Practical Demethylation of Aryl Methyl Ethers using an Odorless Thiol Reagent

A highly practical method for demethylation of aryl methyl ethers employing a long-chain thiol has been developed. Under the conditions described herein, clean and fast conversions to the desired phenolic compounds have been achieved with a broad range of substrates. Unlike other thiolate-mediated methods, this newly developed protocol features in-situ generation of sodium alkylthiolate using NaOH, and is almost free from foul smells and potentially harmful gases. It therefore provides an attractive option for the demethylation of aryl methyl ethers.

The purpose of the present study was to explore preschool teachers’ perceptions of early childhood creativity using the metaphorical analysis method, to understand the self-reported performance of these teachers in teaching creativity and the metaphorical image they associate with children’s creativity. We employed the Teaching Performance Scale for Enhancing Creativity in Young Children, developed by Moon (1995), along with an open-ended questionnaire to collect teachers’ metaphors regarding children’s creativity. A total of 211 preschool teachers from across the country participated in the online survey. After analyzing the metaphors for children’s creativity, initially, 21 categories were identified. These categories were then further consolidated into four main themes: ‘divergent thinking,’ ‘malleability’ ‘diverse characteristics,’ and ‘needs for investment.’ The metaphors related to ‘fluency’ and ‘originality’ were prevalent across the high-performing, middle-performing, and low-performing groups. However, there was a difference in the third-most-used metaphors among the different groups. Based on the key findings, the implications for the direction of early childhood creativity education were discussed.

As the spread of electric vehicles increases, it is necessary to conduct performance tests that take approximately 6 hours or more to completely discharge the battery, and it is also necessary to conduct tests that take close to 2 hours, such as real driving emissions(RDE) tests, using an indoor chassis dynamometer. In this study, basic research was conducted to develop a driving robot capable of short installation time and automatic calibration to test the performance of a car using a chassis dynamometer. For this, a mechanism is designed and manufactured, which can control the acceleration and brake pedals. In the next stage, it is planned to develop an articulated robot with 6 degrees of freedom based on this and develop a driving robot that can be installed in a short time and perform tests taking long time by following the speed mode prescribed by regulations in the chassis dynamometer.

초고압 지중송전선로에 적용되는 가교절연 케이블은 전기적 특성의 우수성과 유지보수의 용이성 때문에 확대적용되고 있다. 345㎸급 지중송전선로는 장거리 계통에 적용이 되고 있으며, 이에 따라 접속재 부분의 개발이 중요하게 되었다. 현재 154㎸용 PMJ는 자체 개발되어 실계통에 설치 운용되고 있다. 345㎸급 PMJ 개발에 앞서 220㎸급 가교절연 송전선로용 PMJ를 자체 설계 및 제조하여 세계적인 인중기간인 KEMA에서 제품의 신뢰성 인증을 받았다.

초고압 지중송전선로에 적용되는 가교절연 케이블은 전기적 특성의 우수성과 유지보수의 용이성 때문에 확대적용되고 있다. 345㎸급 지중송전선로는 장거리 계통에 적용이 되고 있으며, 이에 따라 접속재부분의 개발도 중요하게 되었다. 배전선로에 사용되던 Plug-in 종단접속재를 송전용 가스중종단접속재(EBG)에 적용함으로써 선로 결합 시에 사용되는 부품의 수를 줄이고, 작업공정의 단순화를 이룰 수 있었다. 아직 국내제품으로는 초고압 Plug-in 종단접속재가 실계통에 적용된 경우는 없으나 이번 220㎸용 Plug-in 종단접속재를 개발함으로서 당사의 기술력 확보를 이룰 수 있었으며, PMJ와 마찬가지로 세계적인 인증기간인 네덜란드 KEMA에서 제품에 대한 신뢰성 인증을 받았다.

As the spread of electric vehicles increases, battery performance testing, which takes approximately 6 hours or more until the battery is completely discharged, becomes necessary. The need for automatic testing is increasing due to extremely severe labor stress due to long-term testing and low-temperature testing as well. In this study, a basic research was conducted to develop a driving robot that mimics human pedal movements. Two-degree-of-freedom pedal control mechanism is designed and manufactured that implements a pivoting movement with the heel placed on the floor of the drivers seat, similar to a human. In order to analyze pedal operation movements when driving in the UDDS and HWFET speed modes that constitute electric vehicle testing, cameras were mounted on the vehicle to measure foot movements, and OBD data was used to measure vehicle driving variables. Using these data, the drivers pedal motion movements during electric vehicle testing were analyzed, and will be used to construct a pedal control system in the following study.
