인도네시아인 한국어 학습자의 /ㅓ/와 /ㅗ/ 발음에 대한 실험음성학적 연구

        Meutia, Fitri,김영주 한국음운론학회 2012 음성·음운·형태론 연구 Vol.18 No.2

The purpose of this study was to analyze Indonesian learners’ ability to recognize the difference between /ʌ/ and /o/ and produce them. The study employed perception test, production test, and phonetic analysis of speech production. There was a significant difference between Korean native speakers’ pronunciation and that of Indonesian learners in pronouncing /ʌ/ and /o/. The study found that Indonesian learners studying Korean less than one year were not able to recognize the difference between /ʌ/ and /o/, and had difficulties in pronouncing them. Indonesian learners who have been studying Korean more than one year were better able to recognize the difference between /ʌ/ and /o/; however, they still had difficulties of producing /ʌ/. The results of the phonetic test showed that there was significant difference between Korean native speakers’ /ʌ/ and Indonesia learners‘ /ʌ/; in contrast, no significant difference was found between Korean native speakers’ /o/ and Indonesia learners’ /o/. Consequently, Indonesian Korean learners have difficulties in perceiving and producing /ʌ/ and the difficulties still linger even when the period of studying was long.

한국어 모어 화자와 인도네시아인 한국어 학습자의 /ㅐ/와 /ㅔ/ 인지 및 산출 연구

        Fitri Meutia,김영주,이선영 한국응용언어학회 2022 응용 언어학 Vol.38 No.3

Korean Journal of Applied Linguistics, 38/3, 95-127. This study was aimed at investigating the perception and production of short vowel /e/ and /ɛ/ of middle-age Korean native speakers and Indonesian intermediate and advanced learners, by conducting AX discrimination task and production task such as reading sentences composed of words containing /e/ and /ɛ/. The findings showed that middle-age native Korean speakers and all Indonesian Korean learners distinguished /e/ and /ɛ/ well. Unlike younger generations of Korean native speakers (Cho, 2002; Choi, 2003; Park, 2011; Shin, 2011; Yoon, 2011), middle-age native Korean speakers in this study recognize the difference between /e/ and /ɛ/. Conversely, middle-age native Korean speakers and Indonesian female intermediate and advanced learners were neutralizing /e/ and /ɛ/ when pronouncing them. In case of Indonesian learners do not distinguish the pronunciation of /e/ and /ɛ/, it presumably due to the absence of /3/ in the Indonesian vocal system. The implication of this study for Korean Language Education in Indonesia, is when teaching /e/ and /ɛ/, do not show only the phoneme itself or show them separately without attach with consonant. Hence the acoustic characteristics of those two phonemes can be expressed.

Antecedents of Disclosure on Internal Control and Earnings Management

ZULFIKAR, Rudi,MILLATINA, Firda,MUKHTAR, Mukhtar,ASTUTI, Kurniasih Dwi,ISMAIL, Tubagus,MEUTIA, Meutia,FAZRI, Edward Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.3

This study examines the effect of independent commissioners and the Audit Committee on internal control disclosure and its implications for earnings management in the banking industry listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2016-2018. In this study, a purposive sampling technique was used, combined with two multiple regression analysis models. The final sample for this study comprised 30 companies over the three years of observation, such that there were 90 observations in total. This study indicates that independent commissioners, as measured by their composition, do not affect the disclosure of internal control. However, as measured by the number of members, the Audit Committee had a positive effect on internal control disclosures. This study also indicates that the disclosure of internal control as measured by the Internal Control Disclosure index affects reducing the negative practice of earnings management. This study proves that the Audit Committee's role is very dominant in assisting the Board of Commissioners in supervising internal control. This has implications for reducing earnings management practices. However, the Independent Commissioner's role in the Indonesian banking industry has not been optimal in carrying out the supervisory function in this study.

인도네시아인 학습자의 숙달도에 따른 한국어 치경폐쇄음 습득 연구

        이선영(Sun-Young Lee),김영주(Youngjoo Kim),피트리 메우티아(Fitri Meutia) 한국응용언어학회 2022 응용 언어학 Vol.38 No.1

This study examined the acquisition of Korean stop sounds /t/(ㄷ), /t’/(ㄸ), and /th/(ㅌ) by Indonesian learners of Korean using a behavioral experiment called AX Discrimination Task, and voice production test analyzed by Praat. Nineteen advanced learners and nineteen intermediate learners participated in both tasks. Result of AX discrimination task showed that Indonesian learners were significantly less accurate than native speakers of Korean, and intermediate learners were significantly less accurate than advanced learners in discriminating /t/(ㄷ), /t’/(ㄸ), and /th/(ㅌ). Besides, in terms of reaction time, intermediate learners were the slowest participants in recognizing /t/(ㄷ), /t’/(ㄸ), and /th/(ㅌ). Meanwhile, in the voice production test, both intermediate and advanced learners revealed significant differences in pronouncing /t/(ㄷ), /t’/(ㄸ), and /th/(ㅌ) compared to native Korean. The results of this study showed in perceiving and producing Korean stop sounds /t/(ㄷ), /t’/(ㄸ), and /th/(ㅌ) between the Indonesian learners and native Korean. Overall, this study indicates that in terms of perceiving and producing Korean stop sounds /t/(ㄷ), /t’/(ㄸ), and /th/(ㅌ), and advanced learners shows an increase than intermediate learners, this indirectly proves that lower proficiency predicts lower pronunciation performance as claimed also by Higgs and Cliford’s(1982) on their relative contribution model. This study also revealed similar results with previous studies, where basic, intermediate and advance learners showed significant difference in perceiving and producing Korean stop sounds, while intermediate or advanced learners showed perceiving and producing Korean stop sound that was much closer to that of native Korean(Kim, 2012; Kim, 2006).
