Contexts of Lacan : An Overview of Three Contexts Helpful for Understanding Lacanian Psychonalysis
Kangas, Kaj 경운대학교 산업기술연구소 2001 産業技術硏究論文誌 Vol.3 No.2(A)
The psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, the French Freud, an intellectual giant who struggled to restore the radical, subversive spirit of the original Freud to the practice of psychoanalysis world-wide, influenced generations of the leading thinkers from the 1930s through to the 80s, in his native country, France. There, he is a household name. Yet, despite the importance of his thought, he is hardly known at all in North America, and especially not as a clinician He is somewhat better known in North American academic circles, particularly those of English, Literary Criticism and Film Studies. However, Lacanian psychoanalytic theory is widely viewed by students and academics as difficult, almost impossible to understand. There is also widespread misuse of Lacanian theory. There are many reasons Lacan's writings are difficult to understand. One important reason in that Lacanian theory is all too often read out of context. This paper presents overviews of three contexts, in particular, that North Americans neglect or are ignorant of: he context of the clinical basis of Lacanian theory, the personal and historical context of Lacan's ongoing battle with American-style ego-analysis and the context of the ongoing development of Lacanian psychoanalysis since Lacan's death in 1981.

This qualitative research synthesis aims to describe and identify ethical opportunities and challenges in interviewing young children in early childhood education and to explore interviewing as a means to bring forward children’s experiences of participation and inclusion. These objectives have been studied through two different research cases in the Finnish early childhood education and care settings with active learning approach. The identified opportunities were supporting to show emotions, respecting diversity and special needs, enhancing the competence and agency of children, stimulating humor, playfulness and imagination, and generating meaningful encounters and feelings of empowerment. The challenges were building trust, identifying experiences from imaginary stories, listening attentively, responding to difficult life situations of children, and addressing power distribution. The paper highlights the possibilities for promoting children’s inclusion and participation through ethically considered interviewing and seeing research process as a chance to give them experiences about competence, involvement and becoming listened to by adults.

Carbon residue obtained as a by-product fromwood gasification processwas employed as a precursor forpreparing adsorbent by physical activation. Adsorbent with BET surface area 590m2 g 1 and pore volumeof 0.335cm3 g 1 was prepared and used as an adsorbent for phosphate and nitrate removal. The optimalpH and initial concentrations for phosphate and nitrate removal were determined. The kinetics showedthat the adsorption data followed pseudo-second-order kinetics. The isotherm analysis indicated that theadsorption data can be represented by the Langmuir model. Results showed that activated carbon residueis suitable adsorbent for phosphate removal.
Delineation of the evacuation route plan, relief camp and prioritization using GIScience

Rising urban flood patterns are a universal phenomenon and a significant challenge for city government and urban planners worldwide. Urban flood problems range from relatively localized incidents to substantial incidents, which lead to cities being flooded for a few hours to several days. Therefore, the effect may be widespread, such as the temporary displacement of individuals, disruption to civic facilities, water quality degradation and the possibility of epidemics. The problems raised by urban flooding are highly challengeable and compound by ongoing climate change, with adverse implications for changes in rainfall and gaps in intra-urban rainfall distribution. Unplanned construction and invasions of large houses along rivers and watercourses have interfered in natural rivers and watercourses. As a result, the runoff has risen in proportion to the urbanization of the urban floods. The location of the relief camp and the priority for evacuation were determined, and the safest route to avoid floods were established. This method can be used for emergency planning in future flood incidents, and it will help plan disaster preparedness for Panchayat. This study will promote the flood plain's potential use for disaster management and land use planning virtually.
