Moon, Seung-Chul. 1997. Optimality Theory in Syntax. Linguistics, 5-1, 235-253. The purpose of this paper is to show that Optimality Theory developed in phonology can also be applied to syntax. I discuss possibilities of some syntactic phenomena which may be explained by OT. And I focus on the binding facts of the unbounded reflexives and show that seemingly unbounded binding relation can be explained by the interaction of universal constraints, under Optimality Theory as proposed in Prince and Smolensky (1993). For syntactic binding, I follow Moon (1995) and assume a series of constraints, THC, LPC, SOC, CCC, DBC which affect binding by their mutual interaction with each other. I conclude this paper by showing that the five constraints on anaphoric binding interact to produce the best choice of antecedents. (Hankuk Aviation University)
An Optimality-driven Approach to Derivational Choices in English

This paper aims to provide an optimality-driven account for long-discussed derivational options in English sentences. Another purpose of this study is to examine what kinds of linguistic constraints are involved in accounting for derivational options and furthermore demonstrate that only limited number of well-known universal constraints such as Information constraint, Adjacency Constraint, Stay and Head movement can explain somewhat complicated derivational options with slight change of hierarchy among the constraints. In addition, I illustrate how the best derivational option can be selected by way of optimality-theoretic evaluation process. Finally I attempt to suggest a pedagogical method which can provide an answer to an optionality issues in English.
이동 애드 혹 네트워크에서의 환경적응형 QoS AODV 라우팅 프로토콜에 관한 연구

In this paper, we propose a bidirectional mobile Ad Hoc routing protocol based on AODV(ad-hoc on-demand distance vector routing) with QoS(quality of service) support. At presence, wireless mobile communication focuses on how to efficiently support mobility of users more than QoS guarantee. However, in order to satisfy requirement of various applications which have been or will be served, QoS guarantee between end points is a very important issue. The existing AODV routing protocol is implemented to use only BE (Best Effort) service. However, actual wireless mobile environment requires to reduce a waste of communication resources and meet with the real-time change of data paths by setting up routes with QoS support, considering available communication resources at each node in advance. Therefore, in this thesis, we propose an adaptive QoS support method using hello message in order to rapidly meet with the change of available communication resources and to smoothly perform route maintenance. For performance evaluation, we analyzed the average data reception rate. At that time, we used evaluation parameters such as node's mobility-stop time, hello message period, and packet priority, considering the node's mobility and the number of best effort/QoS data flows. As results, we found that with our proposed method the average data reception rate was increased 16.293%, 15.914%, 17.238% for 300 mobility-stop second case and 4.809%, 4.264%, 2.956% for 300 mobility-stop second case.
Inconel 718 상향 엔드밀링시 절삭력에 미치는 공구형상오차의 영향

In an end milling process, the undeformed chip section and cutting forces vary periodically with the phase change of the tool. However, the real undeformed chip section area deviates from the geometrically ideal one owing to the cutter runout and tool shape error. In the current study, a method of estimating the real undeformed chip section area which reflects the cutter runout and tool shape error is presented during up-end milling processes of Inconel 718. The specific cutting forces, K_r and K_t are defined as the radial and tangential cutting forces divided by the modified chip section area, respectively. Both of the K_r and K_t values become smaller as the helix angle increases from 30˚ to 40˚. Whereas they become larger as the helix angle increases from 40˚ to 50˚. The K_r and K_t values show a tendency to decrease with increase of the modified chip section area.

Abstract - In this thesis, we propose a QoS supporting method on wireless ad hoc-based active network for improving reliability. On the loss of route path, the existing DSR routing protocol has several problems with wireless network communication because of decease of data reception rate and increase of network load. The proposed method improves reliability of data transfer by using functions of active network. That is, by using functions of active nodes and active packets, the proposed method supports QoS with reservation transfer method that saves data packets on transfer at intermediate nodes with lost path and then re-transmit the packets after route reconfiguration.

The peripheral neuroblastomas are malignant neoplasms that originate from the adrenal gland and sympathetic nervous tissues. They usually occur in childhood. They exhibit such malignant features that they metastasize early to lung, liver, bone, rarely skull and other structures. The patients with peripheral neuroblastoma have short duration of symptom and short survival period. They reveal the characteristic light microscopic features that resemble other small cell carcinomas. The establishment of final diagnosis of peripheral neuroblastoma needs various special stainings for small cell carcinomas, and the electron microscopic findings are the most reliable. The authers recently experienced a case of peripheral neuroblastoma in a 26-year old man which involved right frontoparietal skull vault. The only chief complaint was a local non-tender mass at right frontoparietal scalp. Neither headache nor any neurological deficits was detected. Simple skull X-ary revealed a punched out rediolucency at right frontoparietal bone and brain CT showed a superficial elliptical high density mass that enhanced strongly. The mass was totally removed by wide craniectomy. The tumor invaded and penetrated the dura but the arachnoid membrane. at the tumor bed was not invaded by the tumor. The tumor was confirmed as peripheral neuroblastoma by various special stainings for small cell carcinomas. Following surgical resection of the mass, post-operative radiotherpy was offered(4800 rads for about 5 weeks). The patient aggrevated progressively and showed numerous metastases to such bones as lumbar vertebrae, pelvis and humerus to became paraplegic. 8 months after the operation, the patient died.

시험용 달 궤도선의 발사 요구조건 사전 분석 단계로 최근 외국에서 발사한 달 탐사선의 발사 요구조건을 분석하였다. 일반적으로 달 탐사선의 발사 요구조건은 달 임무 궤도를 결정하는 중요한 요소이며, 또한 지구, 달, 태양의 상대적인 운동으로 인해 임무궤도 요구조건을 만족하는 발사 가능 시간이 주기적으로 반복되는 경향이 있다. 분석 결과 설정된 발사 요구조건들로부터 달 궤도선의 주 임무가 달의 남/북극 지역의 광학 관측 임을 간접적으로 알 수 있었다. 향후 우리나라 달 궤도선 발사 요구 조건 설정에 본 논문이 도움이 되길 기대한다. In the preliminary study on launch window requirement for Korea Path-finder Lunar Orbiter(KPLO), the recent foreign lunar orbiter’s lauch window requirement was analyzed. Normally, the launch requirements depends on the mission orbit. Based on the relationship between Moon, Earth, and Sun, the launch time will be available periodically to meet requirements. In this paper, it is understood that the launch window requirements come from payload mission requirements to take picture each poles of Moon. This paper might be a practical example to derive KPLO launch requirements in the future.

In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.
超音波 硏削에 依한 화인 세라믹스의 加工性能에 關한 硏究

The fine ceramics are very difficult to grind to get high efficiency because they have not only high strength and brittleness but also high hardness. In this study, the ultrasonic grinding set-up that is operating by milling machine with attaching special device has been developed to get efficient machining of fine ceramics having wear resistance and brittle material. The following results through the experiment for various grinding conditions by the ultrasonic grinding are obtained. 1. Both the ultrasonic and the conventional grinding have 4 times better the grinding resistance value in horizontal direction than the vertical direction. 2. In case of table speed is low and grain size of diamond wheel is fine, the surface roughness is improved. But in case of grinding depth is increasing, the surface roughness is not improved because of increasing of grinding resistance and wornout of diamond wheel. 3. It could get high efficiency grinding effect by increasing grain size of diamond wheel. Also, it showed that tool wornout appears to be decreased than in case of conventional grinding under same condition.
