      • 중등 체육교사의 임파워먼트 영향 요인에 관한 연구

        This Study intends to search for the major factors affecting physical education teacher's empowerment in secondary school and to explain how differently these factors would be recognized according to the sexes of physical education teachers, ages, education careers, school levels, positions, and scholastic ability. Based on the study objectives, in order to make clear affecting factors and relationships between the factors, I selected the following specific questions. First, according to demographic characteristics (sexes, ages, education careers, school levels, positions, and scholastic ability), how differently the major factors affecting empowerment would be recognized. Second, which influences do the major factors affecting empowerment(school culture, leadership of headmaster, participation of decision making) have on? The target of this study is 170 physicals education teachers in Gyunggi-do City G which were chosen with proportional grouping method by mans of making calls and visiting after informing the reasons and objectives of this study and getting agreements, I chose visiting places and times and gave out questionnaires. Given out questionnaires are 170 altogether. However, except for 20 questionnaires missed for the reasons of lack of faithfulness, 150 questionnaires were analyzed using program SPPS 12.OK for Windows. For analyses of materials, I used the following statistical analyses. First, one-way ANOVA or T-Test were used in order to examine the main factors affecting empowerment and recognition difference according to physical education teacher's demographic characteristics. Second, Multiple Regression Analysis was used to make clear the main factors affecting empowerment. The results and conclusions of this study are following. First, according to the physical education teacher's demographic characteristics, the main factors affecting empowerment and components for recognition(capability, influencing power, meaningfulness, and autonomy) are different in sex, age, position, education career, scholastic career. That is, male teachers rather than female teachers(in leadership factor of headmaster), headmasters rather than teachers(in empowerment autonomy factor, decision-making participation factor, headmaster's leadership factor, school factor), older, higher education career, higher scholastic ability made recognition highly. On the other hand, school levels didn't. Second, decision making participation(P<.001) and headmaster's leadership factor had meaningful influence on empowerment, but school culture factor didn't. In that the main factors affecting empowerment affect the empowerment components, decision-making participation has an influence on capability component, decision-making participation and headmaster's leadership factor have an influence on the influencing power and decision-making participation has an influence on autonomy component. Also, among the lower rank factors in the factors affecting empowerment, reformative leadership in headmaster's leadership affected empowerment and professional factor in decision making participation factor (P<.001) affected the empowerment. In conclusion, to make clear the main factors affecting physical education teacher's empowerment, I chose the dependent variables as the school culture, headmaster's leadership, decision-making participation, so I knew that the affecting order is the decision-making participation, headmaster's leadership, and school culture. The results of this study is helpful in understanding the various affecting factors for empowerment and the affecting degree of the factors. However, through succeeding studies, it is necessary to generalize how to improve the empowerment and how to show the specific ways. Now that decision-making participation affects the teacher's empowerment, it is necessary to extend both teacher's decision-making process and autonomy for education activity and activate decision-making mechanism for getting opinions. For these, it is necessary to use interviews with headmasters, various committees and councils in school, and surveying methods for target's introspection. Also following studies would be needed to reflect the representative opinions of each groups without any neglected groups. Moreover, through reflecting the lower-career and younger teacher's opinions, well-balanced decision makings should be made for improving teacher's empowerments.

        6 strains of S. quadricauda var. biornatus Kiss which is new to Korea were isolated from 6 different localities in Seoul and Kyunggi-do area in order to examine their taxonomic identity. Morphological variations of the coenobia, percentage of coenobia formed and the ultrastructure of the cell wall were observed in both synchronized and stationary cultures. Three different coenobial types, i.e. abundans type, biornatus type and quadricauda type were produced in all isolates. The percentages of coenobial types produced in different strains varied depending on the culture period. The cell wall structure of all but one(st. QB-6) strain were identical and constant through out the culture period. The cell wall structure of S. quadricauda var biornatus were unique in its smooth surface and the presence of 1 or 2 rosette, and could be easely distinguished from those of S. quadricauda, S. armatus, S. ellipsoideus and S. intermedius which produce biornatus type coenobia during early log phase of growth.

      • Serious adverse events during clinical trial for pharmacokinetic interation between telmisartan and chlorthalidone in healthy Korean subjects: A case report

        Te1misartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist and chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuret-ics. In this study, we report serious adverse events (SAEs) during clinical trial for pharmacokinetic interaction between telmisartan and chlorthalidone in healthy Korean subjects. Two separate, ran-domized, multiple-dose, two-period, one-sequence studies were conducted at Kyungpook National University Hospital. In part A, 43 volunteers received telmisartan for 7 days, and then chlorthali-done for 14 days (days 8-21). Telrnisartan was co-administered during day 15-21 to evaluate the effects of chlorthalidone on the pharmacokinetics of telmisartan at steady state. A healthy 36-year-old male in part A was referred to the emergency room due to severe nausea and vomiting developed about 3 h after administration of chlorthalidone on day 9. Hypokalemia and QT prolongation were observed during his initial laboratory examination and electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring in the emergency wilt. Nausea and vomiting improved after conservative management with hos-pitalization for 9 days. We consider that the episodes of excessive nausea and vomiting resulted in hypokalemic state which was potentiated by chlorthalidone. And the hypokalemic state caused the lengthening of the QT interval on ECG.

      • 제주연안 갯녹음(백화) 지역의 해수에 분포하는 세균군의 분자생물학적 분석

        본 연구에서는 갯녹음(백화)현상이 세균생태계와 어떤 관련이 있는지에 대한 기초자료 및 정보를 얻기 위하여 갯녹음 현상이 일어난 제주도 성산과 강정지역 연안의 해수에 존재하는 세균군을 16S rRNA 증폭기법을 이용하여 조사하였다. 강정지역에서는 Alcanivorax, Paracoccus, Damselae, Pseudomonas, Rhodovulum, Silicibacter, Sulfitobacter, Roseobacter 등 다양한 종류의 세균이 분포되어 있었으며, Alcanivorax가 20%의 빈도로 가장 많이 나타났다. 반면, 성산 지역에서는 Pseudomonas속 균주가 우점종으로서 존재하였으며, Pseudomonas tolaasii(혹은 Pseudomonas corrugata)와 유연관계가 가까운 세균은 44%, Pseudomonas mandeli와 가까운 세균이 24%, Verrucomicrobiales와 가까운 세균은 4%, 기타 동정되지 않은 세균은 세 group으로 구분되었으며, 각각 8%, 8%, 12%를 차지하여, 두 곳에 분포되어 있는 세균군상이 상당한 차이점이 있음을 확인하였다. 갯녹음 지역인 강정과 성산 해수의 8월(표품 채집시기)의 수온은 27℃-27.5℃, 염분의 농도는 30.24-30.60%, pH는 8.23-8.36, 용존산소량(DO)은 각각 7.20-7.28로, 두 지역에서 매우 비슷한 것으로 조사된 바 있는데, 이는 수온이나 염분의 농도, 또는 pH보다는 다른 원인에 의하여 두 갯녹음 지역에 분포하는 세균군의 차이를 가져왔음을 제시해 주었다. In this study, the bacterial communities distributed in sea water of the whitening areas of Gangjeong and Seongsan, Jeju-do have been analyzed using the PCR amplification of 16S rRNA to obtain fundamental data and information on relationship of the whitening phenomenon and microbial ecosystem. In Gangjeong, diverse bacteria such as Alcanivorax, Paracoccus, Damselae, Pseudomonas, Rhodovulum, Silicibacier, Sulfitobacter, and Roseobacier have been found, and Alcanivorax was the most abundant clone. The most abundant clone from Seongsan was Pseudoinonas, of which Pseudomonastolaasii and Pseudonionas mandeli were most abundantly occurred in the frequency of approx 44% and 24%, respectively. Approx 4% of the bacterial clones closest to firruconiicrobiales and other unidentified clones were also found in Seongsan, suggesting there is a great discrepancy between bacterial communities from the whitening areas of Seongsan and Gangjeong. The mean tem- perature, chlorine concentration, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO) of the sea water of Gangjeong and Seongsan in August of 2001 (sampling period) was 27℃-27.5℃, 30.24-30.60%, pH 8.23-8.36,7.20-7.28 ㎎/ℓ, suggesting other environmental factors except for the factors mentioned above might result in difference of bacterial communities distributed in both areas.

        Cytotoxic and Apoptotic Activities of Tussilago farfara Extract in HT-29 Human Colon Cancer Cells

        The flower buds of Tussilago farfara (TF) have been traditionally used in oriental medicine for the treatment of bronchitis and asthma. In our study, the primary objective was to determine the mechanisms that are inherent to TF-induced cytotoxicity and apoptosis, using the methanolic extract of TF (TFM) in HT-29 human colon cancer cells. We found that TFM-induced induced cytotoxicity in HT-29 cells in a dose-dependent manner. This effect was verified via an MTT reduction assay, an lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release assay, and a colony formation assay. Interestingly, we also detected apoptotic bodies on Hoechst staining, and attempted to determine whether TFM-induced apoptosis involved the caspase pathway using a caspase-3/7 activity assay. Overall, the results indicate that TFM contain chemotherapeutic agents and potential candidates use for against human colon cancer cells.

      • Mind bomb-1 Is Essential for Intraembryonic Hematopoiesis in the Aortic Endothelium and the Subaortic Patches

        <B>ABSTRACT</B><P>Intraembryonic hematopoiesis occurs at two different sites, the floor of the aorta and subaortic patches (SAPs) of the para-aortic splanchnopleura (P-Sp)/aorta-gonad-mesonephros (AGM) region. Notch1 and RBP-jκ are critical for the specification of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in Notch signal-receiving cells. However, the mechanism by which Notch signaling is triggered from the Notch signal-sending cells to support embryonic hematopoiesis remains to be determined. We previously reported that Mind bomb-1 (Mib1) regulates Notch ligands in the Notch signal-sending cells (B. K. Koo, M. J. Yoon, K. J. Yoon, S. K. Im, Y. Y. Kim, C. H. Kim, P. G. Suh, Y. N. Jan, and Y. Y. Kong, PLoS ONE 2:e1221, 2007). Here, we show that intraembryonic hematopoietic progenitors were absent in the P-Sp of <I>Mib1</I><SUP>−/−</SUP> embryos, whereas they were partly preserved in the <I>Tie2-cre</I>; <I>Mib1</I><SUP><I>f</I></SUP><SUP>/<I>f</I></SUP> P-Sps, suggesting that Mib1 plays a role in the endothelium and the SAPs. Interestingly, <I>dll1</I> and <I>dll4</I>/<I>Jag1</I> are expressed in the SAPs and the endothelium of the AGM, respectively, where <I>mib1</I> is detected. Indeed, Notch signaling was activated in the nascent HSCs at both sites. In the P-Sp explant culture, the overexpression of Dll1 in OP9 stromal cells rescued the failed production of hematopoietic progenitors in the <I>Mib1</I><SUP>−/−</SUP> P-Sp, while its activity was abolished by Mib1 knockdown. These results suggest that Mib1 is important for intraembryonic hematopoiesis not only in the aortic endothelium but also in the SAPs.</P>
