Development of a Machine Vision System for Automotive Part-Car Seat Frame Inspection
Nelson S. Andres(Nelson S. Andres),장봉춘(Jang Bong-Choon) 한국자동차공학회 2005 한국자동차공학회 지부 학술대회 논문집 Vol.- No.-
Meeting the growing demand deadlines, reducing the production cost and upgrading the quality control measurements are the reasons why the automotive part manufacturers are venturing into automation. Attaining these objectives is impossible with human inspection for many reasons. Accordingly, the introduction of machine vision system purposely for car seat frame inspection is presented in this study as an alternative for human inspection. This proposal is designed to meet the demands, features and specifications of car seat frame manufacturing companies in striving for increased throughput of better quality. More specifically, this computer-based inspection proposal is designed to perform quality measures to detect holes, nuts and welding spots on every car seat fiame in real time and ensuring these portions to be intact, precise and in proper place. In this study, the NI Vision Builder software for Automatic Inspection is used as a solution in configuring the aimed quality measurements. These quality measurement techniques for visual inspection are optimized through qualitative analysis and simulation of human tolerance on inspecting car seat frames. Furthermore, this study exemplifies the incorporation of the optimized vision inspection environment to the pre-inspection and post-inspection phases using LabVIEW software.

Objectives: The purpose of this paper is to describe the role for public education in mental health promotion, prevention of mental illness and treatment of mental disorders in Canada. Results: A brief history of the changing nature of the way we treat mental disorders in Canada argues for an increasingly critical role for public education. Furthermore, the new understanding of the role of social determinants in prevention of mental illness again necessitates a vital role for public education as the shift in focus moves from exclusively individual-focused health care treatments to creating supportive environments. The roles for mental health public education then become: advocacy for the social determinants of health approach, better understanding of the nature of mental health problems, useful information for self-management, and more knowledge about appropriate treatments. A brief discussion of the structure of the response in Canada provides an overview of national and provincial responsibilities in mental health care with a case study highlighting one community's response to addressing mental disorders. Conclusion : Finally, challenges regarding the most effective educators and the issue of professional expertise embedded in the status quo are discussed.

The Modern Non-Western Mission Movement

The cover story in Time entitled "The New Missionary", stated that Protestant churches in the Third World now send out 15,000 missionaries of their own, including some to Europe and the U.S Though this may have come as a complete surprise to many readers, the Third World Mission movement actually began many yera ago as illustrated by the Melanesian Brotherhood in Oceania.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of body condition score (BCS) at calving on the metabolic status of female Murrah buffaloes in the transition period. Methods: Thirty-seven pregnant buffaloes (multiparous) were selected and monitored during the transition period based on their body condition score and on the estimated calving date. Two groups were formed: i) buffaloes with a BCS>3.5 (n = 17); this group was classified and named ‘high BCS at calving’ (HBCS); and ii) buffaloes with a BCS≤3.5 (n = 20); this group was classified and named ‘low BCS at calving’ (LBCS). All animals were monitored during the last 30 days of pregnancy and the first 70 days post-calving and kept in the same environment and under the same feeding and management conditions. Mean values for BCS at calving were 2.98±0.9 (mean±standard error of the mean [SEM]) and 4.21±0.9 (mean±SEM) for the HBCS and LBCS groups, respectively. Results: The HBCS group showed higher milk fat content (p = 0.007) and milk fat yield (p = 0.027) and a higher concentration of milk urea nitrogen (p = 0.001) than LBCS buffaloes, which in turn had a lower urine pH value (p = 0.033) than HBCS buffaloes in the pre-calving period (7.86 for HBCS vs 7.76 for LBCS). The HBCS animals had a higher concentration of erythrocytes (p = 0.001) and hematocrit (p = 0.012) post-calving and a higher hemoglobin concentration (p = 0.004) pre-calving. Conclusion: Buffaloes during the transition period exhibited some variations in the oxidative stress related to their metabolic status. After calving, buffaloes with a high BCS at calving and greater lipid mobilization have a more marked alteration in oxidative status, but improved production performance.
