Underpricing signifies that IPO share prices do not reflect the fundamental value of the listed company. Corporate governance plays an essential role in IPOs where the board of directors, the independent board of directors, and the board of supervisors are significant elements of accurate share pricing. The study investigates the underpricing phenomena and short-term performance of the IPO companies during the listing process in the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE). The work outcomes illustrate the role of the corporate organizational structure in the period of the IPO process that may attract potential investors. The hypothesis testing is conducted with a multiple regression model including 100 observations from enterprises doing IPO listed on HOSE. The study results generate signals for the investors and regulators that the board of directors holds a strong negative influence on the underpricing process. Secondly, the level of the independent board of directors and stock exchange in itself has no significant impact on the underpricing process. Underpricing is one of the many anomalies of the stock exchanges that provide wrong signals for the market participants. Identifying stock prices that reflect their intrinsic value is an ongoing debate among scholars, investors, and other market participants.

Recycling biomass to cellulose aerogel (Cell-A) provides a promising approach to develop adsorbent materials for spilled-oil recovery. In this work, Cell-A was fabricated from Vietnamese water hyacinth via crosslinking methods using PVA as a crosslinker and freeze-drying process. Various cellulose to PVA ratios were investigated to obtain the optimal synthesis condition. The Cell-A was additionally modified by dip-coating in poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) and pyrolyzing to form PDMS-coated cellulose aerogels (Cell-AP) and carbon aerogels (CA), respectively. Results of the oil adsorption tests show that pyrolysis produced aerogels with greater adsorption capacity with an optimal mass ratio of 15 : 1 cellulose to PVA. Furthermore, the pseudo-second-order model was found to be more accurate than the pseudo-first-order model for the study of oil absorption kinetics. As a result, the modified cellulose aerogel is promising for replacing earth-unfriendly polymer-based oil sorbents due to their high oil absorption capacity.

This study aimed to evaluate the encapsulation of pomelo (Citrus grandis (L.) Osbeck) essential oils using the spray drying technique. The parameters of the process include concentration of maltodextrin (20–35% by wt%/wt%), concentration of essential oil (1–2.5% by wt%/wt%), inlet temperature of spray drying (120–180 °C), and feed flow rates (120–240 mL/h) were soundly examined. The utilization of suitable parameters as the concentration of maltodextrin at 30% (by wt%/wt%), the concentration of essential oil at 1.5% (by wt%/wt%), the inlet temperature of 140 °C, and feed flow rate of 120 mL/h showed the highest drying yields (90.05%), microencapsulation yield (75.59%), and microencapsulation efficiency (89.44%). TGA and DSC results verified higher stability of Citrus grandis essential oil after encapsulation. The encapsulation of pomelo essential oils maintained most of the major components in comparison with the non-encapsulated essential oils without any significant changing in powder-obtained quality.
