Understanding the behavior of transgenes introduced into oocyte or embryos is essential for evaluating the methodologies for transgenic animal production. To date, many studies have reported the production of transgenic pig embryos with, however, low efficiency in environment of blastocyst production. The aim of present study was to determine the expression and duration of transgene transferred by intracytoplasmic sperm injection-mediated gene transfer (ICSI-MGT). Embryos obtained from the ICSI-MGT procedure were analysed for the expression of GFP and then for the transmission of the transgene. Briefly, fresh spermatozoa were bound to exogenous DNA after treatment by Triton X-100 and Lipofectin. When ICSI-MGT was performed using sperm heads with tails removed, the yield of blastocyst (25.3%), treated with Lipofectin (18.8%) and Triton X-100 (19.2%) were observed. Treatments of Lipofectin or Triton X-100 did not further improve the rates of blastocysts. Moreover, the apoptosis rates of embryos were obtained from the control and LIpofectin groups (8.7%, 9.7%, respectively), but were significantly higher in the Triton X-100 group (13.0%). Our results demonstrated that ICSI-MGT caused minimal damage to oocytes that could develop to full term. Moreover, the embryos derived by ICSI-MGT have shown prolonged exogenous DNA expression during preimplantation stage in vivo. However, more efforts will be required to improve the procedures of both sperm treatments cause of high frequency of mosaicisms.
University Social Responsibility and Educational Performance: Evidence from South Korea

본 논문은 대학의 사회적 책임성과 교육적 성과 간의 관계에 대해 고찰한다. 지난 수십년 간, 대학들은 사회적 조직으로서 환경 변화에 적극적으로 대처하기 위해, 형평성과 다양성을 제고하기 위한 각종 차별 철폐 프로그램들을 도입해왔다. 여기에는 정부의 변화된 교육 정책이 대학들에게 연구, 교육, 행정 등의 전통적인 역할에서 벗어나 차별 철폐 프로그램과 같은 사회적 의무를 다하도록 규범적 압력을 가한 것이 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 이에 더하여, 본 논문은 한국 대학 패널 데이터(2008-2015)에 대한 추정일반화최소제곱(FGLS: feasible generalized least squares) 회귀 분석을 통해 대학의 사회적 책임성이 대학의 교육적 성과에도 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 경향이 점차 증가하고 있음을 발견하였다. 이러한 결과는 대학의 사회적 책임성 증대 현상을 바라보는 새로운 시각을 제공하는 데서 더 나아가 향후 대학 교육 정책의 거시적인 방향성을 제시하는 데 도움이 될 것이다. In this article, we examine the relationship between university social responsibility (USR) and educational performance. For decades, universities as social organizations actively respond to environmental changes and adopt affirmative action programs that embody equality and diversity. In fact, a series of education policy reform has normatively shaped the relationships between states and universities that progressively incorporate social responsibility (i.e., affirmative action) in addition to research, teaching, and management. Moreover, we argue that USR has an increasingly positive influence on the educational performance of universities, by employing FGLS (feasible generalized least squares) regression on panel data for Korean universities (2008-2015). The findings suggest why universities and policymakers should further expand USR.

<P>Hollow microporous organic networks (<B>H-MON</B>s) were prepared by a template method using silica spheres. The shell thickness was delicately controlled by changing the synthetic conditions. 중국어교육을 위한 현대중국어 부사 `환(還)`의 의미와 용법 연구 - 중국어교재의 예문 분석을 중심으로 -

현대중국어 부사 `還(ha?i)`는 다양한 의미와 복잡한 용법으로 한국인 학습자들에게는 학습 난이도가 매우 높은 다의어 중 하나이다. `還(ha?i)`의 의미 기능은 지속, 중복, 첨가, 정도, 어기를 나타내는 것 등으로 귀납할 수 있으며, 이들은 인지적으로 서로 연관되어 있다. 현행 초급 중국어교재들을 분석한 결과 교재에서는 `還(ha?i)`가 `첨가`와 `지속`의 용례로 사용된 경우가 가장 많으며, 실제 언어사용에서 빈번하게 사용되는 어기와 관련된 용례는 대단히 적은 것으로 나타났다.

<P><B>Kleine Poren</B>: Benzodifuran‐Einheiten wurden mithilfe eines Tandemprozesses, bestehend aus einer Sonogashira‐Kupplung von 1,3,5‐Triethinylbenzol und 2,5‐Diiod‐1,4‐hydrochinon und einer intramolekularen Cyclisierung, in mikroporöse organische Netzwerke (MONs) eingeführt. Das resultierende Benzodifuran‐haltige MON zeigte vielversprechende photokatalytische Aktivität in der oxidativen Umsetzung primärer Amine zu Iminen.</P>

<P><B>Röhren aus Röhren</B>: Mikroporöse organische Nanoröhren wurden durch Sonogashira‐Kupplung zwischen Tetra(4‐ethinylphenyl)methan und <I>N</I>,<I>N</I>′‐Di(4‐iodphenyl)‐4,4′‐bipyridiniumdichlorid erhalten. Diese Nanoröhren dienten als Template für sekundäre anorganische Materialien, nämlich Fe<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>‐Nanoröhren mit hoher Entladekapazität und ausgezeichneter Stabilität.</P>
Congenital Internal Hernia Presented with Life Threatening Extensive Small Bowel Strangulation

Internal hernia (IH) is a rare cause of small bowel obstruction occurs when there is protrusion of an internal organ into a retroperitoneal fossa or a foramen in the abdominal cavity. IH can be presented with acute or chronic abdominal symptom and discovered by accident in operation field. However, various kinds of imaging modalities often do not provide the assistance to diagnose IH preoperatively, but computed tomography (CT) scan has a high diagnostic accuracy. We report a case of congenital IH in a 6-year-old boy who experienced life threatening shock. CT scan showed large amount of ascites, bowel wall thickening with poor or absent enhancement of the strangulated bowel segment. Surgical exploration was performed immediately and had to undergo over two meters excision of strangulated small bowel. To prevent the delay in the diagnosis of IH, we should early use of the CT scan and take urgent operation.
전처리에 따른 귀리 페이스트의 이화학적 특성 및 항산화 활성 변화

본 연구는 귀리 원료곡을 전처리 후 제조된 페이스트의 이화학적 특성, 기능성 성분, 항산화 활성에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 귀리 원료곡에 증숙(1.5 h 호화), 볶음(200℃, 30 min), 발아(10℃, 24 h) 처리 후 페이스트를 제조하여 볶음 귀리 페이스트(ROP), 증숙 귀리 페이스트(SOP), 발아 귀리 페이스트(GOP)를 제조하였으며, 처리하지 않은 원료곡으로 제조한 페이스트(COP)를 대조군으로 사용하였다. 총 고형분 함량은 58.4% (SOP)-61.0% (GOP)였으며, 점도는 전처리군 페이스트에서 모두 COP (16,240cP) 대비 감소하였으며, 특히 SOP의 점도는 1,640 cP로 가장 크게 감소하였다. 유리당 함량은 전처리 간 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 쌀귀리 원곡의 유리당 함량(2.55%) 보다 약 9.2배 증가하였고, 95% 이상이 glucose (22.58-22.98 g/100 g paste)였다. 총 Avn 함량은 ROP가 83.6 μg/g dw으로 가장 많았고, COP 대비 1.7배 증가하였다. 전처리된 페이스트는 COP 대비 항산화 활성(DPPH와 ABTS radical 소거활성), 총 페놀함량, 총 플라보노이드 함량이 증가하였다. 특히 DPPH radical 소거활성에서 ROP는 38.27mg TEAC/100 g로 COP에 비해 2배 이상의 높은 항산화 활성을 나타내었으며, 총 플라보노이드 함량도 ROP가 7.26 mg CE/100g로 가장 많았다. 페이스트의 항산화 성분과 활성이 귀리 분말대비 증가비율을 분석하였을 때 ROP에서 항산화 활성 증가비율이 가장 높고, 기능성 성분인 Avn 함량이 유지되는 것으로 나타나 식품 소재로서 활용성이 높을 것으로 기대된다. The purpose of this study was to investigate physicochemical properties and antioxidant activity of pastes prepared from oat grains pretreated by various methods. Oat pastes designated as ROP, SOP, GOP and COP were made from roasted, steamed, and germinated oat grains as well as untreated grains as the control. The total solid contents of pastes ranged from 58.4% of SOP to 61.0% of GOP. Viscosities of ROP, SOP and GOP were lower than that of COP, but free sugar content of those was 9.2 times higher than that of COP. Avenanthramide content of ROP (83.6 μg/g) was highest and 1.7 times greater than COP. The pastes of pretreated grains showed an increase in antioxidant activities and functional components as compared to COP. Since ROP had the highest rate of increase in antioxidant activities and its avenanthramide contents remained high, ROP was expected to be highly applicable as food materials.
