A Conflict Measure Model for an Application to Green Supplier Selection

        Mingrong Deng,Jin-Xiao Chen,Weixuan Xu 중앙대학교 한국전자무역연구소 2010 전자무역연구 Vol.8 No.4

As environmental issues are of increased concern, many enterprises pay close attention to green supply chain. The conflict among supply chain members should be evaluated since the long strategic relation is essential to cooperate and collaborate smoothly. Based on their attitudes toward important issues, a conflict evaluation model is proposed. Due to the particularity in aggregating conflicts, both the issue importance and aggregation structure are considered. The weight parameters in model are delivered from experience. The model is very effective in supplier selection under e-trade mode because the attitudes can be collected easily through information platform. This paper address the problem how to measure the conflict between two organizations based on their real attitudes toward some important issues, for example, environmental ones.

The effect of chlorfenapyr exposure on Solenopsis invicta Buren (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

        Liang Yuling,Liang Mingrong,Li Panpan,Song Yunbo,Lu Yongyue 한국응용곤충학회 2023 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.26 No.2

Red imported fire ant (RIFA), Solenopsis invicta Buren, pose a serious risk to the agriculture, environment, and public health in areas invaded by this species. Chemical insecticides have been widely used to prevent and control this plaguing pest. To discover a novel and cost-effective compound for controlling fire ants, we examined the toxic effect of chlorfenapyr on fire ants. While chlorfenapyr exhibited an insufficient horizontal toxicity transfer and knockdown effect to fire ants, feeding with chlorfenapyr solution increased fire ant workers’ gathering abilities while decreasing their walking, climbing, and adhesion ability. The mortalities of the small, medium, and large-size workers were 84.17%, 98.75%, and 82.08%, respectively, after 72 h of treatment with 25, 50, and 200 μg/ml chlorfenapyr. Additionally, females and males exhibited more higher tolerance than workers to chlorfenapyr; meanwhile, females showed a higher resistance than males. That is, the mortality of males was 100% after 120 h of treatment with 6.25 μg/ml chlorfenapyr. In contrast, the mortality of females was 79.05% after 144 h of treatment with 100 μg/ml chlorfenapyr. In addition, the chlorfenapyr bait exhibited significant toxicity on fire ants. Treated with 0.01% chlorfenapyr bait showed a better toxic effect than 0.025% during the period of 2 d-7 d. However, the weight of ant corpses was 1.32 and 1.23 g at 12 d of treatment with 0.025% and 0.01% chlorfenapyr bait, respectively. The present research showed that chlorfenapyr appeared to be an effectively potential toxic compound for developing bait to manage S. invicta.

Diabetes Medication Use in Association with Survival among Patients of Breast, Colorectal, Lung, or Gastric Cancer

        Michelle L. Baglia,Yong Cui,Tao Zheng,Gong Yang,Honglan Li,Mingrong You,Liling Xu,Harvey Murff,Yu-Tang Gao,Wei Zheng,Yong-Bing Xiang,Xiao-Ou Shu 대한암학회 2019 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.51 No.2

Purpose Studies suggest that regular use of metformin may decrease cancer mortality. We investigated the association between diabetes medication use and cancer survival. Materials and Methods The current study includes 633 breast, 890 colorectal, 824 lung, and 543 gastric cancer cases identified from participants of two population-based cohort studies in Shanghai. Information on diabetes medication use was obtained by linking to electronic medical records. The associations between diabetes medication use (metformin, sulfonylureas, and insulin) and overall and cancer-specific survival were evaluated using time-dependent Cox proportional hazards models. Results After adjustment for clinical characteristics and treatment factors, use of metformin was associated with better overall survival among colorectal cancer patients (hazards ratio [HR], 0.55; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.34 to 0.88) and for all four types of cancer combined (HR, 0.75; 95% CI, 0.57 to 0.98). Ever use of insulin was associated with worse survival for all cancer types combined (HR, 1.89; 95% CI, 1.57 to 2.29) and for the four cancer types individually. Similar associations were seen for diabetic patients. Sulfonylureas use was associated with worse overall survival for breast or gastric cancer (HR, 2.87; 95% CI, 1.22 to 6.80 and HR, 2.05; 95% CI, 1.09 to 3.84, respectively) among diabetic patients. Similar association patterns were observed between diabetes medication use and cancer-specific survival. Conclusion Metformin was associated with improved survival among colorectal cancer cases, while insulin use was associated with worse survival among patients of four major cancers. Further investigation on the topic is needed given the potential translational impact of these findings.

Recommendations on management of gynecological malignancies during the COVID-19 pandemic: perspectives from Chinese gynecological oncologists

        Yingmei Wang,Shiqian Zhang,Lihui Wei,Zhongqiu Lin,Xinyu Wang,Jianliu Wang,Keqin Hua,Manhua Cu,Jiandong Wang,Shixuan Wang,Wen Di,Yudong Wang,Ruifang An,Mingrong Xi,Ruixia Guo,Qi Zhou,Xing Xie,Fengxia X 대한부인종양학회 2020 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.31 No.4

The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratorysyndrome coronavirus 2 has rapidly spread globally. Cancer patients are at a higher risk ofbeing infected with the coronavirus and are more likely to develop severe complications, ascompared to the general population. The increasing spread of COVID-19 presents challengesfor the clinical care of patients with gynecological malignancies. Concerted efforts should beput into managing gynecological malignancies in an orderly manner by strictly implementingthe measures that are specifically developed for controlling the spread of COVID-19. We havedrafted Recommendations on Management of Gynecological Malignancies during the COVID-19 Pandemicbased on our experience on controlling COVID-19 pandemic in China. We recommendthat patients with gynecological malignancies should be managed in hierarchical andindividualized manners in combination with local conditions related to COVID-19. Medicalcare decision should be balanced between controlling COVID-19 pandemic spread and timelydiagnosis and treatment for gynecologic oncology patients.
