        In this paper, an improved cache controller system supporting Dragon protocol is designed and implemented that maintains cache coherence on multiprocessor system which share a system bus and a common main memory. The improvement of the proposed cache controller system, was caused by modifying operation method on processor write miss. It can reduce data traffic considerably on a shared system bus, eventually increasing system preformance.

        단일 신경세포에서 한련초에 의해 유발된 이온전류에 대한 이차전령계의 조절작용

        The effects of Ecliptae Herba on ion channels of single neuron employing nystatin perforated patch clamp under voltage clamp were investigated and the following results were obtained. 1. The magnitudes of ion currents caused by various concentrations of Ecliptae Herba compared to 10 exp (-5)M of glycine used as the control were recorded. As the result Ecliptae Herba, in neuron, recorded the ion currents depending on concentrations. With 10.0㎎/㎖ of Ecliptae Herba, the ion current equivalent to 206.30±32.70% of the ion current by the control was recorded and it was the maximal concentration. 2. Considered the ion current recorded by 3㎎/㎖ of Ecliptae Herba as the control, the following data were obtained. 1) 10^-4M of bicuculline suppressed the ion current of the control by 77.23±2.71%. 2) 10^-4M of tubocurarine repressed the ion current of the control by 57.86±3.44%. 3) When both bicuculline and tubocurarine were applied, the ion current of Ecliptae Herba was suppressed by 70.78±3.80%. Therefore, the ion current recorded from Ecliptae Herba is due mainly to the excitation of GABA_A receptor rather than the excitation of acetylcholine receptor. 3. Taken the ion current recorded from 1㎎/㎖ of Ecliptae Herba as the control, the following data were obtained. 1) D-AP5, a NMDA receptor antagonist, suppressed the ion current of the control by 12.12±3.10%. 2) CNQX, a non-NMDA receptor antagonist repressed the ion current of the control by 18.23±3.92%. This experiment had shown that Ecliptae Herba does not greatly affect glutamate receptors. 4. The magnitudes of th ion currents, when 0.5㎎/㎖ of Ecliptae Herba was applied on single neuron in two minutes interval, was reduced as the experiment proceeded. When a mixed solution of 10^-5M of forskolin, 10^-4M of IBMX and 10^-5M of dibutyl cAMP was applied for thirty seconds, the ion currents caused by Ecliptae Herba were reduced more sharply than the control. Hence, this experiment presented the fact that the magnitude of ion current of Ecliptae Herba was decreased as the concentration of cAMP in the neuron increased. 5. When Ecliptae Herba was pre-treated by 10^-7M of staurosporin for thirty seconds, the ion current was reduced more dully than the control. Therefore, in neurone, the ion channels activated by Ecliptae Herba were inhibited by cAMP-protein kinase.

      • 군위지역 오이 시설 재배지의 토양특성 변화

        군위군 오이재배지역을 정밀토양도를 이용하며 토양특성을 조사하구 군위군 노지 및 시설오이 재배지토양의 물리화학적 특성을 조사하여, 연작과 관행적인 토양관리로 인하여 저하된 토양의 이화학적 특성을 오이재배에 적합한 토양으로 개량하기 위한 기초자료로 이용하고자 토양조사를 실시하였다. 조사지역은 군위군 군위읍 외랑리 오이재배단지로서 주요토양통은 토양토에 나타난 단북통과 신정들이 가장 넓게 분포하였으며, 점토함량은 시설재배지내 토양의 경우 양토이었으며, 시설재배지의 외부 토양의 경우 23.8%로 높게 나타났다. 오이 재배지 토양의 화학적 특성 결과에 대한 오이재배지 토양의 적정범위와비교하여 보면 일반적인 화학적 성질에서 서는 유효인산의 함량이 적정범위보다 높은 것을 알 수 있으며, 치환성 양이온 함량은 시설재배지의 외부토양은 적정범위에 속하나 시설재배지 내부토양은 모두 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 최상부 토양은 매우 높으나 l0cm이하는 깊이에 따라 뚜렷한 차이는 없었다. 오이 재배지 토양 중 중금속 함량은 모두 기준치보다 높게 나타났는데, 구리의 함량이 시설재배지가 노지재배지보다 높게 나타났다. The soils of plastic film houses in which intensive cultivation takes place suffer from the serious problems such as severe salinity and accumulation of heavy metals etc. The objective of this research was to examine the change in soil properties with repeated cucumber cultivation under plastic film house at Gunwi-Gun area. The soils were classified mainly to Danbuk and SinJung series. Clay content is lower in the soils of plastic film house than in the field soil. Available P205 and exchangeable cations were accumulated at the level higher than the optimum range. The content of extractable heavy metals were higher in the soils of plastic film house than in those of the field. For optimum yield, much attention should be paied to the management of soils by the pre-soil survey.

        Recently produced concrete has a tendency to overcome environmental defects. Porous and planting Eco-concrete requires the neutralization process and enough void in concrete to contain water, to pass air freely, and provides necessary nutrients to vegetation roots. The biological environment in concrete is not suitable for planting because the concrete possesses strong alkali constituent of pH 11-13. This study evaluated the strength and serviceability of concrete as well as the chemical characteristics of concrete mixed by low-grade iron ore left in the abandoned mine and treated by Ammonium monohydrogen phosphate, (NH_(4))_(2)HPO_(4). Test variables include two kinds of coarse aggregates such as crushed stones and low-grade iron ore, the duration time and the period for neutralization treatment by Ammonium monohydrogen phosphate, (NH_(4))_(2)HPO_(4), and the proportion ratio of cement, blast furnace slag and silica fume.

        With rapid growth of the internet, need for the mobile communication networks is increasing. In this paper, we implement and test Mobile IP Protocol in Embedded System. Our Mobile IP-based testbed consisted of two sub-networks and each sub-network was configured to operate independently through use of router. To satisfy integrated wired/wireless network model established on the testbed design and show generality of the testbed, we implemented mobile nodes, home agent, foreign agent and router on the basis of Linux operating system. As the results of the evaluation, we confirmed that mobile nodes operated properly according to Mobile IP Protocol.

        The effects of microstructural morphology on dynamic deformation and fracture behavior and ballistic performance of a Ti-6Al-4V alloy were investigated in this study. Ballistic impact tests were conducted on equiaxed and bimodal microstructures, which were processed by different heat treatments, and then the test data were analyzed in relation to microstructures, tensile properties, and dynamic torsional test data. In the impacted region of the equiaxed microstructure, a number of adiabatic shear bands and cracks were observed to be formed along plastic flow lines, and delamination occurred because of cracking along the plastic flow lines or shear bands. In the case of the bimodal microstructure, shear bands were found in limited area near the impacted region without occurring delamination, and their number was fewer than that of the equiaxed microstructure. Thus, ballistic performance of the bimodal microstructure was better than that of the equiaxed microstructure. The ballistic performance of the two microstructures was also discussed by comparing the possibility of adiabatic shear band formation obtained from dynamic torsional test data.

      • Construing temporal metabolomes for acetous fermentative production of <i>Rubus coreanus</i> vinegar and its <i>in vivo</i> nutraceutical effects

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The temporal metabolomes associated with <I>Rubus coreanus</I> (RC) vinegar production were delineated using mass spectrometry-based metabolomic analyses with multivariate studies. We observed a clustered pattern of 27 discriminant metabolites: 4 organic acids, 9 sugars and sugar derivatives, 2 alcohol and carboxylic acid, 6 esters, and 6 terpenes. The levels of organic acids and alcohols were steadily decreased throughout fermentation, whereas those of sugars and sugar derivatives, carboxylic acids, esters, and terpenes peaked at 6days. Further, the <I>in vivo</I> nutraceutical potentials of RC vinegar were examined with its metabolomic implications for bone health in growing rat model. Intriguingly, the plasmatic metabolomes among treated rat groups were observed with lower levels of non-essential amino acids and lysophosphatidylcholines (LysoPCs) coupled with higher levels of fatty acids and bile acids. The plasmatic metabolomes complemented with bone morphometric and clinical parameters suggest the bone health ameliorating effects of RC vinegar.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We construed temporal metabolomes for <I>Rubus coreanus</I> (RC) vinegar fermentation. </LI> <LI> Overall 27 discriminant metabolites were identified towards fermentative stages. </LI> <LI> Dietary RC vinegar supplementation promotes bone health in growing rats. </LI> <LI> Serum metabolomes and clinical parameters of bone health were positively affected. </LI> </UL> </P>

      • Inorganic Arsenite Potentiates Vasoconstriction through Calcium Sensitization in Vascular Smooth Muscle

        <P>Chronic exposure to arsenic is well known as the cause of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension. To investigate the effect of arsenic on blood vessels, we examined whether arsenic affected the contraction of aortic rings in an isolated organ bath system. Treatment with arsenite, a trivalent inorganic species, increased vasoconstriction induced by phenylephrine or serotonin in a concentration-dependent manner. Among the arsenic species tested—arsenite, pentavalent inorganic species (arsenate), monomethylarsonic acid (MMA<SUP>V</SUP>), and dimethylarsinic acid (DMA<SUP>V</SUP>)—arsenite was the most potent. Similar effects were also observed in aortic rings without endothelium, suggesting that vascular smooth muscle plays a key role in enhancing vasoconstriction induced by arsenite. This hypercontraction by arsenite was well correlated with the extent of myosin light chain (MLC) phosphorylation stimulated by phenylephrine. Direct Ca<SUP>2+</SUP> measurement using fura-2 dye in aortic strips revealed that arsenite enhanced vasoconstriction induced by high K<SUP>+</SUP> without concomitant increase in intracellular Ca<SUP>2+</SUP> elevation, suggesting that, rather than direct Ca<SUP>2+</SUP> elevation, Ca<SUP>2+</SUP> sensitization may be a major contributor to the enhanced vasoconstriction by arsenite. Consistent with these <I>in vitro</I> results, 2-hr pretreatment of 1.0 mg/kg intravenous arsenite augmented phenylephrine-induced blood pressure increase in conscious rats. All these results suggest that arsenite increases agonist-induced vasoconstriction mediated by MLC phosphorylation in smooth muscles and that calcium sensitization is one of the key mechanisms for the hypercontraction induced by arsenite in blood vessels.</P>

        Effect of Sesbania Incorporation as Nitrogen Source on Growth and Yield of Whole Crop Barley and Reduction of N Fertilizer in Saemangeum Reclaimed Tidal Land

        It is known that the poor soil fertility of newly reclaimed saline soils is due to the lack of organic matter and available mineral nutrients for crop production. The effect of green manuring with Sesbania aculeata in combination with five rates of urea-N treatments (N0. N25, N50, N75, N100) on the productivity of a subsequent whole-crop barley and the fertility of the reclaimed saline soil in Saemangeum was evaluated in the field during 2013-2014 growing season. Sesbania was grown during summer season (June to October). The amount of Sesbania incorporated was $16.2Mg\;ha^{-1}$. Sesbania contributed to $393kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$ to the soils when ploughed down and incorporated before whole-crop barley cultivated. The performances of whole-crop barley following sesbania incorporation were significantly affected by a combination of Sesbania manuring and different N rates. The N fertilizer equivalence without N fertilizer following Sesbania was 42.6% ($63.9kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$), compared with N100 ($150kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$) in fallow soils. The whole-crop barley yield responded to N fertilizer rates in both sesbania-amended and fallow soil. The yield response to nitrogen rates in fallow soil was linear (Y=0.0586X+3.3011, $R^2=0.9534$), whereas that in sesbania-amended soils was quadratic (Y= -0.001X2+0.1322X+5.7143, $R^2=0.9576$). The yield of whole-crop barley in sesbania-amended with increasing N rates was increased up to SN75 (115 kgN) $10.3Mg\;ha^{-1}$. Apparent N recovery (ANR) of whole-crop barely showed decreased with sesbania plus increasing rates of N fertilizer. Despite higher yield with sesbania manuring plus increasing N rates, the contributions of N from Sesbania with increasing N rates to whole-crop barley were decreased, whereas those from fertilizer increment due to excessively mineralized Nitrogen. Considering yield, ANR, N contribution from Sesbania and nitrogen fertilizer, the optimum N rate was N50 rate following sesbania incorporation.
