Teaching Korean English Loanwords to Hindi-speaking Korean Language Learners in India

Ashutosh Kumar Mishra 국제인문사회연구학회 2025 Studies on Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSC) Vol.7 No.2

Teaching Korean English Loanwords to Hindi-speaking Korean Language Learners in India Ashutosh Kumar Mishra* Abstract: The integration of English loanwords into Korean presents a unique challenge for Hindi-speaking learners of the Korean language in India. These learners often struggle with the accurate pronunciation, and usage of loanwords due to significant phonological and structural differences between Hindi, English, and Korean. This study investigates these challenges through a targeted survey conducted among 64 Hindi-speaking Korean language learners. We identified key pronunciation difficulties and categorized them based on frequency and severity. Building on these findings, we developed a task-based teaching methodology tailored to address specific pronunciation and comprehension issues related to loanwords. This approach incorporates pronunciation drills, phonetic comparisons, and contextual usage tasks to enhance both recognition and articulation. Feedback from participants indicates a marked improvement in their ability to understand and pronounce English loanwords in Korean, with 84% reporting increased confidence and clarity in their usage. Our results suggest that a structured, task-based pedagogical approach can bridge linguistic gaps and significantly support Korean language acquisition among Hindi-speaking learners. This study not only sheds light on an under-explored learner demographic but also offers practical strategies for language educators working in multilingual environments. We propose this methodology as a scalable model for broader application in Korean language education across similar linguistic backgrounds. CGF-Deep-CNN: A Novel Computationally Enhanced Multiclass Cyber Attacks Detection Model for Low Powered IoT Ecosystem

        Mishra Sushruta,Gaber Tarek,Tripathy Hrudaya Kumar,Mishra Samaresh,Al-Khalidi Mohammed,Bashir Ali Kashif 한국컴퓨터산업협회 2025 Human-centric Computing and Information Sciences Vol.15 No.-

Recently, heavy network traffic and significant data accumulation have been observed in smart energy-efficient wireless sensor-based applications. These power-aware sensors devices form low-power Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem. In such applications, IoT nodes gather and analyze private data, which becomes a natural target for cyber-attacks. Many intrusion detection systems (IDSs) are designed to address this issue, but the majority of these systems are computationally expensive with high latency and fail to accurately identify subcategories of cyber-attacks. Attribute selection would help in reducing the data required for attack identification, thereby decreasing delays and memory usage for data storage, while also enhancing detection performance. In this paper, an advanced and optimized IDS model for IoT applications was proposed, utilizing a novel hybrid attribute selection method called credit gain function (CGF). This method incorporates correlation feature selection (CFS) and gain ratio. The proposed attribute selector is used to optimize the dataset through CGF, resulting in a memory-constrained dataset. By employing the proposed CFS method, a novel IDS model based on the Deep-CNN technique is recommended for detecting and classifying cyber-attacks and their sub-categories within an IoT environment. Performance analysis of the presented framework was conducted using four public datasets—IoTID20, UNSW-nb15, NSL-KDD, and KDD—under various metrics, employing different parameters for binary, multi-class, and sub-category classification. The evaluation demonstrated that the proposed IDS model is highly capable, achieving a high accuracy, precision, recall, and F-measure of 98.1%, 96.7%, 96.3%, and 96.8%, respectively. The optimal performance was attained when implementing two convolutional layers and three dense layers of the CNN model with a batch size of 64. Additionally, the presented framework was evaluated to be efficient, with a mean response delay of 2.8 seconds and a low false positive rate of 0.002%. Consequently, the proposed intrusion detection model offers a constructive solution for assessing different cyber-attacks in an IoT ecosystem.

Assessment of physical stability and photoprotective activity of topical formulations added with calendula oil

Mishra, Arun K.,Mishra, Amrita,Chattopadhyay, Pronobesh 경희한의학연구센터 2012 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.12 No.1

In the present work, the changes on physical properties (pH, viscosity, flow index and tixotropy) of topical formulations were evaluated following addition of calendula oil containing flavonoids. Also the photoprotective effect of these topical formulations were evaluated against ultra violet rays (UVR) induced sunburn in terms of sun protection factor (SPF). Formulation added with sun flower oil was used to compare the physical stability and photoprotective activity. Formulations added with calendula oil exhibited an average pH 7.2 and pseudoplastic behavior. The tixotropy values for formulations F3 and F4, after addition with calendula oil were found to be statistically decreased when compared with FS and Fb. The rheological parameters were constant during the study and the rheograms exhibited no sign of instability when studied at $4^{\circ}$, $27^{\circ}$ and $40^{\circ}C$ on different days of storage. The F3 and F4 samples showed statistically higher SPF (14 and 15 respectively) when compared with Fb (without active sunscreening agent). The highest SPF value 16 was recorded for FS (control formulation added with sun flower oil) while Fb showed lowest SPF vale 5.We concluded that F3, F4 and FS showed higher SPF and physical stability. This study of physical stability and photoprotectice activity of topical formulation can help in the development of sunscreen formulation.

Rough Fuzzy Control of SVC for Power System Stability Enhancement

Mishra, Yateendra,Mishra, Sukumar,Dong, Zhao Yang The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2008 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.3 No.3

This paper presents a new approach to the design of a rough fuzzy controller for the control loop of the SVC (static VAR system) in a two area power system for stability enhancement with particular emphasis on providing effective damping for oscillatory instabilities. The performances of the rough fuzzy and the conventional fuzzy controller are compared with that of the conventional PI controller for a variety of transient disturbances, highlighting the effectiveness of the rough fuzzy controller in damping the inter-area oscillations. The effect of the rough fuzzy controller in improving the CCT (critical clearing time) of the two area system is elaborated in this paper as well.

Synthesis of New VO(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) Complexes with Isatin-3-Chloro-4-Floroaniline and 2-Pyridinecarboxylidene-4-Aminoantipyrine and their Antimicrobial Studies

Mishra, Anand P.,Mishra, Rudra,Jain, Rajendra,Gupta, Santosh The Korean Society of Mycology 2012 Mycobiology Vol.40 No.1

The complexes of tailor made ligands with life essential metal ions may be an emerging area to answer the problems of multi drug resistance. The coordination complexes of VO(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with the Schiff bases derived from isatin with 3-chloro-4-floroaniline and 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde with 4-aminoantipyrine have been synthesized by conventional as well as microwave methods. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, electronic spectra, FT-IR, FAB mass and magnetic susceptibility measurements. FAB mass data show degradation of complexes. Both the ligands behave as bidentate and tridentate coordinating through O and N donor. The complexes exhibit coordination number 4, 5 or 6. The Schiff base and metal complexes show a good activity against the bacteria; $Staphylococcus$ $aureus$, $Escherichia$ $coli$ and $Streptococcus$ $fecalis$ and fungi $Aspergillus$ $niger$, $Trichoderma$ $polysporum$, $Candida$ $albicans$ and $Aspergillus$ $flavus$. The antimicrobial results also indicate that the metal complexes are better antimicrobial agents as compared to the Schiff bases. The minimum inhibitory concentrations of the metal complexes were found in the range 10-40 ${\mu}g/mL$.

        Kamal Mishra,R. K. Chauhan,Rajan Mishra,Vaibhava Srivastava 한국전기전자재료학회 2024 Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Material Vol.25 No.1

An optoelectronic device to detects incident light and convert it into an electrical signal is known as a photodetector. To obtain higher responsivity and detectivity of photo detector, suitable materials are required. In the present study, an inorganic leadfree perovskite CsSn 0.5 Ge0.5 I3 material is utilized as an active layer for photodetector applications, together with Nb2 O5 as electron transport layer (ETL) and CuSbSe2 as hole transport layer (HTL). The perovskite photodetector (PePd) is simulated by employing Solar Cell Capacitance Simulator-One Dimensional (SCAPS-1D) software. We have thoroughly investigated the impact of various parameters such as the defect density and donor concentration of active layer, series and shunt resistance, the thickness of active layer and metal work function of back contact using numerical simulation. Under standard AM 1.5G irradiance, we obtained the detectivity (D*) and responsivity (R) of the proposed photodetector are 3.3 × 10 13 Jones and 0.54 AW -1 respectively. The proposed device performances reveal that it is suitable for high performance photodetector.

Effect of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation on Seizure Frequency and Epileptiform Discharges in Drug-Resistant Epilepsy: A Meta-Analysis

        Archana Mishra,Rituparna Maiti,Biswa Ranjan Mishra,Monalisa Jena,Anand Srinivasan 대한신경과학회 2020 Journal of Clinical Neurology Vol.16 No.1

Background and Purpose The role of low-frequency repetitive transcranial stimulation (rTMS) in drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) has been conflicting and inconclusive in previous clinical trials. This meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy of rTMS on seizure frequency and epileptiform discharges in DRE. Methods A standard meta-analysis protocol was registered in the International Prospective Register of Ongoing Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO: CRD42018088544). After performing a comprehensive literature search using specific keywords in MEDLINE, the Cochrane database, and the International Clinical Trial Registry Platform (ICTRP), reviewers assessed the eligibility and extracted data from seven relevant clinical trials. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines were followed in the selection, analysis, and reporting of findings. A random-effects model was used to estimate the effect size as the mean difference in seizure frequency and interictal epileptiform discharges between the groups. Quality assessment was performed using a risk-of-bias assessment tool, and a meta- regression was used to identify the variables that probably influenced the effect size. Results The random-effects model analysis revealed a pooled effect size of -5.96 (95% CI= -8.98 to -2.94), significantly favoring rTMS stimulation (p=0.0001) over the control group with regard to seizure frequency. The overall effect size for interictal epileptiform discharges also significantly favored rTMS stimulation (p<0.0001), with an overall effect size of -9.36 (95% CI=-13.24 to -5.47). In the meta-regression, the seizure frequency worsened by 2.00±0.98 (mean±SD, p=0.042) for each week-long lengthening of the posttreatment follow-up period, suggesting that rTMS exerts only a short-term effect. Conclusions This meta-analysis shows that rTMS exerts a significant beneficial effect on DRE by reducing both the seizure frequency and interictal epileptiform discharges. However, the meta-regression revealed only an ephemeral effect of rTMS.

Augmentation Strategies for Partial or Non-responders to Clozapine in Patients with Schizophrenia: A Bayesian Network Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

        Archana Mishra,Rituparna Maiti,Biswa Ranjan Mishra,Anand Srinivasan 대한정신약물학회 2024 CLINICAL PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE Vol.22 No.2

Clozapine is the only approved drug for treatment-resistant schizophrenia, but the response to the drug is often inadequate. Augmentation with other antipsychotics, anticonvulsants, and antidepressants is recommended for such patients, but there is a lack of evidence regarding the most effective therapy. This network meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of pharmacological agents used in the augmentation strategies in patients who were partial/non-responders to clozapine. Relevant data were extracted from 30 randomized controlled trials through searches of electronic databases (MEDLINE/PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, clinical trial registries). PRISMA guidelines were followed for the extraction, management, analysis, and reporting of the data. The outcome measure in this study was a reduction in symptom severity according to total PANSS/BPRS and was reported as the standardized mean difference with a 95% credible interval. Bayesian network meta-analysis with random effects model and uninformative priors was conducted, and the ranking probability of each intervention was done. Meta-regression was done to assess the effect of duration on the reduction in symptom severity scores. Mirtazapine (−5.2 [95%CrI: −7.7, −2.7]) and memantine (−2.1 [95%CrI: −4.0, −0.19]) were more efficacious than placebo for augmentation of clozapine in partial/non-responders and were the most effective adjunctive agents as per SUCRA scores. Both drugs did not cause a significant increase in frequency of adverse events compared to placebo. There was a significant effect of duration on the reduction in symptom severity. There was no evident publication bias. Mirtazapine and memantine may prove beneficial for augmentation of clozapine in non/partial responders to monotherapy.
