Entrepreneurial Orientation Affecting the Performance of Women-Owned SMEs: Evidence from Vietnam
Thi Loan NGUYEN(Thi Loan NGUYEN ) 한국유통과학회 2023 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.10 No.1
This study desires to examine the impact of five dimensions of entrepreneurial (EO) orientation (innovation, competitive aggressiveness, proactiveness, risk-taking, autonomy) on the operation of women-owned SMEs; the author conducted a case study in Vietnam. How will each dimension of EO affect women-owned SMEs’ performance? This study aims to seek the answer to these questions. A survey research design and a theoretical framework have been developed for all factors in the current context. A simple random sampling technique was applied in 300 SMEs in some provinces of Vietnam through a survey questionnaire, and a total of 258 valid responses were assessed as appropriate. The obtained data was analyzed by using SPSS 20.0. Cronbach’s α test and factor analysis have been carried out to test the reliability of data and validate the hypothesis. Research results show that innovation, competitive aggressiveness, proactiveness, and autonomy positively affect business performance, while risk-taking negatively affects business performance. The results suggest that female business owners should know how to improve each dimension of the entrepreneurial in line with its context. Research results are important implications for Government administrative agencies for businesses to consult and introduce effective support policies. It is recommended that similar studies be replicated to confirm this result.
Tannic acid-induced apoptosis in FaDu hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma
Loan Thi Ta,Trang Thi Kieu Nguyen,Hoon Yoo 대한구강생물학회 2019 International Journal of Oral Biology Vol.44 No.2
Tannic acid (TA) is a water-soluble polyphenol compound found in various herbal plants. We investigated the chemopreventive effects of TA on FaDu hypopharyngeal squamous carcinoma cells. In an 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, TA showed dose-dependent cytotoxicity with a half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 50 µM. Cell cycle analysis and immunofluorescence imaging demonstrated that under low-dose (25 µM) treatment, FaDu cells were arrested in G2/M phase, and as the dose of TA was increased, apoptosis was induced with the increase of cell population at sub-G1 phase. The expressions of various cyclins, including cyclin D1 and cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK-1 and CDK-2), were down-regulated at low doses of TA, whereas apoptotic effectors such as cleaved caspase 3, cleaved caspase 7, and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) were expressed in a dose-dependent manner in Western blotting. In addition, TA-induced apoptosis of FaDu cells might be mediated by the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)/mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway, with the upregulation of p-AKT/p-PKB (phosphorylated protein kinase B) and p-ERK. Overall, our data support the hypothesis that TA is a potential candidate agent for the treatment of hypopharyngeal cancer.
Preparation and Characterization of Nylon 6 Compounds Using the Nylon 6-Grafted GO
Loan Nguyen,박수영,최성문,김동훈,공낙경,정필정 한국고분자학회 2014 Macromolecular Research Vol.22 No.3
Nylon 6 compounds were prepared using master batch (MB) chips containing nylon 6-grafted grapheneoxide (GOgraft), which was prepared using an in situ polymerization method with GO dispersed in an ε-caprolactammonomer with 6-aminocaproic acid as the initiator. The MB chips were well compounded with the virgin nylon 6chips with good processibility. The GOgraft showed good dispersion in m-cresol, formic acid, and sulfuric acid comparedto the pure reduced GO, indicating that the nylon 6 chains were grafted successfully on the GO sheets, whichwas also confirmed by atomic force microscopy. This GOgraft improved the modulus of the compound by 139% byincorporating 0.015 wt% of the GO in the polymer matrix. However, the elongation at break decreased. The increasein modulus by incorporating small amounts of GO might have been due to the good dispersion of the GO in the polymermatrix and the strong interactions between them.
Advanced Materials Delivery Successes in CVD Processing
Loan, James F. The Korean Vacuum Society 1995 Applied Science and Convergence Technology Vol.4 No.s1
As silicon divice geometrics become smaller and aspect ratios larger, processing technoloty is moving from PVD into the area of CVD and OMCVD. Many new source materials are in the research and development stage, and have placed challenging demands on materials delivery technology. This paper will describe the many successes achieved with various delivery methods including thermal, bubblers, pressure-based and Direct Liquid Injection.
