This study was conducted from November 2016 to March 2017 for the development and evaluation of the biologicalcontrol of the two spotted mite (Tetranychus urticae; TSSM) in the strawberry greenhouses. Natural enemy plot and conventionalplot were selected to compare the mean density of T. urticae. T. urticae was sampled by taking three leaflets (1 stalk)from each plant (3 three-leaflet) leaves from each sampling position. Natural enemy plot was released with Phytoseiuluspersimilis and conventional plot was sprayed with pesticides(abamectin, cyenopyafen, etc). Each stage of TSSM densitywas higher in conventional pesticides than natural enemy. Spatial Analysis by Distance IndicEs (SADIE) was used toanalyze spatial distribution and index of aggregation , index of clustering , were used to investigate the spatialdistribution. Also, the clustering indices were mapped as red-blue plot. As a result, The spatial distribution of T. urticaewas varied, particularly, feeding ability and density of P. persimilis caused regular spatial distribution of T. urticae.

Major depressive disorder is often resistant to antidepressant treatment. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has been used in treatment-resistant depression (TRD). Known adverse events of rTMS include transient headache, local pain, syncope, seizure induction, and hypomania induction. This report outlines a patient with TRD who unexpectedly improved following a seizure during the course of rTMS, which has never been reported.

Severe physical injury is a leading cause of posttraumatic syndrome (PTS). This is to develop a biomarker-based diagnostic algorithm for posttraumatic syndrome (BioPTS) study. This is a 2-year longitudinal cohort study assessing patients who were hospitalized beginning in 2015 at Chonnam National University Hospital in Gwangju, Korea, after experiencing severe physical injuries. Baseline evaluations were made during the acute phase (within 1 month) of the physical injury and included extensive information on sociodemographic and clinical variables as well as a list of biomarkers. All participants will be followed up for 2 years, and the diagnostic and predictive validities of various biomarkers for PTS will be estimated. The BioPTS study will develop the most accurate models for the diagnosis and prediction of PTS, and will contribute to existing research regarding the complex relationships between severe physical injury and psychological issues.

Asian eyelids have different anatomical structures compared to Western eyelids; accordingly, the standards for the “beauty of eyes” vary among races and countries and have also changed with time. With increasing interest in cosmetic surgery, Korean cosmetic techniques and beauty standards have become wide spread in China and other Southeast Asian countries due to the influence of the Korean wave. The recent trend of beauty is naturalism. Although cosmetic operations are being performed, the inconvenience caused by the operation should be minimal, and a natural look is preferred. That is, minimally invasive surgery is necessary. To minimize unnecessary complications and to improve cosmetic and functional satisfaction with minimal invasion and uncomplicated methods according to the individual patient’s condition, we must thoroughly understand the characteristics of eyelid anatomy and function of Asian eyelids. Therefore, we describe the surgical procedure for successful upper eyelid surgery based on the characteristics of Asian eyelids. Level of Evidence: V

For wireless charging, a misalignment between a receiver (Rx) coil in the devices (EV, drone and IMD) and a transmitter (Tx) coil often occurs. In this case, a mutual inductance between the coils changes, and consequently a power transfer efficiency (PTE) of the wireless power transfer (WPT) system also changes. To analyze the WPT system in such a situation, this paper presents an analytical method using Neumann formula to derive mutual inductance considering angular and position variations of two rectangular spiral coils. To verify the proposed method, magnetic resonant WPT systems of 85 kHz and 6.78 MHz are implemented, and the PTE values derived from the analyzed mutual inductance and the measured S-parameters are compared for the cases of angle and position variations. For each case, the two PTE values agree well with each other, and it is verified using the normalized root mean square error (NRMSE) values.

Purpose: This study focuses on the need for standardized body composition measurements in the hepatobiliarypancreatic field. It evaluates and compares the effectiveness of bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) and computed tomography (CT) scans in assessing body composition of patients undergoing pancreatoduodenectomy (PD), aiming to establish correlations among different body composition indexes. Methods: Ninety-seven patients who underwent PD between August 2022 and March 2023, were enrolled in this study. Muscular and fatty parameters related to BIA and CT were assessed both preoperatively and on postoperative day 6. The correlation between each parameter related to muscle fat was analyzed according to the measurement modalities. Results: There was an increase of skeletal muscle area (SMA), total muscle area, and low attenuated muscle area after surgery. Skeletal muscle mass (SMM) measured using BIA exhibited a strong correlation with the SMA and normal attenuated muscle area (NAMA) measured using CT (r=0.86, P<0.001; r=0.76, P<0.001). The trunk muscle measured using BIA demonstrated moderate to strong correlations with SMA and NAMA measured using CT (r=0.84 P<0.001; r=0.73, P<0.001). Body fat measured using BIA and total fat area (TFA) measured using CT showed strong correlations (r=0.74, P<0.001). In the postoperative analysis, a similar trend was observed (SMM vs. SMA: r=0.80, P<0.001; SMM vs. NAMA: r=0.70, P<0.001), (trunk muscle vs. SMA: r=0.79, P<0.001; trunk muscle vs. NAMA: r=0.69, P<0.001), and (body fat vs. TFA: r=0.83, P<0.001). Conclusion: BIA, akin to CT, serves as a valuable tool for assessing body composition ratios in patients undergoing PD.
