A STUDY OF THE HISTORICAL EARTHQUAKE CATALOG AND GUTENBERG-RICHTER PARAMETER VALUES OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA

The KIER's Korean historical earthquake catalog was revised for MMI${\geq}$VI events recorded from the years 27 A.D. to 1904. the magnitude of each event was directly determined from the criteria suggested by Seo. The criteria incorporated the damage phenomena of the Japanese historical earthquake catalog, recent seismological studies, and the results of tests performed on ancient structures in Korea. Thus, the uncertainty of the magnitudes of the Korean historical earthquakes can be reduced. Also, the Gutenberg-Richter parameter values were estimated based on the revised catalog of this study. It was determined that the magnitudes of a maximum inland and minimum offshore event were approximately 6.3 and 6.5, respectively. The Gutenberg-Richter parameter pairs of the historical earthquake catalog were estimated to be a=5.32${\pm}$0.21, b=0.95${\pm}$0.19, which were somewhat lower than those obtained from recent complete instrumental earthquakes. No apparent change in the Gutenberg-Richter parameter is observed for the $16^{th}-17^{th}$ centuries of the seismically active period.

일부지역 여대생의 스트레스와 구강건강

The purpose of this study was to examine factors related to the oral health by stress in college women. This survey was conducted between June 16, 2014 and July 18, 2014 to investigate the correlation between stress and oral health Data were obtained from 393 women students of 5 colleges in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do. The oral health of college students is related with the stress which has a correlation between oral condition satisfaction(-) and inconvenient(+) of mastication and pronunciation (p<0.01). Also, factors affecting stress are discomfort during mastication and oral state satisfaction and discomfort during mastication. The discomfort during mastication showed the highest stress while the higher status of oral satisfaction showed lower stress (p<0.05). Therefore, college women stress is related with oral health. Colleges should consider developing a program which can appropriately manage and regulate stress to relieve their stress.

근막 결손의 복원과 자궁천골인대 고정을 통한 전자궁적출술 후 질탈출의 성공적 교정

목적 : 본 연구는 전자궁적출술 후 질탈출을 부위-특이적인 결함의 개념에 입각하여 치골경부 근막과 직장질 격막의 연결을 통한 골반내 근막의 복원과 자궁천골인대 고정술을 이용한 질탈출의 성공적인 수술적 교정의 방법과 결과를 보고하고자 한다. 연구 방법 : 1999년부터 2001년 8월까지 자궁적출술 후 질궁탈출 증상으로 문화병원 산부인과를 내원, 탈출된 질의 근막을 재건시킨 다음, 이를 자궁천골인대에 고정시킴으로써 질의 부위-특이적인 교정술을 받은 3명의 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 3명중 1명은 개복술을 하였고 2명은 내시경 수술을 하였다. 결과 : 환자의 연령 분포는 49-67세였으며, 수술시간은 평균 113분 (105-125)이었다. 세 환자 모두 수술 후 질의 상태가 해부학 및 기능적으로 정상이었으며, 9일째 특이사항 없이 퇴원하였다. 수술 후 HRT를 시행한 1명을 포함한 3명 모두 각각 24개월, 12개월, 7개월간의 추적 검사에서도 특이한 합병증이나 재발 없이 좋은 경과를 보였다. 결론 : 골반 근막 결손의 복원과 자궁천골인대 고정술은 전자궁적출술 후 질탈출의 교정에 매우 안전하고 효과적이며, 기능적인 방법으로 사료되며, 자궁천골인대를 질탈출 교정에 이용한 연구는 본 연구가 국내에서 처음이다. Objective : To report the method and efficacy of the site specific-defects repair in the endopelvic fascia and uterosacral ligament suspension for the correction of posthysterectomy vaginal vault prolapse. Methods : This study was performed in 3 patients with posthyterectomy vaginal vault prolapse who underwent the surgery for the reconstruction of endopelvic fascia and the correction of vault prolapsed vagina by using uterosacral ligament suspension at the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Moon-Hwa Hospital. Among them, 1 patient was treated by laparotomy, and 2 patients were treated by laparoscope. Results : The age of patients ranged from 49 to 67 years. The mean operation time was 111 minutes (105-120 minutes). The status of postoperative vagina was normal in all 3 patients, who were discharged 9 days after operation without symptoms. No complication or recurrence were found in them despite long-term follow-up for 24 months, 12 months, 7 months, respectively after operation. One patient has been treated with HRT therapy. Conclusion : The reconstruction of the defect of endopelvic fascia and uterosacral ligament fixation may be very safe, effective, and functional in the correction of vaginal vault prolapse. This study reports the treatment of vaginal vault prolapse using uterosacral ligament within Korea for the first time.

정보보안 실습을 위한 시스템 구성 방법

The model of system construction for practice room of department of information security is not suggested yet. The students majoring in the security are sharing computers constructed in the same class room with many other students majoring in IT related sciences. So, they don't get the full benefit of the security practies. In this paper, I suggest the system construction scheme consisting of network part, system part, and application program configuration part for the practice room to effectively share computers between students of information securoty and others. I hope that the adaptation of this scheme for construction of computer practice room comes in pretty handy for all students to develop the skill of the computer.

Effects of O₂ addition to CH₄ -H₂ mixture on the diamond film growth and gas composition were investigated. While the growth rate was decreased by the addition of O₂, but the crystallinity of the film was improved due to the effectiveness of oxygen in selective etching of the non-diamond phases. For the mixture of 10 % CH₄, however, the small amount of added O₂ has made the growth rate rather increase probably due to the promotion of CH₄ decomposition. Thermodynamic equilibrium gas-phase compositions calculated by computer simulation showed a dramatic change when the amount of added O₂ was about half of CH₄, and these results were discussed with experimental results.

The most distinctive feature of Jagyeongnoo is its simple and secure mechanisms devised for automatic audio-visual time announcing system. The Veritable Records Sejong Sillok suggested that special emphasis had been put upon signaling subdivided night-watches with mechanical logic operator. In this paper, the details of the night-watch signalling mechanism was described at full length. Through the recent reconstruction of the whole system of Jagyeongnoo which has been missing for several hundred years, the authors could discover the real ingenuity of Jang Yeong-sil displayed on the first Korean mechanical clockwork.

Acetylene gas monomers were polymerized by RF plasma enhanced CVD method. Effects of reaction pressure, plasma power, and temperature on the deposition rate and chemical structure of films were investigated. Deposition rates were increased with a reaction pressure and delivered plasma power, but temperature effect experiment exhibited that deposited films had a poor thermal stability. IR studies of the films showed that plasma energy was strong enough to break the triple bond in the acetylene gas monomer, so only a few double bonds were survived in films.

This paper present an analytical model of a GTO based on the calculation of the charge distribution in the base layers by an approximation of the time derivatives. All essential effects like avalanche breakdown, recombination backinjection into the high doped emitter and conductivity modulation are included. The model consist of simplified fundamental semiconductor equation and provides most of the important characteristics of a GTO device under static and dynamic condition.
