        Heme oxygenase-1 induced by desoxo-narchinol-A attenuated the severity of acute pancreatitis via blockade of neutrophil infiltration

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) has an anti-inflammatory action in acute pancreatitis (AP). However, its mechanism of action and natural compounds/drugs to induce HO-1 in pancreas are not well understood. In this study, we investigated the regulatory mechanisms of HO-1 during AP using desoxo-narchinol-A (DN), the natural compound inducing HO-1 in the pancreas. Female C57/BL6 Mice were intraperitoneally injected with supramaximal concentrations of cerulein (50 μg/kg) hourly for 6 h to induce AP. DMSO or DN was administered intraperitoneally, then mice were sacrificed 6 h after the final cerulein injection. Administration of DN increased pancreatic HO-1 expression through activation of activating protein-1, mediated by mitogen-activated protein kinases. Furthermore, DN treatment reduced the pancreatic weight-to-body weight ratio as well as production of digestive enzymes and pro-inflammatory cytokines. Inhibition of HO-1 by tin protoporphyrin IX abolished the protective effects of DN on pancreatic damage. Additionally, DN treatment inhibited neutrophil infiltration into the pancreas via regulation of chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 2 (CXCL2) by HO-1.         玉垂 趙冕鎬의 <西事雜絶> 前後篇에 대하여 : 丙寅·辛未洋擾의 詩的 形象化

        Cho, Myun-Ho(趙冕鎬, 1804-1887), now almost forgotten, was one of the most famous poets of nineteenth century. He wrote over-five thousand Chinese poems, and work is now gather under the title of Collection of Oksu(玉垂集). This study Is the first work on Cho, Myun-Ho. It begins with the introduction of life of Cho, Myun-Ho and draws the outline of his world of poetry. Then on the foundation of the preparatory work it focuses and examines two masterpieces, Seosa-Chapjol(西事雜絶) and its sequel Hu-Seosa-Chapjol(後西事雜絶). Seosa-Chapjol deals with the "Foreign Disturbance of 1866(丙寅洋援)", the war between Korea and French ignited by Korea's suppression and execution of the French missionaries. This work has a characteristic of the 'linked-up form' composed of forty-seven parts, that is, each part consisted of four-line stanza and each stanza of seven characters. The poet shows very vivid depiction of the battle, as seen and heard by his own eye and ears. In this work, on the one hand, he expresses his strong hostility to the Western invaders and the Catholic, and on the other, severely criticizes the inert response of the government. Hu-Seosa-Chapjoi focuses on the "Foreign Disturbance of 1871(辛未洋握)", the war between Korea and America caused by the destruction of the General Sherman-an American merchant ship. This work has also all the same formal and structural characteristic of Seosa-Chapjol. In this work, the poet depicts the battle from various aspects and congratulates his countrymen for finally driving back the invaders. Seosa-Chapjol and Hu-Seosa-Chapjol are very rare works of art, dealing with the two clashes with the Western powers under the Taewongun government. Moreover, these works succeed in giving a live description of 'the historic accidents in a full scale in 'linked-up form.' Thus two poems could be described as one of the most outstanding 'historical poetry(詩史)' of nineteenth century Korea. And it could be said that through these poems Cho, Myun-Ho proved himself to be a poet of great abilities.

        『燕巖集』 번역에 대하여

        연암 박지원의 문집으로 가장 널리 보급된 것은 1932년 박영철이 편찬한 활자본 『연암집』이다. 여기에는 『열하일기』와 『과농소초』를 제외하고, 연암의 한시 42수와 산문 237편이 수록되어 있다. 이러한 연암의 시문들에 대해 지금까지 이루어진 번역 성과들을 살펴보면, 전체 작품의 극히 일부만 대상으로 했을 뿐더러 텍스트 자체에 대한 서지적 검토를 소홀히 하고 작품의 이해와 감상에 필요한 주해를 충실히 베풀지 않은 한계를 지니고 있었다. 이와 같은 종래의 한계를 극복하려면 연암의 시문 전부를 완역할 뿐만 아니라, 역자 자신을 포함한 학계의 연암 연구 성과를 번역에 충분히 반영한 ‘전문적 학술번역’을 추구해야 할 것이다. 필자는 우전 신호열 선생이 생전에 구술하신 『연암집』 번역 원고를 가다듬고 여기에 원문 교감과 주해 작업을 하여, 연암의 전 시문에 대한 번역을 최근 완성하였다. 이러한 번역 작업을 하면서 필자는 전문적 학술번역을 성취하기 위해, 우선 『연암집』의 이본들을 널리 수집하고 검토하여 신뢰할 수 있는 교감본을 마련하고자 했다. 그리고 이와 아울러, 어귀 풀이에 그치지 않고, 창작 시기나 창작 배경, 난해하거나 심오한 의미를 지닌 대목들에 대한 해명 등 작품 감상에 긴요한 내용까지 충실히 주해하고자 했다. 본 논문에서는 『연암집』 원문 교감을 위해 참고한 많은 문헌들을 소개하고, 주해에서 특별히 힘쓴 점과 그에 해당하는 인상적인 사례들을 소개하였다. As a collection of Yeon-am, Park, Ji-won(1735~1805), 『Yeon-am-jip』, a printed book which was compiled by Park, Young-cheol in 1932, is most wide-spread. This book contains Yeon-am's 42 poems and 237 proses except 『Yeol-ha-il-gi』 and 『Gwa-nong-so-cho』. When I examine another translations of Yeon-am's literary works, including 『A selection of Park, Ji-won's works』(1960) by Hong, Gi-moon, I think they have some problems. They translated only a part of Yeon-am's works, not the whole. Besides they neglected bibliographical examination of the text and have no enough comments to understand and appreciate Yeon-am's works. In order to solve these problems, we have to make a complete translation of Yeon-am's works, and pursue a 'professional academic translation' showing the fruit of academic study on Yeon-am. I have finished a complete translation of Yeon-am's poems and proses recently. At first 『Yeon-am-jip』 was translated by Shin, Ho-yeol(1914~1993). I arranged his manuscript, revised the text and gave notes. While I translated this text, to accomplish a professional academic translation, I collected and examined many variants of 『Yeon-am-jip』, and tried to provide a nearly complete text. In addition I tried to give full comments upon the date of creation, the background of creation, and a difficult part of works, as well as an explanation of words and phrases. In this paper, I introduced various reference data for a revised edition of 『Yeon-am-jip』, a special effort in notes, and impressive cases in point.

      • 포공령 물추출물이 뱌양 인체 구강유상피암종세포에 미치는 항암효과

        In order to develop antitumor agent which indicates weak side effects and strong antitumor activity, antitumor effects of taraxaci herba water soluble extract was evaluated by MTT assay and SRB assay of colorimetric assay methods on the cultured human oral epitheloid carcinoma cells (KB cells). KB cells were cultured in RPMI 1640 media containing 10% fetal bovine serum, antibiotics and fungizone. After incubation for 24 hrs, the cells were treated with taraxaci herba water soluble extracts by dose dependent manner for 48 hrs under the same condition. The MTT and SRB quantity were measured by ELISA reader(Spectra Max 250, USA). The microscopic study was carried out to observed morphological change, Ag-NOR(argyrophylic nucleolar organizer region) number and PAS positive reacton of cultured KB cells. The results were as follows ; 1. The MTT and SRB quantity were significantly decreased in cultured KB cells treated with 10^-2 ㎎/㎖ and 10^-3 ㎎/㎖ concentration compared with control. 2. The number of Ag-NORs was significantly decreased in cultured KB cells treated with 10^-2 ㎎/㎖ concentration of taraxaci herba soluble extracts and the rate of Ag-NORs was shift left side(one Ag-NORs/nucleus was increased and five Ag-NORs/nucleus were decreased) by high concentration. 3. PAS reaction of cultured KB cells treated with 10^-2 ㎎/㎖ and 10^-3 ㎎/㎖ concentration was changed to negative. These results indicate that taraxaci herba soluble extracts may be contain antitumor compounds.

      • 전신반응시간에 의한 적정 준비운동량에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this experimental study was to evaluate of the adequate quantity of warming-up. The subjects were 13 volleyball players in laboratory high school, Inha University Located in Incheon City. Heart checker 108 system(senho-101), bicycle ergometer(MONAK-668) and whole body reaction time measuring equipment(T.K.K. 1264) were used for measuring quantity of warming-up, maximal physical work capacity and whole body reaction time. Loading of bicycle ergometer was the multi-stage escalation method. The results of this experimental study follows : 1.The correlation coefficient between the quantity of warming-up and the whole body reaction time was r= -0.975. 2.The adequate quantity of warming-up was 7,200 kpm. 3.The adequate quantity of warming-up was 58.38% of maximal physical work capacity.

In the cognitive degree on the dental caries, 'the dental caries occure as not to brush teeth' appeared to 52.1% and the ingestion of sweet food which is a reason of causing a dental caries appeared unexpectedly to 31.6%. So, it was considered to be a result of realized an importance of brushing.

      • 고분자 전해질 감습막의 합성과 전기적 성질

        고분자 습도센서의 감습재료로 이용하고자 4-vinylpyridine (4-VP) 과 methylmethacrylate(MMA) 의 공중함체를 전극에 도포한 후 α, ω-dihaloalkane으로 4 차 암모늄화시킨 후 습도변화에 따른 전기저항을 측정한 결과 소수성 모노머인 MMA의 양이증가할 수록 전기저항이 증가하였으며, 또한 α, ω-dihaloalkane에 의한 4차 암모늄화 반응시간에 따라서도 전기저항의 크기 및 감습막의 안정성에 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. In order to for a humidity sensitive material of polymeric humidity sensor, a copolymer of 4-vinylpyridine (4-VP) and methylmethacrylate (IBA) is coated on the electrode and then 4 quartermization by α, ω-dihaloalkane, and thereafter measured the electrical resistance due to humidity variation. As a result, the more content of MMA which is a hydrophobic monomer is increased, the more property of electrical resistance is increased. Also, according to the reaction time in 4 quarternization by α, ω-dihaloalkane we can see the diferences of the magnitude of electrical resistance and the stability of humidity -sensitive membrane.

      • 좌심실 전동순환 보조장치에 관한 연구

        본 논문에서는 정상류형 혈액 펌프의 일종인 축류형 혈액 펌프를 이용하여 혈액 펌프 시스템을 설계하였다. 이 시스템은 혈액 펌프, 신호 획득부, 인터페이스부, 신호 처리부로 구성되어 있고, 혈압과 심박수를 이용하여 혈압과 혈류량을 적절히 제어함으로써 좌심실의 기능을 보조할 목적으로 연구되었다. 전동 펌프가 회전할 때 생체내의 순환조건에 알맞도록 혈액 펌프의 회전수, 혈액 펌프에 걸리는 부하와 압력 정보를 적용하여 실험식을 만들어 제어에 이용하였으며 설계 제작된 모의 순환장치로써 실험한 결과 모의 혈관 내에서 적절한 혈압과 혈류의 제어가 가능하였고, 혈구의 변화량 실험 결과는 임시의 목적으로 사용가능함을 알 수 있었다. This paper outlines the development of a non-pulsatile axial flow type blood pump control system. By utilizing blood pressure and heart rate, this system can assist the left ventricle in controlling blood pressure and blood volume. The system is comprised of a blood pump, signal sensor, signal interface, and signal-processing component. A control algorithm is also proposed which can control non-pulsatile, continuous blood flow in the human circulatory system. To facilitate the control required fur non-pulsatile blood pump in a physiological system, an experimental control rule was developed utilizing ECG and blood pressure data, both of which are easily detectable variables in the bods. The system was then tested using a mock-up circulation system and we found that it is possible that this systems could be temporarily used in clinic.
