OTA Kinjo(1765~1825) was a famous Japanese evidential scholar of Confucius classics. Although he advocated Han- and Song-Learning syncretism, most scholars who studied about him have thus far focused on his accomplishment in evidential research. This paper casts light on Kinjo`s syncretism by comparing the scholarship of Kinjo with that of contemporary Chinese scholars of the 18th century who are regarded to have advocated Han- and Song-Learning syncretism. Through careful consideration, the following results have been obtained: (1) Contemporary evidential scholars regarded as advocates of Han- and Song-Learning syncretism in China are not actually eclectic, because they scarcely mention the writings of Song scholars and they reject the philosophical orientation toward the Classics which the scholars advocating Song-Learning were in favor of. (2) On the other hands, Kinjo often mentioned the writings of the Song scholars and was much interested in the topics they dealt with. His learning deserves to be counted as “Han- and Song-Learning syncretism.” (3) The learning of Kinjo has many common characteristics with that of the scholars in the early Qing era. One factor of that is that he could read few writings of contemporary(mid-Qing) scholars, although he could read many writings of early Qing scholars.

Background/Aims: Colonoscopy and computed tomography (CT) are used primarily to exclude organic diseases in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), rather than to assess the pathophysiology of IBS. We aimed to evaluate colonic dysmotility and morphology in Japanese patients with IBS. Methods: One hundred eighty-four patients with IBS and 49 asymptomatic controls who underwent colonoscopy in combination with CT colonography or barium enema were retrospectively reviewed between 2008 and 2012. Water-aided colonoscopy was performed without sedation by a single endoscopist. The duration and pattern of colonic movement and cecal intubation time were recorded. To assess colonic morphology, barium enema or CT colonography were performed immediately after colonoscopy. Results: Colonic dysmotility was more frequent in the IBS group (28.8% vs. 2.0% in controls, P <0.001), especially in cases of IBS with diarrhea (IBS-D) (IBS with constipation [IBS-C] 28.8% vs. IBS-D 60.0% vs. mixed IBS [IBS-M] 5.1%, P <0.001). Colonic morphological abnormality was more frequent in the IBS group than in the control group (77.7% vs. 24.5%, P <0.001), especially in IBS-M and IBS-C groups (IBS-C 77.5% vs. IBS-D 48.9% vs. IBS-M 100%, P <0.001). Most patients with IBS with colonic dysmotility had experienced stress related to their symptoms. Cecal intubation time was significantly longer in the IBS group than in the control group (12.1±6.9 minutes vs. 4.6±1.9 minutes, P <0.001). Conclusions: Unsedated colonoscopy, combined with radiographic findings, can detect colonic dysmotility and morphological abnormality. Technical difficulties observed during cecal intubation may partially explain the pathophysiology of IBS. (Intest Res 2017;15:236-243)
Development of Nano-sized WC Powder for Hardmetals
Yamamoto Yoshiharu,Mizukami Masahiko 한국분말야금학회 2006 한국분말야금학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2006 No.1
In order to develop the nano-sized WC powder that improved the hardness of hardmetals, carbothermal reduction of WO3 by C was examined by using the thermogravimetric analysis. At the direct carburization reaction path of , the nano-sized grain was generated at the reaction stage to and W. For trial production, the intermediate products which consists of metal and carbide phases obtained by the first heating has been carburized to the final WC powder. We succeeded in the development of the WC powder of about 70nm. In addition, the nano-sized WC powder in which the vanadium of the most effective grain growth inhibitor was uniformly dispersed was developed.
Hypsochromic Shifts in Retinochrome Absorption Spectra in the Presence of Nitrate
Takemori, Nobuaki,Mizukami, Taku,Tsujimoto, Kazuo Korean Society of Photoscience 2002 Journal of Photosciences Vol.9 No.2
The absorption wavelength of the protonated retinal Schiff base can be controlled by the surrounding environment. An external anion is related to fine adjustment of the absorption wavelength. The addition of anion to retinochrome solution caused blue shift in spectra. The increase of the shift was dependent on the ion concentration. The large shift value was obtained as 20 nm at the saturated concentration of nitrate. The shift intensity for the nitrate addition exceeded that of chloride. Seemingly, it depends on the ionic strength or lyotropic character of the anion. However, neither of sulphate nor gluconate ion showed remarkable blue shift. These phenomena were accounted for with (1) delocalization of the positive charge in the conjugated polyene system, (2) ionic bonding strength between the counter ion (glutamate) and the proton, and/or (3) interaction of the added anion with the proton on Schiff base.
