In these days, the pollution of marine environment near island at Korean coastal zone caused by the trash human waste and livestocks excreata become intensified.<br/> One of the most economic and efficient way to prevent this pollution problem is to set up island circulating incineration system.<br/> In this paper, the result of feasibility study on the application of turtle boat hull form to the incinerating vessel has been summarized especially for the resistance and course keeping point of view.

In the design of high speed fishing vessel, its hull form has to be decided from a view point of resistance and propulsion performance without neglection of seakeeping characteristics. In spite of many efforts, the performance improvement by hull form itself has its limitations, specially for high speed craft. In this paper, the development of performance of resistance and seakeeping improving appendage for high speed planing hull on behalf of the hull form of fishing vessel has been introduced. The developed appendage verified its effectiveness in the full scale test.

In this paper, the development results of energy saving device for 57m class strut supported twin screw car ferry has been presented. The series of theoretical calculation with CFD code of Ship flow for some variations of strut fin were performed, and model test in towing tank has been carried out with selected device. The result of towing tank test shows up to 6% power gain in full load condition of design speed of 10Kts.

In the present paper, a hull form for the turtle boat type incinerating vessel was developed based on the Finite source Distribution Method(FDM) and 1-CP method. In order to obtain proper hull form within the limited time and budget, a computer program OCL<(Optimization of CP and LCB) was developed and used. For the confirmation of the theoretical results by OCL, these theoretical results were compared with results of model test in the circulating water channel (CWC) in Chosun University.

Interaction of two surface waves over a slope is studied within the shallow water approximation. In is well known that the solutions of the linear shallow water equation over a slope can be expressed in the terms of Bessel functions. When trying to find the nonlinear correction in the form of quadratic expression of Bessel-type functions, the usual perturbation techniques inevitably leads to a series of over determined systems of linear algebraic equation for the unknown coefficients. The result is that all these over determined systems are compatible, which allow presenting explicitly a nonlinear solution as a quadratic polynomial of the Bessel-type functions. The solution describes two-waves interaction and is found with the same accuracy as the nonlinear shallow water equation is derived. Analogous formulas for cubic nonlinear corrections are also derived.
