economics of media content has changed dramatically. Security remains main concern to deliver content to millions of consumers using intelligent digital display devices like Tablets, Smartphones, Smart TVs, Desktop & Laptop. By making the video content available to this segment securely, content owners will benefit from increased revenue. Through this paper we propose Open Source HomeDCP model to distribute the content to home users for offline viewing. We propose to include other open source CODEC than JPEG2000/MPEG2, which are specifically designed for theatrical performance. Final image size will be further reduced considering the display device resolution where video will be finally played. Key Delivery Message(KDM) system to be altered to suit new devices. This will be a big boost to Content Economy as content owners would be able to distribute the content securely to the wider audience & ensure more revenue.

Expression profiling of cultured podocytes exposed to nephrotic plasma reveals intrinsic molecular signatures of nephrotic syndrome

Panigrahi, Stuti,Pardeshi, Varsha Chhotusing,Chandrasekaran, Karthikeyan,Neelakandan, Karthik,PS, Hari,Vasudevan, Anil The Korean Pediatric Society 2021 Clinical and Experimental Pediatrics (CEP) Vol.64 No.7

Background: Nephrotic syndrome (NS) is a common renal disorder in children attributed to podocyte injury. However, children with the same diagnosis have markedly variable treatment responses, clinical courses, and outcomes, suggesting molecular heterogeneity. Purpose: This study aimed to explore the molecular responses of podocytes to nephrotic plasma to identify specific genes and signaling pathways differentiating various clinical NS groups as well as biological processes that drive injury in normal podocytes. Methods: Transcriptome profiles from immortalized human podocyte cell line exposed to the plasma of 8 subjects (steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome [SSNS], n=4; steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome [SRNS], n=2; and healthy adult individuals [control], n=2) were generated using microarray analysis. Results: Unsupervised hierarchical clustering of global gene expression data was broadly correlated with the clinical classification of NS. Differential gene expression (DGE) analysis of diseased groups (SSNS or SRNS) versus healthy controls identified 105 genes (58 up-regulated, 47 down-regulated) in SSNS and 139 genes (78 up-regulated, 61 down-regulated) in SRNS with 55 common to SSNS and SRNS, while the rest were unique (50 in SSNS, 84 genes in SRNS). Pathway analysis of the significant (P≤0.05, -1≤ log2 FC ≥1) differentially expressed genes identified the transforming growth factor-β and Janus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription pathways to be involved in both SSNS and SRNS. DGE analysis of SSNS versus SRNS identified 2,350 genes with values of P≤0.05, and a heatmap of corresponding expression values of these genes in each subject showed clear differences in SSNS and SRNS. Conclusion: Our study observations indicate that, although podocyte injury follows similar pathways in different clinical subgroups, the pathways are modulated differently as evidenced by the heatmap. Such transcriptome profiling with a larger cohort can stratify patients into intrinsic subtypes and provide insight into the molecular mechanisms of podocyte injury.

Comparative analysis of lineaments extracted from Cartosat, SRTM and ASTER DEM: a study based on four watersheds in Konkan region, India

        Sumit Das,Sudhakar D. Pardeshi 대한공간정보학회 2018 Spatial Information Research Vol.26 No.1

In this study, lineaments have been extracted from Cartosat, Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) and Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM) Digital Elevation Models (DEM) of different spatial resolution. The extracted lineaments were analysed to understand which DEM is most suitable for extraction of lineaments accurately. The results have shown that maximum number of lineaments can be extracted by using Cartosat DEM while ASTER DEM provides lowest number of lineaments. As a result of this study, it is suggested to make use of Cartosat DEM for the extraction of lineaments in Indian territory (data is only available for India), because it provides the most detailed geological information among all the datasets. Cartosat DEM is also suitable for studying very small areas as detailed surface information can be extracted by using this data. SRTM DEM can be used for countries other than India, and it has the capability to deliver moderate structural information. Likewise, SRTM data is more suitable for a large study area. ASTER DEM is not recommended for the study of structural and geological surface features because most of the features cannot be extracted and the result could not be applied in the detailed geological study.

Effect of Barrier Thickness on Linearity of Underlap AlInN/GaN DG-MOSHEMTs

        Sarosij Adak,Sanjit Kumar Swain,Hemant Pardeshi,Ha¯zur Rahaman,Chandan Kumar Sarkar 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2017 NANO Vol.12 No.1

In this proposed work, an extensive study on the linearity performance of underlap AlInN/GaN double gate metal oxide semiconductor high electron mobility transistors (MOS-HEMT) has been analyzed using 2D Sentaurus TCAD simulation. Specifically a brief comparison is made on the linearity and intermodulation distortion characteristics of the proposed device due to variation of barrierlayer thickness from 2 nm to 6 nm. Various parameters such as transconductance (gm), second-order transconductance (gm2), third-order transconductance (gm3), second-order voltage intercept point (VIP2), third-order voltage intercept point (VIP3), third-order input intercept point (IIP3) and third-order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) of underlap AlInN/GaN double gate metal oxide semiconductor high electron mobility transistors (MOS-HEMT) are discussed. The simulated results obtained confirms that by careful optimization of barrier layer thickness linearity characteristics of this proposed device can be improved, which can be suitable for analog and circuit applications.

Application of Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality to Urology

        Alaric Hamacher,김수진,조성태,Sunil Pardeshi,이승현,은성종,황보택근 대한배뇨장애요실금학회 2016 International Neurourology Journal Vol.20 No.3

Recent developments in virtual, augmented, and mixed reality have introduced a considerable number of new devices into the consumer market. This momentum is also affecting the medical and health care sector. Although many of the theoretical and practical foundations of virtual reality (VR) were already researched and experienced in the 1980s, the vastly improved features of displays, sensors, interactivity, and computing power currently available in devices offer a new field of applications to the medical sector and also to urology in particular. The purpose of this review article is to review the extent to which VR technology has already influenced certain aspects of medicine, the applications that are currently in use in urology, and the future development trends that could be expected.
