Modified decomposition method for solving initial and boundary value problems using Pade approximants

        M. Aslam Noor,Khalida Inayat Noor,Syed Tauseef Mohyud-Din,Noor Ahmed Shaikh 한국전산응용수학회 2009 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.27 No.5

In this paper, we apply a new decomposition method for solving initial and boundary value problems, which is due to Noor and Noor [18]. The analytical results are calculated in terms of convergent series with easily computable components. The diagonal Pade approximants are applied to make the work more concise and for the better understanding of the solution behavior. The proposed technique is tested on boundary layer problem; Thomas-Fermi, Blasius and sixth-order singularly perturbed Boussinesq equations. Numerical results reveal the complete reliability of the suggested scheme. This new decomposition method can be viewed as an alternative of Adomian decomposition method and homotopy perturbation methods. Occupational Therapy Intervention for Malunion of Distal Radial Fracture: A Case Report

        Noor Mohammad(Noor Mohammad ),Nahid Khan(Nahid Khan ) 셀메드 세포교정의약학회 2023 셀메드 (CellMed) Vol.13 No.6

Objective: Malunion of distal radial fracture can result in pain, stiffness, and decreased function of the affected limb. Occupational therapy intervention can improve outcomes in these patients, but there is limited research on the effectiveness of such interventions. Case Description: This case report describes the occupational therapy intervention and outcomes for a 44-year-old female patient with malunion of left distal radial fracture. The patient received 8 weeks of occupational therapy intervention consisting of therapeutic exercises, joint mobilization, and fine motor activities. The patient demonstrated significant improvements in range of motion, grip strength, and activities of daily living (ADL) in her left hand. The patient also reported less pain and greater ease in performing activities of daily living. Conclusion: Occupational therapy intervention can be effective in improving outcomes for patients with malunion of distal radial fracture. This case report highlights the importance of early intervention and interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Further research is needed to explore the effectiveness of occupational therapy interventions for patients with malunion of distal radial fracture.

Efficiency of Various Nutritional Sources to Improve Physical Properties of Saline-Sodic Soil

        Noor-Us-Sabah, Noor-Us-Sabah,Sarwar, Ghulam,Ibrahim, Muhammad,Tahir, Mukkram Ali,Iftikhar, Yasir,Haider, Muhammad Sajjad,Han, Kyung-Hwa,Ha, Sang-Keun,Zhang, Yong-Seon Korean Society of Soil Science and Fertilizer 2012 한국토양비료학회지 Vol.45 No.1

This study was conducted to evaluate the efficiency of various inorganic and organic materials to improve physical properties of soil. Saline sodic soil (saturation percentage = 40.36%, $EC_e=5.15dS\;m^{-1}$, $pH_s=8.70$, $SAR=18.84(m\;mol\;L^{-1})^{1/2}$, bulk density =$1.49Mg\;m^{-3}$) was collected, brought to wire house and filled in pots after laboratory analysis for various parameters. Different sources of organic nutrients like farm manure (FM), press mud, compost, poultry manure and sesbania green manure were analyzed for their chemical composition. The experiment comprised of 12 treatments replicated thrice; $T_1$: control (recommended NPK), $T_2:{\frac{1}{2}}$ recommended NPK, $T_3$: FM at 1.5% by soil weight, $T_4$: pressmud at 1.5% by soil weight, $T_5$: compost at 1.5% by soil weight, $T_6$: poultry manure at 1.5% by soil weight, $T_7$: sesbania green manure at 1.5% by soil weight, $T_8:T_2$ + FM at 0.75% by soil weight, $T_9:T_2$ + pressmud at 0.75% by soil weight, $T_{10}:T_2$ + compost at 0.75% by soil weight, $T_{11}:T_2$ + poultry manure at 0.75% by soil weight, $T_{12}:T_2$ + sesbania green manure at 0.75% by soil weight. These treatments were applied using completely randomized (CR) design and appropriate time was given to decompose these organic nutritional sources. Seeds of wheat cultivar Sahar-2006 were sown. After harvesting the wheat, soil samples were collected from each pot and analyzed for various physical properties like bulk density, porosity and saturation percentage. An improvement in physical properties (bulk density, porosity and saturation percentage) of soil was noticed with the application of various organic nutritional sources but role of compost alone ($T_5$) remained prominent.

In vitro micropropagation of two local taro cultivars for large-scale cultivation

Noor Camellia Noor Alam,Abdul Muhaimin Abdul Kadir 한국식물생명공학회 2022 JOURNAL OF PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY Vol.49 No.2

The application of traditional taro propagation methods for large-scale cultivation would be insufficient to meet the high demand for quality planting materials. Therefore, this study aimed to develop an in vitro micropropagation technique for two local taro cultivars (cv.), Wangi and Putih. Taro cormels were collected from the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) germplasm (Serdang, Malaysia). Explants were taken from the shoot tip of cormels and initially cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal media for four weeks. The explants were then transferred to different multiplication media supplemented with different types and concentrations of cytokinins such as 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP ) and Thidiazuron (TDZ). Shoot production was quantified after six weeks of culture. The highest mean number of new shoots was produced by the Wangi cultivar on MS medium supplemented with 2.0 mg/l BAP (2.10 shoots), MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/l TDZ (2.18 shoots), and Gamborg B5 medium supplemented with 6.0 mg/l BAP (2.43 shoots). The maximum average number of the Putih cultivar shoots was obtained on MS supplemented with 2.0 mg/l BAP (3.57 shoots). MS basal media was used for root initiation, as it produced an average of 25 roots with an 11-cm length. Various types of substrate mixtures were used during acclimatization. The best acclimatization substrate for the Wangi cultivar was 100% peat soil, whereas the Putih cultivar grew optimally in a combination of peat and perlites at a 1:1 ratio. Taro plantlets require approximately 4 to 6 weeks to acclimatize before they can be transferred to the field.

Supremacy of Value-Added Tax: A Perspective from South Asian Nations

Md Noor Uddin MILON(Md Noor Uddin MILON ),Yousuf KAMAL(Yousuf KAMAL ),Tahmina Akter POLI(Tahmina Akter POLI ) 한국유통과학회 2023 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.10 No.2

The study attempts to examine the relationship among revenue growth factors from different angles and provides a comprehensive overview of tax revenue collection for developing countries. The impact of income tax, customs duty, and value-added tax on the gross domestic product is examined using the ordinary least-square (OLS) multiple regression approach. To confirm the association, a multiple regression model is applied to time-series data. SPSS software, MS Excel, is used to draw the empirical results, trend analysis, and some graphical presentation to reach the study’s objective. The findings show that while the value-added tax has a significant impact and the highest coefficient, regardless of country, income tax and customs duty may or may not be significant depending on the circumstances. It triggers effectual and efficacious economic growth. The paper has implications in policy-making areas where governments are seeking how to stimulate revenue growth effectively and efficiently. To promote economic growth, the tax net and tax rate on luxury goods should be increased along with human resources in the tax administration for the short term. But in the long term, decentralization & digitization of tax administration, dismantling the existing tax barriers and good governance are necessary.

Somatic Embryogenesis of Coffea liberica New Clone in Malaysia

Alam Noor Camellia Noor,Abdullah Nora’ini,Awang Mohd Rani 한국식물생명공학회 2025 JOURNAL OF PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY Vol.52 No.1

There has been a recent increase in the need for planting materials for Coffea liberica. In this study, we induced somatic embryogenesis of C. liberica leaf explants on modified Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), thidiazuron (TDZ), and 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP). The explants developed embryogenic calluses after 6 weeks of culture in MS medium supplemented with 0 mg/L BAP, 1 mg/L BAP, and 1 mg/L BAP + 1 mg/L TDZ. However, the explants cultured on MS medium supplemented with 1 mg/L BAP + 0.5 mg/L 2,4-D and 1 mg/L TDZ + 0.5 mg/L 2,4-D demonstrated no callus formation and browning of the leaf disc. Moreover, after 26 weeks of culturing, most cultures across all treatments were compromised due to browning except those cultured in MS medium supplemented with 1 mg/L BAP. Of these, 25% of MKL 10 (previously known as 224) clones survived, while only 10% of the clones differentiated into somatic embryos after 40 weeks of culture. Cotyledonary embryos were transformed into fully developed plants after 60 weeks of culturing. These results indicate that somatic embryogenesis of C. liberica leaf explants occur exclusively on MS medium supplemented with 1 mg/L BAP. Additionally, our results suggest that MS media supplemented with 1 mg/L BAP and 1 mg/L BAP + 1 mg/L TDZ were optimal for the induction of MKL 8 and 10 somatic embryogenesis, respectively. Both MKL 8 and 10 clones produce somatic embryos through the indirect embryogenesis pathway, except for MKL 10, which generates somatic embryos through both direct and indirect paths.
